Party Prep
A/N: Extra long chapter, both Jason\'s and Savvy\'s POVs. Thanks to all my reviewers! cu-kid, I really appreciated your advice. I like doing things the way you described, and I\'m glad that the rather nondescript surroundings haven\'t been confusing or anything.
~*~ Jason\'s POV ~*~
I grabbed a glass and a bottle of wine out of the fridge and stomped into the living room. Mike was in the kitchen but he was smart enough not to talk to me or follow me. I grabbed the remote and turned on the fireplace, rather than the overhead light or the lamps. I landed heavily on the couch, turned the TV on, and cranked the volume up. Pouring myself a glass of wine, I resolved to get very, very drunk.
The glass was at my lips before I realized I was on medication. Groaning, I put the glass down on the coffee table and glared at it. The pills Mike got the doctor to prescribe had reenergized me and given me a lot of strength back, but now it meant I couldn\'t get drunk. And right then, I really, really wanted to be drunk.
Mike cautiously stepped into the room and replaced the bottle and the glass with a soda can and cup of ice. He smiled sheepishly at me and I kept my eyes stuck on the television, refusing to look at him. He\'d been making out with my Savannah! What the fuck was wrong with him? My hand shook while I opened the can of soda. Damn it! I poured it into the glass and watched it fizz for a minute. He\'d had her in a trance, for crying out loud. Neither of them had noticed me standing in the doorway until I\'d spoken. And what had they been doing on her bed?
I downed half my drink and had to clench the cup with both hands to keep the ice from rattling against the sides. Okay, maybe running down the stairs and stomping all over the place hadn\'t been a good idea. I stretched out my legs and closed my eyes, taking a few deep breaths to steady myself.
Savannah was mine. What was wrong with Mike? What kind of guy just makes out with his friend\'s girlfriend?
I realized what I\'d just thought and groaned. There had to be something wrong with me. I put my cup down on the table and rolled over on my side, pressing a pillow to my chest. Savannah was my girlfriend, damn it… I mean, she wasn\'t my girlfriend, but Mike shouldn\'t have been kissing her… Fuck, she\'d even been making those soft little whimpering noises she\'d made while we were having sex! That was mine!
There was a shifting sound behind me and I knew Mike was sitting down on the arm of the couch. He leaned over and hesitantly stroked my hair. I pretended to be asleep, but he knew me better. \"I swear I\'ll tickle you if you don\'t look at me,\" he said jokingly, fingers tracing my ear. I sighed just to acknowledge him and he accepted it. \"Listen, Jason, I didn\'t mean to go that far. I really… didn\'t mean to go that far,\" he whispered. He sounded like he felt awful but I still wanted to punch him. \"We were talking… for Christ\'s sake, we were talking about you two staying together! She was just… she looked so… and we were…\"
Sitting up, I swiveled to face him and narrowed my eyes. \"You were alone,\" I said, glaring at him. I\'d given him this exact reason on why I\'d started playing around with Savannah, and he\'d thrown it back in my face after he\'d interrupted my fantasy last night. Now who had the last laugh, huh? I smiled cruelly and shook my head. \"You were alone,\" I repeated. He wilted. \"And she was cute. You couldn\'t resist,\" I said. He bowed his head and rested his face in his hands. \"What exactly were you doing?\" I demanded. This was really bothering me, more than I wanted it to. \"Just kissing her? If you wanted her in bed--\"
He clenched his fists and quickly stood up, shaking. \"Damn it Jason I am sorry, okay?\" He stared at me for a minute before swallowing hard and looking away. He was blushing. \"I wasn\'t even thinking of kissing her. I didn\'t mean to do that, but she didn\'t stop me and… you know I have never touched one of your girls before,\" he said. His knuckles were white and he was speaking through clenched teeth.
\"First time\'s the charm,\" I said.
\"I\'m feeling bad enough already!\" he snapped. \"I took advantage of her and I don\'t need you--\"
\"Whoa,\" I said, staring at him. He faltered and sighed, looking down. \"Took advantage of her how? From my point of view she looked like she was kissing back--\"
He snorted and crossed his arms over his chest. His eyes flashed and he took a step towards me. \"Like she knew any better than to let me do it,\" he snapped. \"You made her cry, Jason. She was huddled in the bathtub when I came in. She was too upset to make me stop, she was looking for comfort and… I took advantage of that.\" He watched me for a minute while I shook my head, trying to fathom that. \"Unlike you,\" he sneered, \"I have a conscience.\"
\"I\'m standing right here,\" Savannah said softly, her hand resting on the doorway.
I stood up and walked over to her, which I don\'t think she expected. She recoiled a little bit when I lifted my arm and draped it around her shoulders; that really cut me. I pressed my hand to her cheek and titled her head up. She made a little muffled protest when I pushed my mouth against hers, but her lips parted for my tongue easily enough, and after a second she put her hands on my back and pulled me closer to her. The denim dress had a strange texture, but I could feel her slim form squirming under it and I knew she was enjoying the kiss, even if she didn\'t want to.
When I was done I gently nipped her earlobe. \"You\'re a sweet little thing, Savvy,\" I breathed in her ear. She looked a little dazed, and didn\'t move away from me. I took advantage of that to run my hands over her curves. Stupid Mike, I thought, smirking to myself. I kissed her temple and chuckled softly. He never should\'ve touched her neck, she wasn\'t going to want to go back to him now. \"Come sit and watch a movie with me,\" I said, moving my hands down to the hem of her dress. She shivered as I pulled it up just enough to touch the backs of her thighs.
\"Jason,\" she said, her hands still on my back, \"…we… need to talk,\" she mumbled.
\"I think I\'m going to leave,\" Mike muttered.
Savvy stuck her hand out to stop him. \"Wait,\" she said. I bristled and reached out to pull her hand off him. She glared at me for a second before turning back towards Mike. \"I can\'t do this myself,\" she told him. He reluctantly stayed put and it was all I could do not to knock him down.
Shaking slightly, Savannah smoothed her hair back and put her hands on my shoulders. I tensed up, bracing myself for whatever dread thing she was about to tell me. \"Jason… you… seemed really angry,\" she mumbled. \"And I don\'t get why, I mean, more has happened than that and you didn\'t care… if you just want… if you just want \'benefits\'…\"
\"Mike and Jack are completely different people,\" I growled, furious I had to do this with Mike in the room. \"You aren\'t going to be around Jack that often, but you see Mike nearly every day.\" Didn\'t she get that? Mike was my best friend and Jack was just some idiot she might never see again. There was… there was a chance of a real relationship developing between her and Mike. I… couldn\'t stand even the thought of that.
She shook her head. \"Why do you care who it is if you don\'t want a relationship?\" she asked. A wicked smile suddenly spread over Mike\'s face at those words and something in me went cold. I did not like the direction this conversation was heading in. Savvy just stared up at me, waiting for me to answer.
I cleared my throat. \"Listen, I don\'t care,\" I said, feeling a twinge of guilt at the look that passed over her eyes. \"But I do not want it to be Michael Graham, okay?\" I hissed. Mike flinched at hearing his full name.
Savannah cocked her head to the side, wide-eyed and innocent as could be. The sight made me horrified: she knew exactly what she was doing here. I didn\'t want to hear any of this. I could picture the cliff she was about to push me off and I wanted to be mute. \"That doesn\'t make any sense, Jason. If all you want is sex than it shouldn\'t matter--\"
\"Well it does!\" I said, letting go of her. I took a few steps back and lowered myself onto the couch. Mike had a smug look on his face and he… he put his arm around her waist! \"It matters,\" I said. I knew I was digging myself deeper, but I didn\'t see the brakes anywhere. \"I don\'t want to see you with him again.\"
She put her hands on her hips. Mike pulled her tightly up to his chest and started kissing her cheek. She acted like she didn\'t even notice and just watched me. \"Why, Jason? Why does it matter?\" she asked quietly, her eyes dark.
If my ribs didn\'t ache so much, I would\'ve promised to punch Mike out if I ever caught him touching her again. But my head was starting to ache and when I told Savvy I should\'ve stayed in bed, I meant it. I was tired. Instead of responding I looked away and stared at the television, hoping they would just leave. Mike was licking her ear! What was wrong with those two? Why were they torturing me?
Mike laughed. \"This is really getting to him.\" I glanced at them and saw his hands were massaging her hips. Wetting my lips, I looked back at the television. Seeing Jack and Mrs. Haisley have their way with Savannah hadn\'t bothered me as much as this. Seeing Rich spank her, now, that had made me angry. I ducked my head and smiled a little as I thought of Mrs. Haisley punishing him.
The phone rang and Savvy sighed, pointedly stomping as she went off to answer it. She came back in a few minutes later and thrust it in my face. \"It\'s Cheryl,\" she said, hissing the name like it was toxic waste. She wiped her hand off on her dress when I took the phone from her.
Why was she calling me, I wondered. \"Hello?\" I said into the phone, turning away from Mike and Savvy.
\"Jase!\" she chirped. Her voice was loud enough for Savannah to hear and she angrily pivoted and left, Mike hovering in the doorway for a minute before following her. I rubbed my eyes, Cherry\'s loud tone hurting my head. And, of course, making Savvy even angrier at me. \"I just called to apologize,\" she said, and I could picture her filing her nails while she talked into the speakerphone. She always used speakerphone. I hoped no one else was around. \"About the party day before yesterday. I was the one who called everyone and told them not to come. I didn\'t mean to make it boring for you, really, I\'m sorry Jase,\" she said, voice getting more sugary with every word.
I closed my eyes and sighed. \"What\'re you talking about? What party?\" We\'d just grilled a few things.
Cherry laughed softly. \"The party at the Haisley\'s, silly,\" she said. I still didn\'t understand what she was talking about, Jack had invited just me and Savvy over for lunch. Admittedly it\'d turned into much more, but most things at the Haisley\'s had the tendency to do that. \"There was going to be a big get-together but I called and got everyone to cancel because of the weather. Mrs. Haisley moved it ahead, day before Christmas. Four days from now.\"
\"Why\'d you call these people?\" I asked, grabbing my soda. I sipped on it slowly this time, hoping it would do something to make this damned headache go away. The medication had done a lot for my cough and weakness, but I didn\'t ask Mike to get anything for my head. I wondered idly if Savvy had bought any Advil at the pharmacy.
She was quiet for a minute before finally answering. \"You were a bit of a prick at the store,\" she said bluntly. She probably picked up a bottle of liquid for a base coat for her nails, working on her beauty routine was something she always liked to do while she was chatting. \"You barely gave me a second glance when I tried to get your attention, Jase, that wasn\'t very nice. I stomped off to the office to make all those calls because I knew Jack would invite you to the party, and honestly I just didn\'t want you to have any fun with… Hannah?\"
\"Savannah,\" I said, certain she knew full well what the brunette\'s name was. It was like her to pout like this.
She cleared her throat. \"Her,\" she said, sneering a little. She sighed and quickly recovered. She was probably putting the base coat on her second hand by now. \"Anyway, I was upset, and I wanted to say that I was sorry. I hope I didn\'t ruin your day, but I heard Rich dropped by, so the chances of that aren\'t very good, are they?\"
Actually, thanks to you, it seems Rich had a chance to rape Savannah, I thought, grimacing. I didn\'t like to think that it was indeed a rape, though in the back of my mind I knew it was. And that fact, unfortunately, was more my fault than Cherry\'s, even if her cancellations made everything possible. \"No, it wasn\'t a very good day,\" I grunted, letting her know something bad had happened. I think it made her happy.
Practically singing with glee, she giggled a little. \"Aw, I\'m sorry,\" she said again. \"Can I make it up to you? Maybe we can meet up at the party in a few days… it\'s a masquerade,\" she said. I flinched, God, I hated those things. Jack always dressed for shock value and half the time it was a bigger mood killer than the revealing costumes that Rich always made sure to wear. \"Maybe we could coordinate our costumes,\" Cherry said.
I pulled the phone away from my ear and stared at it for a minute. Cherry was being more presumptuous than usual, which for her was really saying something. She\'d always wanted us to dress alike while we were dating, but come on, we broke up a year ago. And she\'d seen me drooling all over Savvy. What was she thinking? \"Cherry, I don\'t even know if I\'ll be able to go to the party,\" I moaned, sliding down on the couch. Not that I wouldn\'t like to see her in that red corset, next to Savannah in something equally as revealing… \"I\'m not feeling very well.\"
\"Aw you poor baby,\" Cherry cooed. She really meant it, too, wasn\'t being sarcastic. If Savvy said something like that sarcasm would be entwined in every syllable. \"Is it a cold? Fever? Maybe it\'d be best if I came over…\" She giggled again and I guessed she was picking a colored nail polish out of her makeup bag. \"I could give you a bath,\" she said.
Shit, I thought, gritting my teeth. I did not want to think about Savannah giving me a bath, damn it, I was trying to be angry with her for making out with Mike. \"My friends are… taking care of me,\" I said, shaking my head. Taking care of me in their own special way. I wouldn\'t be surprised if my pills put me to sleep later, so they could do something without risk of me walking in on them.
\"Friends?\"
\"Mike\'s here,\" I told her. I heard her take a deep breath and rolled my eyes. She had tried to coax me into a threesome with her and Mike more than once, she really wanted him. Mainly because he didn\'t want her in the least. \"He and Savannah are taking fine care of me.\"
\"Then you\'ll be able to come to the party,\" Cherry said, her voice light. I laid down on the couch, resting my head on the arm, and sighed. She could definitely be persistent when she wanted to. \"I was thinking of going as an angel, Jase, I have the best white dress… I could drop a devil costume by for you, if you\'d like that,\" she said.
\"Just a minute,\" I said. I hit mute on the phone and took a deep breath. \"Mike!\" I yelled. A minute or two passed before his footsteps echoed in the hallway, and then he poked his head through the doorway. He was blushing slightly, and still had his shirt off. I tensed, wondering where Savannah was. \"Do you want to go to a costume party at the Haisleys in four days?\" I asked him, glaring. I hated thinking he\'d taken so long to respond because he\'d been with Savannah when I called.
He raised his eyebrows at me. It always struck me as strange that he dyed his eyebrows white along with his hair, but I guess it would look strange otherwise. What really looked weird was when he got too lazy to shave and walked around with a black beard and white hair. \"Would Savannah be going too?\" he asked. \"After what happened…\"
Never should\'ve told him what happened. \"She\'ll be fine,\" I assured him. \"Do you want to go?\"
\"Yeah, you should be better by then. I\'ll take Savannah into town day before and get all of our costumes.\"
I hit mute again and coughed to let Cheryl know I was back. \"Mike will drop by the store the day before the party,\" I said, running my hand through my hair. \"If I\'m not sick anymore, then you\'ll see me,\" I said, refusing to make a commitment. It would be wonderful if I could coax Savvy into staying here while Mike went, so we could have some alone time and I could show her I was a better kisser than Mike. A far better kisser.
\"Get well, Jase,\" she said softly.
\"Bye.\" I hung up and threw the phone onto the coffee table, sighing heavily. God, I was exhausted. I wanted to get into bed and go back to sleep, but that would require climbing the stairs. Instead, I made myself content on the couch.
I\'d totally forgotten that Mike was still in the doorway. He cleared his throat and sat down on the floor in front of the couch, obviously intending to start a conversation. Not something I particularly wanted to engage in. \"Do you honestly think that Savannah will be okay with going back to the Haisley\'s?\" he asked after a minute. I didn\'t respond because I knew the answer, and I didn\'t like it. \"Convincing Rich not to bother her will be really hard,\" Mike said.
\"I told Mrs. Haisley that he hit Savannah. She\'ll take care of him,\" I said, yawning pointedly. I wanted Mike to leave me the fuck alone already. But he made no attempt to move or even acknowledge my yawn.
Mike idly fingered one of his earrings. \"Are you planning on letting Savannah have sex?\"
\"No.\"
\"What if she wants to?\" he asked. \"What are you going to do if she finds someone she wants to sleep with? From what I\'ve heard you\'ve angled her into all of this. Are you going to let her enjoy sex with someone other than you, or are you going to get all possessive and ruin her time?\" he said, all in one breath.
\"You will never have sex with her, Michael,\" I growled. \"She is mine.\"
He huffed and turned around, his eyes glinting. \"I wasn\'t implying that we might have sex,\" he said roughly. I shook my head and closed my eyes. If I hadn\'t known him for so long I might have believed him. However, we\'d been friends since we were kids, and I knew his crushes snuck up on him and once he got one, it was hard to let go.
There was no use in arguing, though. I took a few deep breaths and tried to act like I was asleep, I even threw out a couple of light snores. I don\'t think it fooled him but he left anyway. When I was sure he was gone, I opened my eyes and stared at the fire for a while. Eventually I clenched my fists and rolled over.
Mike had told Savvy about my father and brother, and I didn\'t like that. My uncle had succeeded in killing himself when my aunt died, and several of my cousins drank themselves into the grave after their wives ran off together. The men of my family always joked about having a curse on them and praying for daughters. No male in my family handled losing their loves well. I\'d grown up with that legacy and the assurance that I\'d go insane if I ever lost a woman I loved.
Strangely enough, though, I had a gay uncle whose partner died in a horrible fire, and he was able to move on and was living with someone else now. For a while I had actually hoped I was gay, and I was actually a little disappointed when I figured out I wasn\'t.
I hadn\'t wanted Savvy to know that. Whenever I thought about it, I felt stupid for being afraid. I kept telling myself that I was different from my family. Because I was. I was different from my family. I wouldn\'t end up like them.
Once, I told that to Mike, and he just scowled and said, \'Because you\'ll never fall in love? Give me a break. You were made for somebody, Jason, don\'t think you won\'t find her some day.\'
Like hell. I wasn\'t made for love.
Would Savannah accept that as an answer? Damn. If she asked me why I didn\'t want a relationship, that was the answer I was going to give her, whether she liked it or not. Because it was the truth, damn it. I just wasn\'t cut out for a relationship, and she was going to have to accept that. We would play around for a while until… Until what? Until she found a boyfriend? She\'d just shown me that I was the biggest hypocrite in the world, that I didn\'t want her in a relationship with anyone but me, but at the same time I didn\'t want a relationship.
Shit, this was all so annoying. I stretched and pushed all my thoughts away, except the image of Cherry and Savvy together at the party. I smiled a little and couldn\'t help but chuckle. Savannah had looked so cute and flustered when Cherry started hitting on her; I wanted to see that expression on their faces again, Cherry predatory and Savannah so unsure of herself.
Then again, Cherry always looked predatory. The only time I knew of her breaking that attitude was when I\'d called her to break up. Her crying had made my ear sore for days. She should\'ve seen it coming, though. I warned her at the beginning that I wasn\'t a commitment sort of guy. Maybe she\'d thought she could change me. I wondered vaguely if Savvy thought she could change me, too, and it made me wince. I didn\'t want to see her cry like Cheryl had.
I didn\'t want to see Savvy cry, period.
The sound of her giggling from upstairs made me look at the ceiling. The noise was quickly followed by the soft rumble of Mike\'s voice. My hand tightened into a fist as I stared up, wishing I could the wood planks were invisible and I could see exactly what they were doing. I didn\'t want them making out again, I didn\'t want Mike to put his arms around my Savannah and…
I grit my teeth. Mike would never make her cry, and there was a ninety-nine percent chance that I would. The best thing would be for me to just back off and let her find someone who wouldn\'t hurt her. No, not the best thing. She would be crushed if I brushed her off like that. It was an option, though… and something told me it was the right option. The right thing to do.
But since when have I ever done the right thing?
~*~ Savannah\'s POV ~*~
I tiptoed around Jason for the next few days. He seemed depressed, and he hardly ever talked. Mostly he just stared out into space and was so absorbed in his thoughts he barely noticed the world around him. It made me worried, and I read and reread the bottle of pills Mike had gotten him. Eventually I found a little warning printed on the side: May cause mood swings, headaches, loss of appetite, nightmares, sleepwalking, and depression. I shook my head and put the bottle back in the cabinet where Jason could find it. Why did medicine always have to cause these horrible side effects? Why did the things we took to make us better run the risk of making us worse?
His fever broke after two nights, and he started to get back some of his strength on the third. His appetite was still nonexistent, but the color was back in his face. If he\'d still been pale, I never would\'ve left him alone at the cabin. But Mike said we had to go into town and buy more food and our costumes for the Christmas Eve party tomorrow.
I shifted uncomfortably and crossed my legs. It\'d taken some convincing for Mike to drive Jason\'s car into town, rather than plunking me on the back of his motorcycle. He thought I was just scared to ride on one of those things, but the truth was I didn\'t think I could handle sitting so close to him, having to wrap my arms around him to keep myself in place. Maybe he felt differently but I kept getting hot and wet whenever I thought about him. It was starting to get really annoying, especially when we were both together with Jason.
Jason seemed to have this psychic link to me, he knew whenever I started to feel aroused, and he always gave me these looks like he could see right through me. It made me feel gross and ashamed, especially since Jason had been really nice to me over these past few days, even though he\'d been quiet. He didn\'t get angry when Mike and I hugged or when he kissed my cheek. And in turn, I tried not to get angry when Cheryl called him.
Downsides of going to the store with Mike: I had to be away from Jason. Jason was at the cabin alone. I had to speak with Cheryl, and I had to be cordial since Mike would slap me upside the head if I called her out for being a bitch.
Upsides of going to the store with Mike: I got to pick out my costume, and Cheryl couldn\'t pull anything by giving me something skimpy or overly sexy. I got to be alone with Mike for the car ride there and back.
He tapped his fingers against the steering wheel in tune with the music on the radio. He probably had no idea how he was affecting me all of a sudden. I touched my lips and looked out my window, at the green and white blur of snow-covered trees as we sped down the salt-covered road. Time and time again, I remembered his kisses. They\'d been gentle and passionate all at once, and thinking of them now made my knees weak. I closed my eyes and rested my head against the frosted windowpane.
That morning, it\'d been too much. When I took my shower, I\'d… masturbated. While thinking of Mike.
Well, that wasn\'t entirely true. I\'d thought of Mike and Jason. Their faces and figures had kind of flitted back and forth, I hadn\'t really been able to concentrate on one or the other. Mike was in the fantasy for a few seconds before Jason took his place, and Jason flipped me over on my stomach once, but Mike was the one to take advantage of that vulnerable position. I dug my fingers into my hair and sighed, making Mike glance at me. It was all so confusing.
Mike was quiet. I could hear the conversation we would be having if we weren\'t so damned uncomfortable around each other. Something wrong?
I bit my lip. No, not really.
He slowly pulled to a halt at the first light coming into town. Not really? I know what that means.
Feeling sick, I crossed my legs. I don\'t really feel comfortable talking about it.
He turned the radio down a little when it blasted a song he didn\'t like. Is it about Jason?
I rubbed my eyes. Sort of. It\'s… about you, too.
He waved to let someone pass us. Me?
I bent over, my stomach brushing my knees. Yeah. I had a sex dream about you last night. And I masturbated this morning in the shower, only I kept confusing your face with Jason\'s. I\'m starting to think that our little group is well overdue for a threesome. Sure. I would never, ever say that out loud. It was hard to say it in my head.
We pulled into the parking lot of the clothing store and I immediately glanced up at the second floor. The lights shone through the windows, and I could see the outlines of racks of clothing. For a minute I kept staring, but I didn\'t see the figure of any busty blonde walking around. Mike put his hand on my shoulder and I jumped. \"Let\'s go inside,\" he murmured, concern in his eyes. I didn\'t take the bait; I didn\'t tell him why I kept sighing. \"It\'s cold out here.\"
Tugging on the collar of my denim jacket, I smiled weakly. \"I\'m good for another five minutes,\" I told him, showing off the warm quilted liner of the coat. He chuckled half-heartedly and we eased out of the car, ignoring the blushes we\'d got looking at each other. This was going to be harder than I\'d thought it would.
The clerk downstairs was too involved in her magazine to notice us. Mike and I walked up the stairs, clutching the railing as the steps swayed slightly underneath us. I stared at the back of his head, my chest aching. The dream I\'d had the night before had been worse than the masturbation fantasy. He\'d (in the dream) been so gentle with me that I\'d woken up crying. What was wrong with me? Was tenderness so foreign that… I don\'t know. All I knew was that it hurt to think about how Jason and Mike had started looking at me in the same way, and how they approached satisfying themselves so differently, and how I liked both of them.
God, I felt like a blow up doll.
\"Cheryl?\" Mike called out when we reached the second floor. He stuck his hands into the pockets of his painter\'s jeans and looked around. I reluctantly joined in his visual search for the tall blonde, but I didn\'t see Cheryl\'s head bobbing above any of the clothing racks. Mike shrugged. \"Maybe she\'s in her office?\" he asked the room.
He went off in that direction and I walked to my left, towards a wall of various costumes. I would\'ve been a lot more comfortable with buying a costume if we\'d been at Party City, but the town was too small for one of those. As it was, I was stuck here, and my eyes scanned the wall for the least provocative option. Hooker was out. Cat-girl was out. So was sailor, cop, and a dozen other things. And I wasn\'t going as a nun.
Slim fingers curling overtop my eyes made me jump. \"Guess who!\" Cheryl said. I bristled, hating her for scaring me like that. She licked the cup of my ear when I didn\'t answer right away, and she pushed herself up against my back. \"Aw come on, Anna. Have some fun why don\'t you?\"
\"It\'s Savannah,\" I said, pushing her hands off me. \"Where\'s Mike?\" I asked, turning around. I had no desire to be alone with Cheryl if she was in the mood to flirt. She was dressed to kill, alright, in a frosted pink ice-skating dress that matched her nail polish and lipstick. I\'d forgotten just how tall she was, though, and I couldn\'t see past her.
She smiled and wrapped her arms around my waist. I started to squirm, remembering what she\'d done last time I was here, and I was uncomfortably aware that my cunt felt a lot hotter now that we were touching. She ran her tongue over her teeth and stared down at me, green eyes sparkling. \"Mike\'s here?\" she asked innocently. Oh man, I thought, shivering slightly. I started to step back and she moved her hands down to cup my ass, effectively freezing me in place.
Blushing, I cleared my throat and said, \"Cheryl…\" but my voice stuck after that. She was less than subtly squeezing my butt, her fingers exploring the curves underneath my jeans. \"What\'re you doing?\" I asked, knowing the answer. My head was pounding, where the hell was Mike and why wasn\'t he running over here?
One of her hands slid around to my front, and before I could protest (or decide whether or not to protest, really) she was stroking my cunt through my jeans. I bit my lip and turned my head to the side. She had my shoulders pressed against the wall of costumes, and her arms pretty much locked me in place, but if I had made a commotion she probably would\'ve let me go. But I was silent as she dug her fingers into me as far as the denim would allow.
She was leaning in for a kiss when Mike\'s footsteps snapped me out of my daze. I shoved Cheryl away and pivoted, trying to make it look like I was examining the costumes. She stumbled backwards but managed to catch herself. I blushed, running my finger over a baby-doll dress that made me gag. He hugged me from behind, sighing softly in my ear, and wet my lips. \"You see anything you like?\" he asked, keeping his arms around me.
Cheryl giggled and I glared at her. \"This stuff is all so skimpy,\" I muttered, turning around. Mike kept his arms circling my waist, and I timidly put my hands on his shoulders. \"I may just go downstairs and put something together from the normal clothes,\" I said. And I really meant it, until I saw his eyes get all disappointed for a second. He instantly brushed it off, but I resolved to get one of the real costumes anyway. I wondered what he\'d like to see me in.
\"What do you think we should get for Jason?\" he asked, looking along the wall. It made me smile, thinking that he wanted to see me in lingerie, that he\'d be upset if I picked out something else. I knew Jason would be upset.
I glanced a Bo-Peep costume and laughed. \"It\'d be hilarious if we got him a dress,\" I said, putting my hand over my mouth to hide my smirk. He would kill me if I tried to put him in a dress, but it\'d be worth it for a picture.
Mike chuckled in my ear and I smiled coyly and snuggled closer to him. \"You like men in dresses?\" he teased, rubbing my back. \"I can always go as a schoolgirl.\" His fingers brushed the hem of my shirt, and with it, skin, and we stared at each other for a second before Cheryl coughed and made us step away from each other, faces red.
She was smirking at us, and I clenched my fists. She\'d called Jason so much in the past few days, it was obvious she still had feelings for him. She must\'ve been downright giddy to see Mike and me cuddling. He nervously tugged on his black leather jacket and walked over to Cheryl. \"What\'re you going as, Cherry?\" he asked, kissing her cheek. See, I told myself, a little bitterly, he\'s affectionate with everyone.
She reached up and cupped his face in her hands. He pulled her against him and they kissed, slowly, making open use of each other\'s tongues. I rolled my eyes and told myself I wasn\'t jealous, that my heart belonged completely to Jason, but it hurt to see Mike touching Cheryl like that. I\'d completely forgotten that if Jason knew Cheryl, Mike had to know her too, and with the Haisley\'s around Mike and Cheryl had probably seen each other naked, if not had sex.
When they were done, she ran her frosted pink nails through his hair. \"I was going to go as an angel,\" she said, leaning against him. He was stroking her back. \"I have wings and a halo and glittery makeup. I just need some white heels, don\'t you think that\'ll be cute?\" she asked him.
\"Adorable,\" he said, smiling.
She touched his earlobes. \"I love your earrings.\"
He looked smug, and I almost slapped him, but I didn\'t move, startled that Cheryl was managing to make me so angry by doing so little. \"I was thinking of going as a pirate,\" he said, rubbing his jaw. That made Cheryl cackle. \"You think you can get me a good swashbuckling outfit, Cherry?\" he asked.
She glanced towards me and I took a step backwards. \"Yeah,\" she told Mike. \"And we can get Janna a matching one, I have some cute things that would look great with fishnet stockings,\" she said, stroking Mike\'s chin. \"I know you love fishnet stockings,\" she murmured.
Oh, no, she was not going to do this. I crossed my arms over my chest, demurely bit down on my lip, and shyly cast my eyes down, noticing that Mike\'s blush came back at the sight. \"What would Jason like?\" I asked quietly.
\"He\'d like the pirate thing,\" Mike said quickly.
Cheryl slapped the back of his head. \"Jason doesn\'t like fishnets, you know that,\" she said. I stared at Mike, my heart skipping a beat. Did he really want to see me in that thing? Cheryl looped her arm through mine and started rambling on about the types of clothing Jason would want to see me in. I was a little suspicious of what she was saying, but most of it fell along the lines of the costume she\'d described for herself, so I figured she was genuinely trying to help. This was business after all, and she was trying to make a sale that I wouldn\'t return the day after.
\"What are you trying to show off?\" Cheryl asked, touching my hair.
I gave her a quizzical look. \"What do you mean?\" I asked, confused.
Her hand ran down my side, and I swallowed hard. \"Where do you want people to be looking?\" she asked, stepping in front of me for a better look. She smiled and her fingers brushed my nipples, hard in the cold air of the store. I glanced over at Mike, who at that moment was shutting the door to the customer bathroom. Damn it. \"You have a good chest. Or would you rather show off your legs?\" She dropped to her knees and started squeezing my calves. \"It would help if you\'d try some things on,\" she said, her voice crisp and business-like.
\"Um… alright,\" I said weakly. A picture of her lapping at my pussy had popped into my head. \"Trying on things,\" I stuttered awkwardly, stepping back. \"That sounds good.\"
It bothered me that I was lusting after someone I had no feelings for, someone that I disliked. I still wanted to think that sex was still about love.
Even though I knew full well it wasn\'t.
A/N: So, since I can\'t decide, I thought I\'d see if you guys wanted to vote on Savvy\'s costume. I was thinking schoolgirl or fairy, but if you have any other suggestions I\'m open to ideas. You can leave it in a review, comment on my LJ or e-mail me if you want.
