Proposal

Co-written with Aya

A/N: We hate to disappoint anyone, but the asked for action between Haru and Tatsuya does not happen. At least not in this story. ^^ Once again thank you for the reviews! They are greatly appreciated.

Ruka sighed curling up on the floor, his head to his knees. He had to go back to the room and put make-up on. Daisuike was going to kill him and demand to know where the bruise came from. What was he going to say? Tell him his brother hit him? Then he'd ask why and he didn't want to ruin his surprise.

"Ano . . . Ruka?"

Ruka jerked, surprised to hear Haru's voice. It scared the shit out of him. Was he here to tell him more than he'd never let him marry his brother? Scrambling to stand he stared at Haru hoping that it didn't look like he was crying. He hadn't been. They had been angry tears.

He'd never admit it but he was torn between asking Daisuike now. If even just one of his brothers was against it, he couldn't very well make Daisuike choose between him and them. It wasn't fair to him.

"Y-Yeah?"

"L-listen Ruka about earlier . . . I'm sorry. I was totally out of line. It just . . . I'm sorry. I want Daisuike to be happy and you make him happier than anything ever could. If-if you guys want to get married it's fine with me." He couldn't meet the other man's eyes. "I'm sorry about hitting you. I've never been very good at keeping my temper in check. Did . . . did I hurt you?"

Ruka stared at him, shocked. Was he apologizing to him? Yeah, he was and that meant he was going to allow Daisuike to marry him. With the bruise quickly forgotten he bowed to Haru, a smile on his face.

"Th-thank you Haru! I- I swear I'll make him happy. I- I love him. No matter what I will make him happy. I only truly wanted his brother’s approval before I ask him. Thank you. . ." He bowed again smiling at him, which made him hiss softly, touching the side of his face. "It's alright. . . It'll be fine."

"Fuck. Suke is gonna beat the shit out of me." Haru grabbed Ruka's arm looking at the bruise. "Shit, I didn't even hit you that hard. I'll go tell Suke what happened. I won't say anything about why exactly, so don't worry about that. He knows I tend to loose my temper a lot."

Didn't hit him that hard!? What the hell was Haru smoking to make him think that the punch hadn't been hard? Ruka shook his head slowly, feeling bad that Haru was somewhat upset.

"No, it's fine. Don't worry about it. I'll just tell him later. I'll make some excuse. I don't want Daisuike mad at you. I-It's fine, really it is." Ruka shifted looking away, feeling stupid.

"He's been mad at me often enough I don't really give a fuck." Haru glanced back toward the conference rooms wondering if Tatsuya had left already. "Any way you might want to tell that pretty little friend of yours thanks. He was the one that talked some sense into me.

He let go of Ruka and stepped back. "Sorry for the trouble."

Ruka blinked then slowly nodded. "I can understand you not wanting Daisuike hurt, he's your little brother but I promise I'll not let anyone hurt him. He's my world and I'll do anything to make sure he's happy. I won't let anyone hurt him. . ." Shaking his head he smiled, "It's fine. But- wait Tatsuya talked to you? That little shit. . ." Sighing he rubbed his neck smiling still. "But just to let you know, it's fine if you hit me, but if you ever punch Tatsuya, you'll have the whole circuit on your ass so watch your temper around him."

"You don't have to worry about that." Haru looked at him for a moment before heading back down the hall. "I might be hot tempered but I'm not stupid. Usually. Oh and if you ever tell anyone I apologized to you I'll kick your ass."

Ruka laughed, "Alright. I'll keep it our little secret Haru, but you best be at the wedding and not drunk or something!" He smiled some before heading off on his own trying to find Daisuike. He wanted to drag him back to the hotel, though he had a feeling people were going to want rides around the track.

Maybe he could put it off for a while. He really just wanted to get back to the room and push Daisuike against the nearest wall.

Spotting his lover talking to people, he walked over to him, wrapping his arms around his waist pulling him close, breathing softly against his ear as he spoke, "Can we go? I'm feeling a bit anxious." And horny which Daisuike could definitely feel as he pulled him closer. His mind had wandered too much when he had been looking for Daisuike. He wanted nothing more than to find a nice dark corner and get things taken care of.

Daisuike smiled his cheeks warming as he felt Ruka against him. "Hai, I'm getting a bit worn out anyway."

He turned to look at Ruka slipping out of his grip. His eyes widened and he grabbed Ruka. "What happened? Who . . . Haru, that son of a bitch really needs to learn to control his temper!"

He let go of Ruka ready to go find his brother and beat some sense into him. He knew Haru had been upset and obviously had taken out his anger on the first person to approach him. It wouldn't have been the first time something like that had happened. "I'm going to kick his ass."

Ruka instantly grabbed Daisuike's arm stopping him from leaving. He really didn't want Daisuike being upset with his brother, it just wasn't good, especially after they had made up. which no one would know. Though Ruka really wondered what Tatsuya had said to Haru to get him to change his mind about things.

"Wait, don't. It's fine. It's my fault anyways." Pulling him back closer to him he smiled stroking his cheek, "Don't worry. We talked it over and things are okay again. I just provoked him a bit, I'm sorry." Leaning down he kissed his forehead before leaning to to his ear, "Let's go back to our room. . ."

"Actually that sounds like a very good idea." Daisuike let himself relax. If Ruka said things were alright, he would leave it at that. He'd not been around Haru enough to know what a short temper the man had. Getting off with just one bruise was a good thing. "I'm still going to talk to him about it though. He's been getting better about controlling his temper lately . . . I wonder if the thing with Tatsuya set him off."

Ruka smiled touching him softly before tugging him along, "I think so. Tatsuya does that to people so I'm sorry." He gently took his hand stroking it. "Come on, I really just want to get back. Did you want to go out for dinner?"

Leading him back to the car he felt his heart pounding. He was setting everything up in his mind and he wanted things go to perfectly. Though things had gotten a bit messed up already but it hopefully would go better now.

Daisuike sighed shrugging as he got into the car. "It's not your fault. Haru gets mad if someone looks at him wrong. Dinner sounds great. The catered food was good, but I want something more to eat. Anywhere in particular you had in mind?"

He wasn't going to worrying about Haru anymore. Haru had nearly always kept to himself and obviously didn't want to be bothered, so he was just going to leave it for now.

"I'm thinking something a bit nice, so we need to go and change and get ready." He smiled realizing they would need to take a shower. Licking his lips he looked at Daisuike before starting the car and heading to the hotel. They'd already said goodbye to everyone so he wasn't too worried.

As they got to the hotel and he led Daisuike up smiling happily. As they got inside he couldn't stop himself as he shut the hotel door to back Daisuike up against it and kiss him, letting his hands caress his body.

Daisuike smiled at Ruka as they finally parted. "I guess asking if you are having fun would be a stupid question. I'm happy so many of your friends came."

He took Ruka's hand leading him into the bathroom so they could take their shower. He knew it was probably going to be a bit before they left, knowing Ruka, they might never leave. That would be just fine with him though. He loved nothing more than spending time with him.

"I had an excellent time. I've never done something so exciting in my life. You have no idea how happy I am. Especially since you rode with me. That was wicked." As they moved through the hotel he stripped their clothes off as they moved into the bathroom. Once he backed Daisuike up against the wall he smiled kissing his neck before adjusting the water temperature before moving back to attend to his lover's needs.

"Daisuike. . . You know I love you right?"

Daisuike frowned watching Ruka not really sure where he was going with this. It gave him an unsettled feeling. Why would Ruka ask him something like that? It gave Daisuike the feeling that Ruka was going to tell him something he might not want to hear. Daisuike looked at him suddenly worried.

"I know . . . are you, is this about me living with you? I can move back in with my brothers if it's getting to be too much."

Ruka shook his head kissing him stroking his hip lightly, "No. No that's not it at all. Far from it actually. Honestly I'd love to be able to live with you and your brothers, since I know that Akira misses you terribly." Leaning close he kissed his cheek holding him close.

"I just wanted to let you know. I would do anything for you." Kissing him once more he pulled him into the shower happily.

***

Daisuike looked over the clothes he had laid out on the bed wondering which outfit he should wear. This was usually about the time Akira would start making fun of him for what he called his clothes fetish. He did not have a clothes fetish, he just liked wearing nice clothes. He was surprised at the sudden pang, he missed Akira and his brothers. A lot more than he thought he would, even as much as he loved being with Ruka. Would Ruka seriously consider moving in with them instead of living at his apartment? He wouldn't ask Ruka to give up that much.

"Ano . . . which one should I wear tonight?"

Ruka smiled walking up behind Daisuike kissing his shoulder wrapping his arms around his waist. Looking over it at the clothes he smiled, "I like the white shirt and the black pants. The belt on the left and the shoes next to the nightstand look good." Kissing his neck he moved to get ready himself.

His heart was still pounding painfully and he was nervous to get dinner done and over with. Once it was finish he would finish setting everything up and ask his lover tonight to marry him.

Nodding Daisuike quickly got dressed and put the other clothes away. He couldn't quite pinpoint it, but something seemed slightly off with Ruka. It was as though he was nervous about something, and he couldn't figure out what would ever make Ruka nervous. Ruka didn't seem to get flustered over much and it made him wonder if it had something to do with Haru. He'd have to find out later exactly what went on between the two of them.

He ran his fingers through his hair trying to get it to lay right as he looked himself over in the mirror. He was more watching Ruka get dressed behind him than paying attention to what he was doing. Daisuike hoped that he would talk about whatever was bothering him over dinner.

Ruka nervously sat through dinner picking at his food as they ate. He was hungry but he was far too nervous to properly eat. He wanted to ask Daisuike at dinner but felt they needed their privacy. He wanted things perfect. The room was already perfect, having called the hotel to prepare it for him. Just cleaning it up and placing wine their for them was well enough. Desert would be there as well and he wanted to just get up and leave but decided to not.

Placing the food into his mouth he lifted his eyes to stare at Daisuike. He looked so beautiful and he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with this man. Not just because he was the most beautiful man alive, but because of who he was. He wanted to learn everything about him. Yes, they didn't know each other's emotional scars, but he was willing to learn just like Daisuike.

"How's dinner? I really liked the salad."

"It's good. I'm not a huge fan of salad but that was good." Daisuike looked across the table at him. Ruka had barely touched his dinner, mostly just moving it around the plate and nibbling at it. Had what happened with Haru bothered him that much? The bruise was faint, barely noticeable and it still infuriated Daisuike that Haru had dared to hit him, for whatever reason.

He set his utensils down and looked at Ruka. "Is something bothering you? You've barely touched your food. Is it Haru? I'll talk to him if you need me to, he should know better."

Ruka snapped his gaze up shaking his head. "No! That's not it! I-. . ." Taking a deep breath, he smiled softly looking at Daisuike, his heart beating so painful against his chest he wondered if Daisuike could hear it. He definitely could.

"I-. . . It's not Haru. I- . . . I actually have a surprise for you and I'm nervous you won't like it so I'm anxious to get back to the hotel and stuff." He smiled, "I love you and just want you to like it and I'm afraid you won't."

Daisuike sat back shaking his head. He chuckled softly before looking up at his gorgeous boyfriend. "I'm pretty sure that anything you get me I'm going to enjoy Ruka. You know I don't need anything though, just you. You don't have to get me anything at all Ruka."

He smirked for a moment, "Well maybe get me off, but that's a given with you."

Ruka sputtered on his water as he heard Daisuike's words. He hadn't expect that to come out of his mouth and he stared wide eyed at him for a moment before calming himself down from the coughs.

"I-. . . Ano. . ." He blushed ducking his head somewhat. "Yeah. . ." He licked his lips smiling softly. "Are you almost done? I don't think I'll be able to eat anything tonight until the surprise is over. Then I'll probably be eating you." He grinned wickedly at Daisuike.

Daisuike was surprised and pleased with himself that he'd been able to make Ruka blush for once. Then it was his turn to do the same and he ducked his head hoping no one was paying much attention to them. Ruka's words, as always, made his stomach do a weird flip flop.

"Ano, yeah I'm done." After that comment he wasn't going to be able to concentrate on dinner either.

Ruka smiled paying for their dinner before getting up and leading Daisuike from the restaurant. He was excited and didn't even bother with the looks that they got from strangers. As they got back to the hotel he paused outside the door, taking a breath.

"This is a big surprise so close your eyes and just so you don't peek. . ." He pulled out a blindfold that was nothing more than a strip of fabric. Moving to him, he kissed him wrapping it around his eyes. "I also have something for you to wear so when we get inside I'm going to change you."

Ruka smiled happily as he unlocked the door, taking Daisuike's hand.

Daisuike wasn't sure what to think of being blindfolded. He couldn't see anything more than softly filtered light through it. He was suddenly rather nervous as Ruka led him into the room. What kind of surprise would warrant all this? And changing clothes? It struck him a bit odd that Ruka would go through all of this just to surprise him. But then again he had done something similar just the other day. Though he had to wonder what Ruka had managed to get together in the short time they'd been here.

"Ano . . . are you sure this is entirely necessary Ruka?"

"Absolutely. I want this to be perfect." He smiled stopping Daisuike where he was, "Just stay here a second and let me get you your clothes." He kissed his cheek gently before grabbing the soft yukata and bringing it back. He quickly stripped himself and put on his own before he touched Daisuike's shoulder removing his shirt, kissing the soft skin as he revealed it, enjoying it far too much.

Once his clothes were off, he helped slipped the yukata on his lover smiling. He had lit the candles around the room dimming the lights as well and their dessert with their wine was set up already by the hotel staff. Ruka's heart pounded painfully and he couldn't stop it.

Standing he finished tying the yukata before leading him to the short table where their things were. Helping him sit down he sat across from him, smiling.

"You can take the blindfold off."

Slowly reaching up, Daisuike removed the blindfold blinking a few times. He was still getting over the feel of Ruka changing his clothes, those soft caresses almost more than he could stand. He glanced down confirming that Ruka had changed him into a yukata. He looked around the room then back at Ruka smiling softly. The low light seemed to highlight just how beautiful he really was and it made Daisuike's chest ache slightly

"You didn't have to do all this Ruka."

Ruka shook his head, "I wanted to do it. I . . . I love you and I want to show you how much you mean to me." He smiled pouring some wine for Daisuike. "I . . ." Ruka smiled softly hanging his head before lifting it and looking at Daisuike, smiling happily.

"Daisuike, you have no idea how much you mean to me. From the moment I met you, I knew it had to be you. I love you more than life itself and you fill the emptiness inside me. I know I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Without you by myself I would be lost and I know I need you. . . I need you more than the air I breathe. That is how much I need you Daisuike."

Reaching out he took his hand gently stroking it between his own staring at them. "I love you Kobayashi Daisuike. . . love you more than I thought possible to love someone." His heart was pounding painfully, his throat tightening and he had to wait for a moment before lifting his eyes.

"I never want you loose you and wouldn't be able to stand being apart from you. Ouji-sama. . ." He pause correcting himself, "Daisuike. . . Will you marry me?"
