Class Of 98 - 14

The next day we wake and start the wedding rushing. We went to have all of our hair done at about 9 a.m. We go to my mother's house at 10:30 a.m. and my mother, my grandmother, Jackie, and Mellissa help me in to the dress and with my make-up. "I have been dreaming about this day for years and here I am. I still think I am dreaming all of this and I will wake up any minute."

"Amy the first minute I became your friend I thought you were very shy. When Sean came in to your life you broke out of your shell overnight. I knew that the moment you told me about him that you and him were destined to be together forever. That was why I took and helped you two get back together. You two were meant for each other." Melissa said. "You helped me through some very bad times. You were always a true friend. You helped even when I said I did not need it. So I helped you and now you are going to walk down the aisle today and meet your future." She says holding my shoulders and looking in to the mirror in bedroom.

"I am glad you met some one like Sean. He and you are so much the same." My mother says kissing me.

"I have been waiting to hear that from you for years. Thanks." I say.

"I am glad for the same but I am also glad I can see you get married in person." My grandmother says kissing me.

"I told you that it would happen." I say to her kissing her on the forehead.

"Thank you Melissa, mom, grandma. You were the first friend I made here and you will always be my one of many best friends I will have over the years. I just hope you find someone you love and truly and deeply as I did." I say and smile.

"Now lets make sure you have everything. Something blue." Mellissa says.

"My garter." I say lifting my dress showing the garter belt.

"Something borrowed." Jackie says.

"These earrings." I say putting a pair of earrings in my ears.

"Something new." My mother says handing me a box. I open it.

"It is the cross I always wanted." I say. "But I do not have a chain for it."

"Something old." My grandmother says handing me another box. I open it. "This chain has been passed down from generation to generation on a granddaughters wedding day."

"Thank you grandma." I say getting up and hugging her.

"Your welcome sweetie." She says kissing my cheek.

"Here let me help you put that on." My uncle says coming in to the room. I put the cross on to the chain and he helps me put it on. "There."

Jennifer knocks. "One of the limos is here." I look over at a clock. It says 12:00 p.m.

"Well I had better go with the others." My uncle says. He, aunt Sherri, Cathy, Raul, and Mark leave.

"Well one hour until you go to the alter." My mother says.

"Yea." I say sitting on Jackie's bed. Chris, Kim, and Maggie walk in their bride's maid's gowns.

"What is wrong?" Mellissa asks sitting next to me.

"After what happened years ago I had thought I would never see this day." I say.

"Amy, that is in the past. You dealt with it then and now you are here. You do belong together forever." Kim says.

"I did not know what you meant when you would tell me of how much you love Sean. I thought you were foolish when you would cry about him all the time. That was till I found Bobby. Then I knew what you were going through." Chris says.

"When you first talked about him your voice was full of happiness, of love. But after you guys broke up like you did when you talked of him constantly. That happiness was filled with despair, and that love was hopelessness. I was glad you finally got back together with him. He has made you better." Maggie says.

"I should have known Sean's love is stronger that all that." I say.

The doorbell rings. My grandmother answers it. "It is our limo's." I look at the clock. It is 12:30.

"Well here we go." I say.

"Well let's get this on you." My mother says putting the veil on top of my head.

"Here is your bouquet." My grand mother says. I stand up and take the flowers.

We look in to the mirror and turn to Mellissa. "The dress is so beautiful. "Thanks again." I say hugging Melissa.

"No problem." Mellissa says.

"Now lets get going or else they will think you are leaving poor Sean at the altar." My mother says and we walk to the door and walk out of the bedroom.

"Amy you look beautiful." Rachel says coming up to me and hugs me.

"Thank you." I say. We walk outside. One of the limo driver's is standing with a camera.

"I thought it would be great if we got a picture of all of us as single young successful women." Melissa says and gathers my friends around me.

The limo driver comes up to us. "Here let me fix this." He says helping me with the trine. "Now say single."

"Single!" We say in unison. He snaps the picture.

"Now one of you and your family." He says. My mother, grandmother, and cousins gather around he takes the picture.

"Well let's go." I say.

"Let me help you in to the car." He says grabbing the trine and walking with me to the car. He help my friends and I in to one limo. He helps the other driver help my mother, grandmother and cousins in to the other. He gets in and drives.

Melissa grabs a bottle of wine and opens it. "Here is to the last few minutes of your freedom Amy." She says pouring the wine in to glasses. We toast to the passing of single life.

"Here is to a great group of friends and a great family. You have all been the greatest of friends and I hope you all can be as happy as I am right now very soon." I say. In an hour we are at the resort. The driver helps all of us out of the car.

"Good luck and congratulations." He says.

"Thank you." I say and rush in to the resorts lobby. Cathy, Raul, Uncle Eddie and Aunt Sherry are standing around waiting. "Present."

"Oh my Amy you look beautiful." Cathy says coming up to me and kissing my cheek.

"Well we had better get this part over with now." I say. Mark goes in to the garden to tell everyone that the ceremony is about to begin. The organ music starts to play. Mark escorts my mother first. Then Melissa and so on. Then the piano player starts to play 'Here Comes the Bride'. My uncle takes my left arm and holds it and Raul takes my right.

"Well, that's our cue." Raul says squeezing my arm. We start in to the garden. Through my vial I can see the crowd of people and Sean's back turned towards me. We get half way down the aisle and he turns and smiles. We get with in three feet of the altar and stop. Uncle Eddie lets go and kisses my cheek. Raul gives my right had to Sean and he kisses my cheek. Sean and I walk the rest of the way together.

The priest conducts the ceremony. "Amy and Sean have written their own vows."

Sean takes the ring from the pillow the ring bearer is holding. "Amy the first time I saw you I was awe struck. I had never found a woman who was down to earth and was not after a guy for his looks or money. When we met face to face I fell more in love than I was before. I with this ring all others I refuse and thee I choose." He slips the ring on my finger.

I take the ring from the pillow. "Sean I have never been able to love any one like I love you. The first time I met you I fell truly, deeply and madly in love with you. I thought you would not like me because I was not pretty. I love you and with this ring all others I refuse and thee I choose." I say and slip the ring on to his finger.

"I know pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." The priest says.

Sean lifts up the veil. "I love you." He says bending down.

"And I love you back." I say just before he kisses me. The crowd of people cheer. Sean backs up a small bit. We walk back up the aisle, I spot Chris's family, my extended family Edith, Eddie, Anthony and Max, as we walk to the banquet room. We get there and see the room is decorated in pale pinks, blues, greens and violets. After dinner the toasts begin. After the fifth toast Sean gets up.

"I would like to thank destiny for bringing Amy and me together. I love her and I will continue loving her until the day I die." He says and bends down to kiss me. The band head singer came on to the microphone.

"Would the bride and groom please take the first dance?" The bands head singer was the guy whose mother lives next-door to my mother. Sean and I take to the dance floor. The song was Truly, Madly, Deeply. Sean twirls me around the dance floor.

"This is the best day in my whole entire life." I say.

"Same here." Sean says. Then everyone else joins us on the dance floor. Melissa, Rachel, Jenny, Stephanie, Jackie are each with one of Sean's friends, Chris with Bobby, Kim with Ray, and Maggie with Sal all dance every dance together. Two hours latter Sean and I leave the party. We drive to the airport and board a plane to Jamaica.

Sean and I are in our hotel room. I am in the bathroom getting ready for bed. I did what Melissa said to do and took the box in with me. I open the door and turn off the light. I walk out of the bathroom. "How do you like Melissa's gift for our wedding night?"

"I think she had the right idea when she picked it out." He says grabbing one end of the bow I tied and pulled it apart and let the ribbon fall then he grabs me around the waist and pulls me towards him. "I love you."

"And I love you more." I say and kiss him. That night we gave ourselves to each other fully and pronounced that our love was Truly, Madly, Deeply with in us.
