Chapter 15
“If you had an Oven I could make you breakfast, but, you don’t have one.” D gave Charle a curious look.
“Why would I need one of those?” He asked and got out of bed. “I need a Shower.” He paused and looked at her. “Did you want to get one first?”
“Why don’t we have one together?” She asked, her thought was completely innocent but D looked at her as though she had just suggested another round of sex.
“But I’m still kinda tired.” He whined again and Charle sighed.
“I didn’t mean it in a sexual way.” She said and he gave her a confused look, to stall any further confusion Charle nodded. “Fine, I’ll grab a Shower first.” She left the room and got into the shower. She turned the Shower on and waited until the water heated up, then turned the cold until it was a more comfortable temperature. She stepped into the shower and sighed as the warm water hit her body. She let the water hit her face and she smiled to herself, She chuckled to herself as she shampooed her hair. She was going to get it from Benji when she got home but that was okay, it was completely worth it. She finished up in the bathroom and wrapped her hair in a towel before wrapping another around herself. She dried herself off and got changed into one of D’s shirts and a pair of his pants. They were horribly baggy on her but she just grabbed one of his belts and put it on. She walked out of the bathroom and peaked into the bedroom.
“It’s all yours.” D nodded and got up while Charle went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She took a sip and sat down on the couch as she heard the shower being turned on. She sat on the couch for a few minutes, rapidly becoming bored. She sighed and thought about how little practice she had been getting lately when it came to the dance routine she was supposed to be learning with her Japanese Historical group. They were going to perform a traditional dance for the festival coming up showcasing different dance types. She looked around the apartment, soon finding paper. She folded them up into a fan shape and stood in the center of the room, getting ‘into the zone’ as her friends called it. She breathed deep and evenly until the dance came naturally to her. The paper fans were a little harder to use without the weight of wood but she managed.
D was toweling his hair when he came out of the Bathroom, a towel wrapped around his slender waist. He walked into the living room to see Charle dancing elegantly. Her face was calm with concentration and he stood watching her for sometime before noticing what was going on behind her, when she turned. A small bubble of water had risen out of the glass and was floating above it, moving in time with her dance. Charle seemed completely oblivious to what was going on.
But D knew exactly what was going on as he watched her. She was a Hydrokinetic, and didn’t even know it! He got slightly panicky, there was no way in hell that he could teach her, water was his natural opposite. Then another worry arose, how the hell he would explain to her just what was going on. Well he did meet her in the bookstore, and in the section of elemental-Kinesis, she had to know something of what it was. He heard a splash and looked up at Charle.
“D!” She was blushing hard, obviously she didn’t realize he had been watching. “H-How long have you been standing there?” She asked almost sheepishly, and he grinned back.
“Long enough. The Dance you were doing was beautiful.” He stated and her blush deepened. “Look, Charle.” He came closer to her, unsure of how to explain to her what was going on. “Your very special.” She looked up at him startled. “You can do things that few others can.” Charle looked at him thoroughly confused.
“D, I’m not sure I know what you are saying.” She shook her head slightly and looked up at him. “Please, explain what you mean.”
“It’s hard to explain Charle, the best way to, is to show you.” He held his hand out, in a fist. He then turned it so that the back of his hand was facing the ground, as he slowly opened his fingers, he stared at his palm in concentration.
“D, What are you-“ Charle stopped mid-sentence as a flame popped up on his hand. “D.. What’s going on…?” Charle asked nervously and looked up at him, fearfully. D smiled at her as the flame spread so that it covered his hand, and slowly made it’s way up his arm.
“You can do this Charle, but, only with water.” D replied extinguishing the fire that had spread, then smiled softly at her. “I know, it’s hard to believe, but when you were dancing, you were controlling a small amount of water. “ Charle shook her head and D laid a hand on her arm. She flinched and he pulled back sadly. “Charle, I didn’t mean to scare you. Look, I want you to meet someone. Her name is Nina.” Charle looked much like a frightened kitten that you see on the street. Scared half to hell that you’re going to hurt it, but still wanting to go up and cuddle you. She took a few steps forward but then pulled back.
“D, I cant. I just can’t.” She replied softly and shook her head. “I- I need to go home, now, I need to think D.” D nodded. He had grown up in a family where this type of thing was normal, He couldn’t begin to understand how she felt, finding this out for the first time.
“I’ll take you home.” He said softly, then went into his room to change.
