King Kristian Renwal
A day, a week , time was passing and Veleska was not awake.\". The sisters were growing worried about their friend. Everyone was worried about the sleeping priestess. Serenity was more so worried than the others. She could feel pain from Veleska. Even if she could not see her senses had become very acute. Her mind was becoming a very powerful tool. It was becoming such that she did not even need a person to lead her about.
Other beings could feel her growing as well. The Varian king, Kristian Renwal, had learned enough from his shadowed slave to be aware of the girls presence. It was only a speculation though. The truth was far from being known for certain. It still warranted a constant vigil.
“Shadow!” He Bellowed. “Show your self and report what you have seen today!”
The king did not let the little incident with Veleska keep him from sending his eyes. He was just more cautious about it and told the Shadows to keep their distance. The order was to watch alone and nothing else. The past shadow paid for his mistakes by being sent into a world that was darker than Serenity’s. He was not happy because the shadow alerted the people to his curiosities about just what was going on with the goody, good prince.
“The Priestess sleeps. The girl believed to be your blood has grown stronger. She no longer needs the hands of others to guide her.” The shadows shapeless form appeared. “The Corinthian prince went to his castle and retrieved a ring. I believe he will ask the girl Serenity to wear it as a promise of marriage.”
“That can not be allowed to happen. If she is my blood than she will come here and marry whom I say. As my blood she is bound by blood to honor her father and his wishes.”
“IF she is your daughter sire. The priestess and sisters have only guessed at this.” The shadow lowered its self down. The floating jade eyes were fixed on the king. ”I have managed to catch glimpse of the girls mother as well highness. She was walking along side her daughter. The prince was not with them.”
“Show me.”
He would know his wife. He never technically divorced her and he only left her and his daughter because he was being pressured to finish a task he was assigned.
“Yes your highness.”
The shadows blackness formed into a round pool. The images of what he saw started to show through the darkness. The king watched the images come clearer until it looked as if he could reach and pluck the women from it.
“Mother I’m worried.”
“I know honey.” Sarai’s smiled. “She will be okay. Have faith remember?”
“I know but its hard.” Serenity shook her head. “I want to show you something.” She pulled her left hand from a robe pocket. She had been hiding it from her mothers dight for now. “Silvan gave me this today.”
The sparkle of a White gold and diamond ring caught her mothers eye. Its center stone was purple and the surrounding diamonds around it were the traditional white. It was a stunning piece of jewelry and it was on Serenity’s ring finger of her left hand.
“Is That..what I think it is?” Sarai pulled her daughters hand closer to examine the ring. “Is this...”
“Yes it is.” Serenity blushed. “He proposed a week ago to me.”
The images faded. Kristian’s face seethed with anger. He clenched his fists together so tightly that his already pale knuckles turned to a ghostly white. That was his wife and she was letting HIS daughter marry! What angered him more was the fact that his council of advisors told him they were both dead!
The shadow backed away from the angered man in fear. Maybe he should have thought his report through just a little more?
“Sire are you okay?”
The blonde haired king growled low under his breath. HOW dare she! No! No and NO again! This would not happen. His natural Varian possessiveness was taking hold of him. It was one thing to fear a Varian man but it was something altogether different when they became so enraged that their jade eyes glowed. King Kristian Renwal’s eyes did this very thing.
“This will NOT come to pass.” he did not speak excitedly or angrily. His tone in fact came across as very calm, cool and dark. “She is MY blood. She and her mother will be brought back here. They belong to me and I will not let the Corinthian people have them.” He looked to the shadow. “Gather your ranks. I want ten of the bravest and most skilled of your warriors here at the palace by sunrise tomorrow.”
“Yes highness.” The shadow started to rise towards the ceiling.”It will be done my lord.”
“Do not fail me as your last brother did.”
“We will not fail you.”
The shadow faded away into the nothingness above. Kristian released a deeply inhaled breath and nodded.
“Very soon my wife. You will be at my side again and my daughter will be the heir that brings the Varian people to greatness and not the Corinthian. My enemies shall not possess my blood. I refuse to let the lands rejoin one another. My Wrath will prevail!”
With a flutter of his cape he turned. He had things to plan and a war to start. His heavily booted feet stepped over the blackened floor of his palace. His anger was not something one wished to see when he finally released his vengeance.
“But first. I have a little council meeting to attend.” He chuckled cooly and glanced up towards a long hall way. “Yes I think its high time they learn just who is king and who is the servant.” His steps lead him to his bedroom door.
“Soon.” He pushed the door open to look at the empty bed in the center of the room.”Very soon wife. You and Serenity will come to your true home.” He still loved her in his own way. The council would soon hear just what he had to say on this matter. Their deception and lied would not go unpunished.
Such thoughts could not help but to be felt by Serenity. She shot up from her chair where she had been resting and gasped for air. The sheer possessive nature of her father made it feel as if she was choking for air.
“S..Silvan! M..mother!”
Sarai rustled from her nap at the sudden call of her daughter. She was sleeping in the other chair and they were both in Veleska’s room. The two always kept watch over her. They both wanted her to wake.
“Serenity!” Sarai rushed to her side. “What’s wrong? Is it your eyes?”
“No.”She grabbed onto her mother and hugged tightly.”Where is Silvan?”
\"I’m right here.” As if on cue the door flew open and he was moving to Serenity’s opposite side.”I am sorry I was away. The sisters wished to speak with me.” He let his hand brush along her back so she could feel him near. Her trembling worried him.
“I..saw..a man in my dreams.” Serenity could barely manage to speak. “It was horrible. He felt so dark and cold.”
“What happened baby girl?” Sarai tried to sooth her daughter by brushing her hair. “You can tell us.”
“I don’t know exactly. I was sleeping and than all of the sudden I was seeing a man. He was so angry. I could feel really bad thoughts coming from him. They were hateful and very incoherent.”
“I’m not sure but this could be just a nightmare.” Sarai smiled. “You used to dream of a face when you were little too. Just after your father left. I think it came from some scary movie that I should not have let you watch.”
“Probably. I guess.” Serenity pulled away. “I think I want to go for a walk.”
“I’ll go with you love.” The handsome prince extended his arm. “If you want me to.”
“Of course I do.”Serenity chuckled. “Will you be okay mom?”
“I’ll be fine. I want to stay here just incase Veleska wakes up. Ill come get you if she does.”
“Alright.” She let Silvan take her arm in his and escort her away. Serenity didn’t let many people lead her now but Silvan was always an exception.”Be back soon.”
The two exited the room. Sarai sighed as the door closed behind them.
“Leave her alone Kristian. I don’t care if you are around and ARE this king. She’s happy damn it. I won’t let you spoil this for her.”
Yes she lied to Serenity about the face. Yes she KNEW who it was now and yes she was determined to keep him from messing with Serenity’s happiness with his foolish possessive behavior. She just wasn’t sure how to go about keeping him from doing it yet.
