\"I wonder if Matt had a good time at the prom,\" Jason mused out loud as he ran his fingers through Kevin\'s long dark blonde hair.

He loved that Kevin was letting it grow long. It made the smaller boy look even more exotic, in Jason\'s opinion. The two were lying naked in Jason\'s bed, as always, just cuddling. It was Saturday night and Brian and Matt were due in the next day in the early afternoon. Jason knew Kevin was excited to be seeing his brother again, and was dying to introduce him to Trent. He\'d warned Kevin not to start anything that would interfere with Matt and Brian, though. On the one hand, Matt wouldn\'t stand for it. Jason knew that Matt\'s feelings for Brian had only intensified in the months since Kevin had left. For another, he knew that Brian wouldn\'t trust a stranger for anything, and though Trent was a good friend of Kevin\'s, he was still a stranger to Brian.

\"Who cares?\" Kevin groused sleepily.

\"Kevin, Matt\'s been very good to Brian. You know that. Brian told you himself.\"

\"That doesn\'t erase it all.\"

\"Maybe not,\" Jason chided. \"But Brian\'s feelings are all that matters. You know how vulnerable he is since he left home. Matt\'s the only one he can feel comfortable around.\"

\"He seems to be okay with Ryan now.\"

\"That doesn\'t mean he\'ll accept Trent as a replacement for Matt. Ryan was Matt\'s friend and he helped Brian when Williams went after him. That scored him points in the trust department.\"

\"I just wish I could have talked to him today,\" Kevin sighed.

\"I know. I called Matt, but he only said that Brian was getting ready to see you and he would talk to you when he gets here.\"

\"See? There he goes trying to control my relationship with my brother.\"

\"That\'s not what I sensed from the conversation,\" Jason frowned. \"He said that Sherry was helping Brian buy some clothes and they weren\'t back yet.\"

\"Well, he might have been lying.\"

\"Okay, now you\'re grasping at straws,\" Jason laughed as he nuzzled Kevin\'s ear.

Kevin sucked in his breath and turned toward his boyfriend. They\'d been dating for a few months now and he knew Jason wanted to make love to him. He wanted it too, but every time it seemed they would get that far, Kevin got scared and pulled back. \"You can\'t be ready if something stops you,\" the dark haired boy grinned at him.

\"I am,\" Kevin insisted. \"I know what I want. I\'m just scared.\"

\"Of me?\" Jason looked alarmed.

\"No, not of you.\"

\"Of what then?\"

\"I don\'t know,\" Kevin looked down.

But he was lying. He knew what he was scared of. He was afraid Brian would be upset that he was going out with someone. He knew his brother wouldn\'t care that he was gay. But all of their lives it had been Brian and Kevin against the world. They were each other\'s best friends and confidants. Kevin not only turned his back on that by keeping his relationship with Jason a secret, he had found a new confidant. Trent. Brian would likely be crushed.

\"I think you do know,\" Jason prodded gently.

Kevin looked back up and held back the tear that threatened to drop.

\"Brian risked so much to protect me these last few years, and I betrayed him.\"

\"What?\" that alarmed look came back to Jason\'s gaze. \"How did you betray him, sweets?\"

\"I didn\'t tell him about us from the start,\" Kevin explained. \"And I\'ve been confiding in Trent lately.\"

\"Trent?\" Jason\'s eyebrow raised precariously. What did he have to do with this?

\"Stop the jealous look,\" Kevin admonished. \"You know that I would never cheat on you!\"

Jason didn\'t look completely convinced so Kevin gave him a long deep kiss and wrapped his fingers in Jason\'s dark mane.

\"Never cheat on you,\" Kevin whispered against his lips. \"Never.\"

\"Okay,\" Jason whispered back. \"Brian\'s not going to feel betrayed by either of those things, anyway. He loves you and wants you to be happy, and he\'ll be okay with us because he\'ll see that I make you happy.\" He pulled back for a second. \"I do make you happy, don\'t I?\"

\"I couldn\'t be happy without you,\" Kevin replied with a sexy grin that made Jason want to pull him beneath him and have his way with him.

\"See?\"

\"On that one, maybe,\" Kevin shrugged.

\"He\'s not going to be angry about Trent either,\" Jason sighed. \"He knows you need friends and he\'s probably thrilled you\'re not getting into fights anymore.\"

\"You think so?\"

\"I\'d stake a bet on it. He probably threw a fit every time you came home bruised.\"

\"He did,\" Kevin nodded.

\"He won\'t mind.\"

Kevin thought over what Jason said for a few minutes. It made sense and it felt like a weight had lifted from his shoulders. Jason was right, Brian would be happy for him. He looked back to Jason\'s dark eyes and something inside him just snapped.
