Demon Love Story
Chapter 15
Love TKO
Three hours after sunset he got his first customer. He was a young man in a simple shirt and breeches and a leather vest. He looked around the room shyly and spotting Christian he went slightly red in the face.
“Um…the girl at the counter said –.”
Christian held up his hand. “It’s your first time coming here?”
The youth nodded. Christian went up to him and motioned for him to take a seat on some cushions on the floor.
“Do you want some tea or some fruit?”
“Uh…Tea?”
Christian left the room quietly then came back with a tray. It had small cakes and steaming cups of tea. He set the tray on the floor and sat down. “It’ll make you relax! And then we can both feel better.”
“Thanks…” He said softly, taking some tea.
“How much did you pay?”
The young man blushed. “Um… two-hundred?”
“I’ll get you a refund.” Christian drank some tea. “You’re an artist, right?”
“Huh?” He nearly dropped his tea, flustered.
“Your fingers. I can still see the paint on them a little.”
“Oh…” he chuckled and put down his tea. “I was painting…um…”
“Um? What’s your name? Why are you so shy with me?”
“My name is Delios and…I’ve seen you so many times in the market…and you’re so beautiful.” He looked at Christian. “But, I heard about your affair with the king’s brother and I knew you’d probably never have me over him so…I’ve been painting you instead.”
//Argos was Evan’s brother!?// Tears formed in Christian’s eyes.
“Are you alright?”
“No…not really, but I –.”
Delios rubbed Christian’s thigh. “I know I’m no noble…but…I admire you as well.”
Christian sighed. “Yes, well, I suppose the life of an expensive whore is to be admired.”
Delios stood. “Should I come back? I can.”
“Do that and tell Deidre I said to give your money back. She’s the red head.”
Delios left and laughter filled the room. “Aw…do you miss your rich man?”
Lazerus appeared in the room in his demon form and Christian ignored him, only getting up to take the tea into a side room. He came back out, grabbed Argos’s green cloak and sat on the window sill. He gazed out into the night sky snuggling the article of clothing.
Lazerus appeared before him, blocking his view. He cupped Christian’s cream colored face in a clawed hand. “I can buy you nice things. I have an onyx and marble palace waiting for your radiance. I can buy you fancy clothes. I am immortal!”
Tears ran down Christian’s face. “I heard you. And you killed him. You’re an abomination and I will never love you.”
“I’ve watched you for years. I watched as your mother sold you. I watched as you matured. I knew you’d be beautiful…” He dug his claws into Christian’s fair skin. “I gave you the boy and now you discard him?”
Blood welled and ran down Christian’s jaw.
“Ungrateful!” the demon growled, digging his claws deeper. “Un-grateful!”
Tears mingled with Christian’s blood and he moved the demon’s hand away. He cried into the cloak and merely whined as Lazerus ripped it away and tossed it into the wind.
“You are mine!” the demon yelled at him.
Christian cried into his hands and ignored Lazerus. The demon paced the air.
“First I will unmake the boy. He’s a construct. That’ll teach you a lesson. Then I’ll…make sure that beloved prince of yours never has a son! I’ll fill his dreams with nightmares and drive him to insanity.!”
Christian wiped at his tears and tried to rub off the drying blood. Lazerus watched him. He flew close to him and clawed his face. The blond screamed in pain and fell inside holding his face.
Lazerus beat Christian mercilessly, breaking many of his bones. He left the blond broken and bleeding in the corner of the room.
“That is what happens to the ungrateful…” He noticed Christian wasn’t moving and crept closer. “Christian?”
The blond was barely breathing and wasn’t registering anything. The demon stalked over to him and bent over his prone form.
“Christian?” He placed an ebony clawed hand over him and a dark aura surrounded him. He stepped away and allowed Christian to get up.
The blond pushed himself up off the ground but didn’t turn around.
“I hope you’ve learned who is in charge. I will spare the construct. I will not have you lonely.”
Christian gave no response but he did stand up.
“Fine. I will kill the construct and now I will murder your prince’s wife!”
Christian went over to the demon and slapped him viciously. “I hate you! I hate you! I HATE YOU!”
He slapped the demon repeatedly and progressed into punching and kicking the demon. He tired himself out and collapsed at the creatures, crying.
Lazerus crossed his arms and smacked his tail on the floor. “Are you done? Whore?”
“I hate you…” Christian stood up again and wiped his face. He sniffled and tucked his hair behind his ear. “Go get it.”
“What? No one commands me –.”
Christian slapped the demon. “DO IT!” he yelled in his face.
“I –.”
“Go get it! Now! Now! NOW!”
Lazerus flew out of the window and soon came back with the green cloak. Christian snatched it away. The demon wrapped his tail about Christian’s waist and picked him up. He pulled Christian back to him.
“I will –.”
“Let me go.” Christian growled, staring right into the demon’s ice blue eyes. Lazerus ran his tail up Christian’s torso and the blond shoved it away.
“I don’t want you here. I’m working. You’re brutish and disgusting.”
Lazerus set him down then flexed his wings. “I’ll come again.”
He disappeared and Christian fought to regain control of himself. He wrapped himself in Argos’s cloak and waited for customers, the image of ice blue eyes burned into his mind.
