Forgiven

Forgiven

“I fucking swear if your fucking dead,” Mathew muttered as he flipped J.J onto her back, she snapped her eyes open and lurched to the side expelling stomach acid onto Mathew's Shoes.

She groaned and could faintly hear Mathew cursing and gritting his teeth.

“Glad to see your alive,” he muttered sarcastically, he stepped over her and took a rag from the lower cabinet and moisten it. He sat on the ground next to her and proceeded to wipe his shoes.

J.J groaned and rolled over onto her stomach and slowly pushed herself off, she slid onto her knees and let her head rest on the wooden cabinets.

“Glad to see you still care,” she mumbled wiping the remnants of vomit from her mouth with the back of her hand.

“You were late for the meeting, I guess the doctor should of anticipated the dosage she gave you was a bit too much.”

“Yeah well the worst that could happen is I choke on my vomit.” Mathew feigned a smile and threw the rag over his head aiming for the sink.

“Does she know I was passed out.”

“Yeah I called her and let her know before I flipped ya over.

They sat next to each other side by side. Silence consume the air, neither felt the need to speak and neither wanted to speak.

“I doubt you'll believe me but I'm sorry,” J.J didn't expect an answer back, but to her surprise Mathew took a deep breath and patted her leg.

“You have to understand, I'm exhausted of all of this.”

“I know, believe me or not but I get it. I see it, and I just wish you would understand that this, all of this.” J.J tapped her forehead.

“Everything inside is just...” she clenched her arms trying to find the words. It was frustrating and in the end she let her head slump down.

Mathew took a deep breath and stood up, she didn't even bother to look at him, she knew what she would see would be nothing but disappointment.

“Come on,” he extended his hand downward and she looked up to see him smiling.

She took his hand and let herself be led to bed.

“No more pills,” she mumbled when she saw Mathew uncapping her medicine bottle.

“Relax, just one and I'll get ya something to eat, I'm sure that's why you felt like crap. Not a nice feeling.”

She nodded agreeing, she felt miserable but compare to the misery she had made him feel, it was a bit of payback she deserved.

They interacted silently, few words passed between the both of them. She was more focused on the time. She had plenty of time to go out, specifically to go out to the park. She just needed to be left alone.

If she could just go and sit on that damn bench and wait, just sit and wait for her. She knew she would find her there. She knew, she felt it.

After her snack he led her to bed and she curled up and closed her eyes.

“Are you going to bed okay?” Mathew sat on the bed and patted her back, “Is your stomach feeling better.”

“Yeah...and yeah.”

“Great, get some rest. We'll get the Doc to come over instead so she can check ya out.

“Great,” she mumbled, she really just wanted to go out but the drastic change of attitude was red flags, she remember from previous times.

“I wanna go to the park,”

“You will be able to maybe sometime next.”

She took a deep breath and let sleep win, for now.
