Chapter Fourteen:

The crystal pendent that belong to the member of our people where did those boy get it? A man thought as he watch the boy fought to protect their life, he slid of his horse and shout out an order for his men to stop.

“Devin be careful!” Caelane cried and Devin nodded.

Devin gripped his sword with both hand and waited for their enemies to charge up at him.

“Why didn't you kill them boy?” a man voice said from the back of the men that surrounded them, the men move to the side to reveal a tall man with short white hair eyes as black as the crow.

“Because I don't want to kill anyone,all I want is for the two of us to escape from here a live,” answer Devin.

How amusing, the man thought, “you are very naive boy, in this world if you don't kill those that wish you harm you will be kill instead. I tell you what boy, I won't kill you, if you tell me who gave you those crystal pendent?”

Crystal pendent? could the man be talking about the one he and Caelane wore around their neck, “are you asking about the crystal pendent we have on us right now?” He asked just to make sure that he was right.

The man nodded his head and waited patiently for Devin to answer him.

“If you must know, the person who gave it to us is Eli, he said that it will protect us once we enter this country.”

"Eli, I haven't heard that name in ten years.” comment the man.

“You know Eli?" Devin asked.

“I do boys, now that I know that you are a friends of, Eli, I will have to bring you to our lord."

“You aren't going to kill us?” Caelane and Devin asked.

“You are a friend of Eli so I can't kill you two even if I wanted to, after all Eli is someone very important to us. To anger him would mean that none of us will live to see the next sunset. Now come along boy I don't have all day. You men, pick your self back up, we are leaving.” the man shouted to his fallen men. Before mounting his horse and wave the boy to join him.

Devin and Caelane can't help but wonder what kind of influence does Eli have in the country of Sythia. There is one thing they know for sure and that is that they really have to thank Eli once they return to Zhanthia.

As it turned out the lord is the king of Sythia friend. Devin and Caelane stood before the lord as the lord question the man that brought them to him.

“You are telling me that these two guys know our Eli? Jay!” ask the lord.

“Yes my lord, on our way here I question them some more and it seems that Eli drew them a map which led them into our territory.”

“I see, that will explain how they came to be in our territory,” said the lord.

The lord turned his attention from Jay to Devin and Caelane, “you two are from the country of Zhanthia I presumed?” ask the lord.

Devin step forward and answer the question, “yes we are both from Zhanthia, we came here to find the spring that will cure us of our cursed.

That got the lords attention, "you two are cursed?” ask the lord.

“Yes we are, we fell into the curse spring of growth.” answer Devin.

“I see now why you are able to break through our barrier and enter the country of Sythia. You two are cursed and you need to find a cure for your curse that is why you are here in Sythia the country that is famous for ridding people of their curse.

Devin and Caelane nodded their head.

“Very well you could stay here in my home until you find a cure for your curse, but you must remember that no matter what you will not wander outside at night. If you do I cannot guarantee your safety. This country is way more dangerous then you think.”

Devin and Caelane nodded their head in understanding to the lord warning.

“Jay show them to the guest room.”

“Yes my lord,” Jay bow and wave the boy to follow him.

The lord leaned his back against his chair and shut his eyes, Zhanthia he haven't been there since that day, he wonder how his boys is doing, if he didn't have to take over for his father he would still be in Zhanthia and right at this moment his boys will be by his side.

"It had been awhile since we have a guest here in our home," Jay commented as he led the boy to their chamber.

Devin nodded his head, he turned to ask Caelane why he was so quiet to only discover that Caelane was starring at a man with a mean look on his face, “Jay who is that man starring at us?" ask Devin.

“Oh him, don't mind him, he's always in a foul mood,” answer Jay.

Caelane tighten his gripped on Devin hand, as they walked his eyes still locked with the mean looking man until they disappear around the corner. Caelane cannot help but wonder why the man was starring and it seems like his gaze was directed at him. and that scared him more then anything.

“Ray, you shouldn't stare at people like that, are you will scare them,” the lord commented as he came up toward the mean looking man.

“Who are they?” ask the man name Ray.

“Oh those two boys they came from Zhanthia, they are curse so I suggest you don't get to close to them.”

“I don't know what you mean by that my lord.”

“Oh I think you do Ray, I want you to stay away from that boy , its for your own good, especially for your heart.”

“There is no need for you to worry about that I am not about to make a fool of my self a second time, and beside that love is for fools only fools fall in love.” Ray make that remarked before he turned and walked away.

That night before going to bed Caelane opened the window and pray to the moon to help him and Devin find a cure for their cursed. He was about to close the window when he spotted the mean man from today, he didn't know how long he stood their by the window watching the man gazing up at the moon with a sad look on his face.

“Caelane its cold do you mind closing the windows,” Devin asked as he get ready for bed. Caelane nodded his head and quickly shut the window.

“Why are you spacing out like that Caelane? Are you missing Jamie? Are perhaps you miss your father and brother?” Ask Devin.

“I miss all three of them, that is why I pray to the moon to help us find the cure so that we could return to them sooner.”

“Don't worry we will,”Devin said before he fell asleep.

Caelane fell asleep soon also. Instead of dreaming about the people he wanted to be reunited with he dream about the mean man.

Jamie bend down beside the first consort grave and brushed the old flower away. He replace it with a fresh one that he and his twin stepsons gather from the castle garden together. He arranged it all nice and pretty on the grave.

“Eli is it true that the king first consort is a very beautiful person.” Jamie asked.

“Yes he is, he is very much like you but the only difference is that he.....”

“He what?” Jamie asked when Eli didn't finished saying what he wanted to say.

“Never mind, its nothing,” Eli lied. Deciding that it might be best if Jamie didn't know the whole truth.

Jamie nodded his head in understanding, he turned to face the king first consort grave, “Eli what is the king first consort name?” he asked with out turning his head away from the grave.

“Hayden,” reply Eli.

“Hi Hayden my name is, Jamie, I am now marry to your husband the king and the step-dad to your two beautiful boys, you must think that I am weird but I feel like I should come here and introduce myself to you after all you were the king beloved consort when you were alive, not only that you gave birth to two beautiful boys which I am proud to call my own. I promise you that I will love the boys with all my heart, and that I will do my best to make the king a good and kind king as his consort as I am sure that is your wish as well."

Eli place a hand on Jamie shoulder, “Jamie the boys are here.” he whispered.

Jamie turned just as his stepsons ran up to him, he smiled and told them to pay there respect to there dad. The two boys bend down on their knees and pray to there dad.

“Daddy don't worry about us, we have a new dad now and he is very nice to us.” said the two boys.

Jamie pulled the two into his arms and hugged them tight, “you two are so adorable, I love you.”

Eli let out a soft chuckles, “Jamie you really love them and treat them like they are your own flesh and blood don't you?”

“That's because I want them to have a happy childhood,” reply Jamie. Then he glance up at Eli.

“Eli don't you treat them like they are your own kids?” ask Jamie.

“I do love them, but you love them more then I could ever love them and the boys know it too. That is why they stick to you like glue,Jamie.”

Jamie smiled at that comment. Just as Jeffery came walking up toward them.

“Jamie I came to say good-by.” Jeffery said as soon as he reached Jamie.

“You're leaving already, your highness,” Jamie asked with a frown.

“Don't frown Jamie I will be back after all you are like a son to me,” said Jeffery.

“You are also like a father to me, your highness,” Jamie said with a smiled. He turned to his stepsons and told them to say good-by to their dad because they are going to see the king of Asilin off with him. The two boys and Jamie said their good-by to the first consort grave then they head back to the castle where Nicholas a wait them.

Nicholas wasn't happy that he was put in charge of Janus, he don't know why but he hate the boy. And he sure as hell that the boy hates him as well. They couldn't even stand looking at each other with out going at each other throats. Damn Jeffery hurry up back or I might kill your crazy son before my mission is completed.

“Don't think that I will allow you to be alone with my father,” Janus said suddenly breaking the silent between them.

Nicholas turned to face the boy, “if I want to jump your father not even you could stop me,” Nicholas retorted in a calmly manner. He wear a smug look on his face with his arm cross in front of him. daring the boy to say more.

Janus glared at Nicholas and Nicholas glared back, the two of time fight each other with their eyes, one daring the other to back away.

“Enough you two,” Jeffery shouted as he walked toward them with Jamie by his side.

Nicholas turned away from Janus and smiled at Jamie, “how nice off you to see us of, Jamie.”

“Sorry Nicholas I am only here to see the king of Aislin of after all he is like a father to me.”

Nicholas pretended to be hurt by Jamie remarked, “I guess I am nothing more then the man who work for your husband the king.”

Jamie let out a small laughed, “Nicholas you know that I don't mean that, you are a friend to me I could never think less of you, after all if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be here.”

Nicholas laughed, "true," he said. He turned to Jeffery, “its about time, we should leave now before the sunset,”

Jeffery nodded his head , “Jamie I want to see your baby when I return here again for a visits.”

Jamie blushed, and Jeffery and Nicholas let out a laugh. Jeffery gave Jamie one last hugged, he turned to his son Janus and order him to get into the carriage.

Janus flashed Jamie a hostile glare before disappearing inside the carriage, Jeffery shook his head at his son behavior he will have to come up with away to draw the boy mistaken love and affection for him else where or else Jamie will suffer and he can't have that. Jeffery let out a sigh, he watched Jamie disappeared back into the castle.

Nicholas place a hand on Jeffery shoulder, “ how did you get Janus to agree to return to Asilin with you?” Nicholas can't help but asked since he was dying to know.

“I told him that someone I love is accompanying me back, and he insisted right away that he will return home with me.”

Nicholas eyes widened, “that is why he keep glaring dagger eyes at me all day. Damn you Jeffery don't provoke a crazy jealous person like that, who knows what that boy would do if that person was none other then me.”

“I know, sorry, but that is the only way to get him to returned home with me, with out giving your king any trouble.”

“Well then I guess we should get a move on, and Jeffery after all this is over I will go back to hating you.” Nicholas stated right before he spread his wings and flew up into the sky.

Jeffery smiled, “I wouldn't want it any other way.” he whispered.

"Demetrius is it true that you get your eyes taken from you for looking at someone husband with dirty thoughts,” Jamie asked with his head still buried in the book in front of him.

“Yes,” Demetrius replied with his eyes locked on to Alan sitting in the room with them as well.

Alan pretended that he didn't see the look Demetrius was giving him, he turned his head to the side and gaze out the window.

Jamie looked up from his book to see Demetrius starring at Alan, he let out a small but low giggles, Demetrius quickly turned his attention back to Jamie.

“Why are you giggling Jamie?” Demetrius asked with a frown.

“Nothing, no reason, just have the urged to do so that's all Demetrius,” Jamie answered with a big grinned.

A knock on the door draw both their attention from each other, they turned to face the door to see who it was, they were surprised to see the king.

"I came to get Jamie," said Sebastian.

Jamie stood up and gather the lesson book in front of him, he turned to Alan, “I hope to see you here tomorrow as well Alan.”

Alan turned away from the windows and smiled at Jamie, "I look forward to seeing you again also Jamie.”

Jamie returned Alan smile with his own, he then hurried to the king sides and they both left the room leaving Demetrius alone with Alan.

As soon as Jamie and the king left Alan turned to Demetrius, "alright tell me, you jerk what is with that looks you give me? If you hate my presence so much why don't you just leave me lock up in the cell instead of having me here.” snap Alan.

Demetrius crossed his arms in front of him, “I can't stand having you in the same room as me , but I also cannot leave you alone, if I do who knows what kind of trouble you will cause when I am not a round to keep my eyes on you boy.”

“You... you are really getting on my nerve you jerk,” Alan stated as he walked up to Demetrius.

Demetrius glared at the man standing before him, “would you mind backing off for a bit I can't stand to have you near me.” Demetrius said in a cold voice.

“Hump! As you wish master,” Alan said with a mischievous smirked, and before Demetrius could reacted Alan stomp his foot hard on Demetrius feet then elbow the man in the stomach knocking the wind right out of Demetrius. A satisfied smirk came on Alan face, "serve you right you hypocrite," he then dash out of the room leaving Demetrius alone to howl out a cursed at him.
