And Chaos Makes Four?
Silvan entered the balcony with Serenity by his side. She did not leave him for even a moment. It took him over two days to recover fully at this point. He was completely healed now however. Between Serenity’s watchful eye and love and Lucian’s healing magic he was feeling very fine.
“Ah Good morning King Silvan, Queen Serenity.”
Lucian looked up from his game of chess, which he and Kaire were playing. Kaire immediately turned her head to look away. The inhibitor stone was still firmly attached to the center of her forehead. Serenity took notice of Kaire’s actions. She saw that every time she entered a room this woman would look away.
“Good morning Lucian.” Silvan glanced between the silver haired healer and his black haired maiden. “I would like to have a little talk with you if that is okay?”
“That is fine your majesty.” Lucian smiled. “What about?”
“I think I will be going.”
Kaire went to stand but Silvan placed his hand on her shoulder. Serenity shook her head at the obvious jealousy that came from this woman. Kaire froze at his touch. Silvan pushed her back to a sitting position gently.
“I would like to talk to you both actually.”
“Kaire it is okay.” Lucian scooted closer to her and grasped her hand. “You are fine my love.”
“My love?” Serenity raised a brow. “You two are...together?”
“Not by choice.”
kaire grunted as Lucian’s arm wrapped around her. He just smiled at her response. This made both Serenity and Silvan give a questioning look. Kaire sighed and relaxed against Lucian’s arm.
“Well I suppose this is one of the things I wish to speak of.” Silvan pulled a chair over towards him for Serenity and than one for him self. “You see firstly, I would like to make it clear that I am great full for your help Lucian.” Silvan sat down only after Serenity did. His hand held hers lovingly. “I know that I would have died without your assistance. I would have been more miserable not being able to see my beloved.”
“I was happy to help my lord. “ Lucian glanced to the chess board a moment. “After the Shi visited my home I was certain something was going to happen.”
“So she did come warn you? About the unknown and him?”
Silvan was still unsure who ‘He’ was. Serenity listened quietly. As did Kaire. Kaire made it a point to not look at Serenity. Serenity made it her goal to watch this woman’s every move. She did not trust her.
“Yes. She also warned my daughter kitten.” Lucian glanced up.”I had been suspecting something ever since that unusual dream. That is why I went and retrieved my lady love.” He saw the question of this matter rise in Silvan’s gaze. “I would be happy to explain my self Majesty.”
“Please do.” Silvan kissed the top most knuckle of Serenity’s hand. “We would appreciate an explanation as to why you are coddling a woman that tried to kill us both.”
“I did not try and kill you Silvan!” Kaire yelled. “I was going to keep you!”
“My love!” Lucian gave her a stern look. “Sit back and listen please.”
Serenity shook her head. Silvan leaned back and pulled his wife closer to him. Serenity gladly shared a chair with him.
“Now.” Lucian ahemd. “She is not the evil person you think. You saved Kaire a long time ago. She had an obsession with you. You were the first person to show her real kindness.” Lucian smiled and held Kaire’s hand just a little tighter. “I have known her for a long time my self. I knew her before she turned to the maidens of chaos as her mother did.”
“Than she is Corinthian?” Silvan’s brow furrowed. “I was not aware Corinthian’s had black hair.”
“They don’t normally. She took what was called a chaos seed inside her self. It’s darkened magic changed her. I removed this seed however. You can see her eyes. They are no longer black. They are silver and very beautiful.” Lucian let his finger stroke the top of her hand..”She may not say she wants to be with me but I know better. She did not report me to the maidens when I would come into the temple. She did not try and kill me when I would do very bold things such as back talk her.”
“Because you were helping me. That is all.” kaire grunted the words. “I do not love him.”
“O...k”
Silvan thought this a very odd relationship. Serenity was agreeing with him silently.
“To continue. I brought her to my home because I do not want the woman I have loved forever to die. She can help us.”
“That’s the thing.” Silvan spoke up. “If she is truly changed. “ Silvan paused. “She can tell us where the chaos people hid the staff of ages can she not?”
“No I can’t.”
kaire looked up at them. All of them had a surprised look on their face, except Serenity. She knew this woman would not offer up help.
“I CAN’T tell you because I don’t know where it is at!” Kaire pulled her hand from Lucian’s. “Don’t you think if I knew where it was that I would be using it?! I certainly would not have this thing stuck to my forehead.” She pointed at the inhibitor stone. “And I would have used it to get You!” she pointed at Silvan. “So NO I do not know where it is at! Don’t ask me!”
Silvan jumped. Serenity blinked back in shock at the outburst. Lucian pulled Kaire closer to him and cleared his throat. Kaire sighed again.
“There we go. She does not know.” Lucian smiled. “I doubt the Chaos people have it anyways. I have been here for a long time. I think I would know something if they did.”
“But the girl at the vault said.” Serenity blurted it out. “S..she said the chaos people stole it.”
“No we didn’t!” Kaire looked at her. “Listen Mrs. Prissy pants. You know by now that I am a pretty honest individual. If the Maidens did not have if the staff..” She smirked..”It is not in these lands.”
“Aside from her Clear dis-respect for our queen.” Lucian gave her a small little glare. “She is right. The maidens would have been the staff’s keeper. They are the ones the people of Chaos turn to when they are in need of something.”
“I see.”
Silvan leaned his head back and sighed. Serenity leaned against him and brushed his hair back over his ear. Silvan smiled at her attentions. He leaned up and kissed her softly. Kaire made a gag face and looked away at this.
“So we were set up.” Silvan spoke again. “By someone who wanted us to start a private little war with the chaos people.”
“I believe so sire.” Lucian wrapped his arm around Kaire again. “She only wanted you. She is a very self determined woman.”
“Wanted? No..I still DO want him.” Kaire looked at Silvan and Serenity finally. “I am the one that deserves him.”
“No Love. That is just your many years of harbored jealousy talking.” Lucian seemed very cheerful and loving to a woman who did not show him the same respects. “She is safe with me highness. I promise I am watching her.”
“Yes well I suppose you had better.” Silvan was trusting Lucian. He didn’t know why he should but he was. “So I guess the next question is where do we go to look for the staff if the Chaos people do not have it?”
“Maybe we should return back to Corinthia palace and ask that little girl again?” Serenity shrugged. “No wait. I don’t know.”
“We could ask Queen crystalis if she can see where the staff is?” Kaire ackd and covered her mouth. “I mean umm..” she grunted. She didn’t mean to help them damn it! “Never mind.”
“Thank you love.” Lucian grinned. “That is a very good suggestion. The Shi People are Seers.”
“As much as I hate to admit it. Yes I think that is the best course of action.” Silvan hugged Serenity and kissed her cheek. “What do you think my love?”
“I guess that is all we can do.” Serenity sighed but also chuckled a little. “I’m sorry. This is just all so frustrating. Again I am reminded of an RPG adventure and this him person is the unknown Dm leading everything.”
“RPG?”
Kaire and Lucian both said this. They had no idea of Serenity’s origins. Silvan chuckled and nodded.
“RPG is something from the world in which Serenity grew up in. Although she is Corinthian. At least by a quarter blood, she did not grow up here.” Silvan let his finger travel through her hair. “She is also Varian. You can see this by her eyes.”
“I was wondering about that.” Lucian grinned. “So you are a child of all three worlds. The one of prophecy.”
“Oh save it. I knew she was Varian. I just didn’t know she had Corinthian in her.” Kaire looked up. “So who is this supposed Corinthian blood linked back to?”
“Her grandfather is the one and only king Marcus Fyrestorm. The one I believe you helped to lead away from Corinthia to kill.”
“O..oh.” Kaire’s eyes were as wide as saucers. “So I helped the prophecy come true!? I didn’t put him there to meet some stupid earthling girl and fall in love!” She groaned and buried her head into Lucian’s shoulder. “Someone is playing very cruel jokes on me.”
“Aww My love. I didn’t think you cared about the prophecy so much.” Lucian hugged her. “We owe you a thanks for that.”
“Oh shove it Lucian.”
Kaire sighed. Lucian chuckled and shook his head. He knew his black haired beauty didn’t want to be helping any of this.
“Well I think I am going to go find Queen Crystalis.” Serenity pulled her self away from Silvan slowly. “Wish to come love?”
Silvan nodded and pushed him self up. His arm wrapped around Serenity as if by reflex. Serenity giggled and hugged on to him. Lucian couldn’t help but chuckle at the pair.
“I will be right here. I don’t think my love wants to really move right now.” Lucian’s hand stroked down kaire’s back. “She has to get over that whole being helpful is bad issue.”
“That’s an understatement.” Serenity quipped. “A very large one.”
“Oh shove it down your throat Mrs. Prissy pants.” Kaire looked up at her. “I don’t give a drak’s arse what you think.”
“Love. She is the queen.” Lucian smiled. “We must respect her. She is an intelligent woman.”
“Not my queen.” Kaire grumbled. “And I’m smarter.”
“I think we will be going now.” Silvan interrupted. “I hope you can teach her a little bit of manners before we get back. I will not sit and listen to her bad mouthing my wife.”
“Oh ignore her Silvan. She is just jealous.” Serenity turned and Smiled very kindly. “I forgive her.”
Silvan grinned and nodded. He pulled her off with him through the balcony exit. They went back inside before Kaire could get another sarcastic statement in.
“Oh! I don’t wan’t want some Prissy pants forgiveness!” kaire tried to jump and pull away from Lucian’s grasp. “I’ll show you jealous if I ever get this inhibitor stone off!” Lucian was not letting her go however. “And if he ever lets e go!”
“”Love!”
Lucian pulled her back into his lap. She grunted and looked up at him.
“What?”
“I think you need a little convincing.”
He grinned and let his lips press to hers. Lucian wrapped both his arms around her so that she straddled his lap. Kaire panted and tried to pull away at first. Damn him! She couldn’t fight him for long though. Lucian knew what she liked.
“You’re evil.”
She murmured. Lucian’s lips traveled up along her neck to her ear. He suckled at the ear lobe there gently.
“And you’re really good.”
Lucian moaned into her ear quietly. Kaire gasped and closed her eyes. He knew what she liked way too well for her own good. Lucian stood with her in his arms suddenly. Kaire wrapped her arms around his neck.
“I think we need to find our room.”
Lucian kissed her deeply. Kaire fell to his convincing ways. She crooned softly and kissed him back while letting him carry her away. When he said he was not your typical healer she believed him. No other healer would take a woman to his bed.
