Chapter 13

No erotic in this chapter but its coming... Enjoy :-)

“Now where to begin,” Penny said to herself. Penny walked out the door closely followed by

James Mitchell, the once upon a time captain, until he handed over the ranks to Penny. Penny

was going to enjoy this playing captain; she was really going to enjoy it. James had given

in way to easy, she knew he was going to be difficult and she knew she would find a way to

put him back in his place. Penny really looked forward to the future of her captain hood.

Stepping out into the breeze as the ship was going back out to sea after an extended stay at

the island where the crew found nothing they were looking for. It was late afternoon and it

looked as if the wind were picking up which would make a swifter sail to wherever the next

destination was. Penny had no idea.

“So Mitchell, the deal is official now. You can help me out for a short time. Your first

job is to tell me where we’re going. So where are we going?” Penny said.

“Well there be some other islands of treasure bout ten miles from here…”

“And where is the nearest port Cap- Mitchell?” she said quickly correcting herself.

“Captain? Guess ya not quite grasping it yet, I suppose I’m still- “ James began to say.

“No! And when we’re finished here you can go scrub the decks!” Penny interrupted.

“Oh is that so Miss Penny?” questioned Mitchell smartly.

“It’s Captain to you! And nothing more! Now ya can scrub them three times over Mitchell!”

“What! No! You- You-“ said Mitchell

“Me? What about me Mitchell?”

“Yer unreasonable!” snapped Mitchell.

“Oh I’m sorry you feel that way. Four times over,” Penny smirked. “Now tell me what I want

to know,” she said.

“25 miles,” grumbled Mitchell.

“Ah well then we can go to one more island on the way, I suppose. It gives me more time to

be Captain. Mitchell I need to explain to the Quartermaster how his job has changed. Go get

him and fetch me the charts too!”

“So demanding,” Mitchell said under his breath.

“What was that Mitchell!” demanded Penny.

“Nothing, Captain!” he grumbled back at her as he walked away swearing under his breath.

Penny listened to his nonsense and laughed to herself as he went off.

“Aye what is it lady, Captain says you be the Captain now?” said the Quartermaster as soon

as he came back over with James.

“It is Captain to you Quartermaster, now give what your real name is,” replied Penny.

The quartermaster looked at James uneasily. “I’ve meddled myself into a lousy deal

quartermaster, she won, don’t judge me and give her yer name,” James said knowing what the

quartermaster was thinking.

“Aye, then Captain Penny, the name is Brent Gitt,” replied the Quartermaster.

“Well then Gitt, now that we’ve officially met here are your orders. You and Mitchell here

are going to work together, just as soon as Mitchell finishes his duty of cleaning the deck.

You two are going to make sure the crew listens to me and go about any discipline necessary.

Any of them men give me mouth or start harrasin I want them stripped down and tied to be

flogged. Is that understood?”Penny ordered.

“I suppose it is Captain,” Gitt said with a near laugh. “And no funny business from either

of ya or I’ll take measures into my own hands,” Penny said.

“Yes my Captain,” replied both of them without any seriousness as they began to walk away.

“Ya don’t believe me do ya,” she said grabbing one ear of each of them and tugging.

“Ow, ow,” they said, as Mitchell went to tug her arm away. “No no Mitchell we had a deal,”

Penny said. Mitchell knew this and figured that he should continue with his plan to let her

pretend she was Captain, even though it was tempting for him to gang up on her with Gitt

nearby. Gitt was a good friend of Mitchell’s they just hardly showed it publicly, in the

presence of the crew. “Oh and I’ll take that for now Gitt,” Penny said as she took the

flogger attached to his belt from him. Oh and since I never dismissed you, you get to do

more after you both clean off the deck.” Penny smirked.

“Sailors! Attention now! For the duration I will be your captain. You may call me Captain

Penny, or simply Captain. You will abide by my rule and if you do not Mitchell and Gitt will

be serving you the consequences.” The crew looked around very confused as if they did not

understand what she was talking about. “These two men you fools! And I am Captain!” Penny

replied disbelievingly. The crew now knowing who she was talking about recognized Gitt and

Mitchell and then looked at each other with her words of being Captain, and broke out

laughing. Penny flung the whip at the closest men striking them in various places depending

on where the tails hit. The men hit began to protest followed by the rest of the men.

“Enough you impudent fools!” shouted Gitt. “Ya will listen to Captain Penny, or ya’ll wish

ya were dead!” shouted Mitchell. Gitt and Mitchell though not pleased with anything were

enough to strike fear in the crew and get them to listen. Penny had plans that would make

her be respected in the near future by the crew; she just didn’t know exactly what they were

yet.
“May we be dismissed Captain?” Gitt and Mitchell said annoyed after the crew was quiet.

“Yes and ya best get to work on them decks men. As for the rest of ya, return to yer

duties!” Penny demanded. Everyone retreated back to their duties as Penny went to the cabin

to make it a bit more homey. Since everyone had a job and one job was the helm Penny had

little to do on the decks.

“James why ya ruining yer reputation for a wench like that?” Brent asked as he and James

began to scrub the decks.

“She ain’t a wench Gitt!” James snapped.

“I- I- you! You have feelins’ for the lass do ya!” Brent said with surprise.

James avoided his gaze. “Ya do don’t ya?” Brent said. “Haven’t ya noticed?” James said. “I

guess I ain’t. Been too busy keepin’ the pathetic crew in line. When did this happen?” Brent

asked. James didn’t answer. “How could you, how does she?” Brent asked.

“I ain’t sure, I- I think so but I aint’ sure how much,” responded James.

“How could she? The way ya’ve treated her, the way I’ve treated her?” Brent said.

“Brent I ain’t know. I think- I think I’m-“ responded James.

“Yer, yer in love with her? Well she is a nice lookin girl, probably good for-“

James gave Brent a glare that could kill. “Well she-“ Brent said cutting himself off. “It’s

true- “ James’s dark eyes pierced more into Brent. “Right shutting up now.” Brent finally

said.

"It’s more than lust Brent. So much more…” James replied trailing off.

“When did ya start getting feelins for the gal, ya never answered that James,” Brent said.

“Shortly after ya walked in and...” James never finished that sentence. With a moment’s

hesitation Brent looked at James and then went from a chuckle to a full out laugh remembering

that particular event. “Ha ha she, she really got ya then ha ha ha! She- she! How’d ya

manage that ha ha ha, she really got ya ha ha. I be mistaken, yer reputation started goin as

soon as ya met her, as soon as she tie- ha ha ha.”Brent began to get rather loud and James

briefly falsely but convincingly joined in the laughter, right before he gave Brent a hard

hit in gut knocking the air out of him causing him to fall the rest of the way to the deck

from his kneeling position. “Oh-k I’ll stop,” Brent said coughing as he caught his breath

again.

Little did either of them know that Penny was behind them listening to the entire

conversation. Fairly pleased with part of what she heard she smiled. Then took a bucket of

sea water she had gotten as soon as Brent called her a wench. She was about to throw the

water at them right then but when she heard James’s response she stopped herself. Now she

saved it just for Gitt. She threw some of the water making sure she got mostly Gitt and then

poured the rest over his head from behind.

“Ya missed a spot Gitt! Do it again!” Penny ordered to the now soaking wet Gitt. Gitt

looked disgusted at James as he began to chuckle at Gitt. The bucket came flying at James,

hitting him in the arm. “Ouch Pen-“ James said. “Captain!” Penny said picking up the bucket

and filling it with more sea water now pouring it over James’s head. “Get to work!” she

ordered as she walked away very pleased with herself to the dismay of the disgusted and very

wet and salty James and Brent who looked at each other and glared at Penny’s turned back.

Brent began to grumble slightly under his breath but Penny heard it. She turned around glared

at them. “Scrub harder fools, you get to do the foredeck next!” she said. James glared at

Brent again and hit him upside the head with his scrub brush. “Ya know Mitchell yer-“ Brent

stopped as he saw Penny turn around again. He simply grumbled at James instead and went back

to cleaning the decks.

By the time Gitt and Mitchell finished the foredeck they had been interrupted three times

due to insubordinate sailors and Captain Penny ordering them to do their job. She had given

them so much to do they could not have possibly finished it all quickly. Penny made it so

they were expected to clean all the ship deck and maintain the behaviors on the unruly crew.

It was not until three men had been stripped and flogged before they finally started taking

Penny seriously, by the quartermasters and Captain Penny herself. Penny was not going to let

Mitchell and Gitt do all the dirty work otherwise she’d never get their attention. Even

James was beginning to take Penny more seriously and further regret this “deal” of theirs.

The men were beginning to hate and fear Penny as much as they hated and feared James and

Brent in their original positions as Captain and Quartermaster. James Mitchell and Brent

Gitt never expected Penny to win rule as quickly as she did in one day. Apparently there was

more to Captain Penny than meets the eye. In just one day Penny had the ship looking almost

new from all the cleaning and fixing she made the crew do. James did not remember the last

time he saw his ship so sparkly looking. Even sails were mended well. Penny inspected each

and every job to be sure it was perfect or as close to perfect as it could be. By the end of

the day the crew including Mitchell and Gitt were hardly moving they were so tired.

“Mitchell! Come to my cabin immediately!” Penny shouted from the other side of the ship. He

rolled his eyes in disgust before going. “Hey mate she be yer lass, can’t blame me, you she

got ya good, ha ha,” Gitt chuckled.Mitchell’s eyes burned into Gitt’s skull as if he were

trying to burn a hole through it. “Ooh I’ve made ya mad!” Gitt replied sarcastically as

Mitchell moved to ring his neck before, “Mitchell! Now!” Penny was enjoying summoning him

like she was. Penny was enjoying her power, perhaps a little too much.

James walked into the cabin reluctantly not wanting to deal with Penny. “What is it

Captain?” he said annoyed. He stood in the doorway choosing not to even close the door

behind him.
“Close the door Mitchell and come in here,” Penny ordered. Again James reluctantly did

so or at least appeared to be reluctant. Penny having him close the door gave him the

opportunity to take care of things, his way. Without her noticing he locked the door and

he walked in further into the cabin.
