Class Of 98 - 12
For the first two months we did nothing to plan for the wedding. Now it is one week before Sean and I have to go back to England and we are making the final decisions. "Ok the date is March 2nd, the time is 1:45 p.m. at the Indian Lakes Resort in one of the gardens for the ceremony. The bride's maids are Kristen, Rachel, Jenny, Chris, Maggie, Kim and your cousins Jackie, and Stephanie. Their dresses are a light pastel green kind of mint. My dress is powder blue." Melissa recites from a sheet of paper.
"That is right. The groom's men are my cousin Mark, Chris's fiancé Bobby, Kim's friend Ray, Maggie's boyfriends Sal, and Sean's friends James, Dave, Armond, and Jack. Their tuxes are white with green vests. Sean's best man is Chris and he is also in a white tux with a powder blue vest. Sean, my uncle Eddie and Raul are in a white tux with black vests." I say.
"By the way why is your cousins husband and your uncle giving you away?" Melissa asks.
"Because I could not pick one of them." I say laughing. "Besides I always said I was going to let the two of them do it instead of choosing one."
"Oh. Well on to the food. For dinner there is roast beef and gravy, ham in a honey glaze, chicken, double baked potato with cheese, mosticolli, corn, green beans, and a garden salad. Rolls, crackers, and bread sticks. Then for desert there is cheesecake with fresh strawberries, tirimisu, and canoli for the adults. For the kids there is vanilla ice cream with chocolate wafer, whip cream, and chocolate sprinkles." Melissa says.
"Oh that is nothing. The wedding cake is five layers of white chocolate cake and strawberry filling. The outside is white icing, with light pink roses, white daises and light purple lilacs. On the top there is a gazebo with a bride in a puffy wedding dress and the groom in a white tux. With a heart that says 'Amy and Sean Forever.' Well what do you think?" I say.
"Wow that sounds great. But I think you will love this." She says pulling out a sketchbook. There is a dress design in it. "This is my wedding gift, the perfect dress. It is strapless; it has a scarf for your neck, gloves. The bottom flares out, the veil has a crown on it and the fabric that covers your face is the lightest shade of lilac that I can find. Last but not least is the trine that is 10 feet long." She says pointing everything out. "We have a date with the seamstress in about an hour."
I hug her. "Thanks Melissa you have been great to me."
"No problem." She says. For the rest of the day we are at the seamstress getting the measurements for the dress. The end of the week we leave to go back to England.
