Chapter 12
Chapter 012: The King's Hall :
Tolkki was silent as they brought before him. He scowled as he immediately recognized the figure of silver haired boy. His every feature stamped him out to be a Stormblade; unless he was mistaken he felt certain. After all Tolkki had known Mikael Stormblade and Mikael's mother quite well. For a time the woman had even interested Tolkki; despite the fact that the woman was already married to her distant cousin.
Kotipelli stood behind them with his blade pointing into the back of the ash blond haired youth. The two appeared to be dressed in simple leather armor, and nothing more ornate then that. The red crest of HammerFall clearly upon their chest showed them for what they were.
Tolkki frowned as he stood up from his throne, "These are the assasins that Stephen would send against me. They are no more then mere children."
Kotipelli argued, "Do not dismiss them because of their age. They were skilled enough to get into a heavily guarded Xasthur, and into the castle. It was here in the corridors of your very castle I found them. They are no doubt sent to slay you. I found them creeping about like common crimminals. If they were truly emissary from HammerFall why do they not carry any such proclamations."
The ash blond haired one objected, "We are not assasins! We have come to speak with you. Demons have infested the Western Lands; specifically your kingdom, your majesty."
Tolkki told them, "I am aware of my country's situation, and it is the fault of HammerFall. It is you whom are using foul sorcery to conquer all the Western realms."
Once more the dark blond objected, "But that's simply not true! It's the Horde of Iced Earth that's behind all..."
King Tolkki's voice bellowed, "Silence! I will hear no more of your ramblings. Until you have provided proof of your accusation. You must prove that you are not assasins intent upon my life. Let me see it."
The Stormblade strode forward then and produced a signet ring. Tolkki immediately recognized the ring and symbol upon it. He gasped, "How came you by that? Have you already murdered my own wife?!"
The silver haired warrior spoke up, "The Hordes of Iced Earth hold her hostage and have used her, and other foul sorcery to make you march against HammerFall."
Tolkki turned his gaze fully upon Kotipelli now, "Are there words true? None have seen this ring except me. But tell me now, have you played me false, Kotipelli?"
A dark half smirk raised up to the lips of the golden haired warrior, "I have only served your majesty. These rodents surely lie. They have used some sorcery to posion you against me."
Tolkki advanced towards Kotipelli, "Do not speak lies to me. I had thought it odd that my wife pushed for war; such a docile and delicate creature as herself. She had even objected in the beginning. What have you done with my wife, Kotipelli?"
He laughed, "Hahahahaha. I have done nothing with her, yet."
Kotipelli's sword was already out. He made a dash towards the advancing King; the sword thrusted forward. Blood spurted out from the wound, left a large puddle upon the flagstones.
The entire hall erupted without warning into combat; those loyal to King Tolkki fought Kotipelli's mercenary warriors.
