Please Don't Die

Serenity awoke on an unfamiliar bed in an equally unfamiliar room. She gasped and sat up very quickly. She remembered being in a fight. No that wasn’t right. She remembered those icy blue eyes coming. She looked around to find that she was the only one in the room. Where was Silvan? She remembered that he was cut. The worst came to her mind. What of he had died on her?! She’d never forgive him if he just left her.

“Silvan? Hello!” Serenity stopped in mid step from the bed. The feel of her loin cloth was different. “Huh?”

She had on the same silvery loin cloth and half top that the female Shi woman was wearing. Serenity quickly let this pass through her mind and out. She needed to find Silvan. She could worry about who was re dressing her later.

“Silvan!” Serenity ran to the door and pulled it open. “Whoa.”

Her eyes went wide. The white marbled halls of Shi palace greeted her. It must have been thrice as large as Corinthia Palace.

“Queen Serenity.”

The whispers filled her mind. Serenity turned and met the face of Crystalis.

“You! W..where is Silvan!? What happened?!” Serenity’s questions of worry poured from her. “Is he okay!?”

“Shh.” Crystalis stepped forward. Her hand touched Serenity’s forehead again. Instant calm came over her. “Your children do not need you so excited. You must remain calm for them.”

Serenity heard her. She did not see The woman’s lips move though. Crystalis moved her hand away and nodded to her.

“How did you..”

“There is enough time for that later. We must go to Silvan. He needs you.”

His name brought her out of what ever trance she was in. Serenity nodded very quickly. She wanted to see him.

“Is he okay?”

“We have sent for a healer that we know can help him. Time is of great importance. You must reach out to your husband and make his spirit wish to stay.”

Crystalis lead Serenity down the long hall to another room. Serenity was already in tears. Make his spirit stay? He hurt him self just to protect her. The still body of Silvan rested before her on a bed. Serenity ran to him and wrapped her arms around him.

“Silvan! Please don’t die my love!” Serenity’s tears fell quickly from her cheeks and soaked the white cloth over his chest. “Please Silvan.”She would have given anything to feel his arms wrap around her right now. “Silvan you must stay with me.”

Crystalis stood back from the two. If anyone could pull Silvan from his dark sleep his true love could. If she could not wake him then the healer could not work his magic and help him to fight the poisons off.
“Silvan!” Serenity pulled her self up from him. She shook his shoulders almost violently. “Wake up! Don’t you dare die on me! I do not give you permission! Wake up Silvan Demetrious!” She slapped her hand across his face. Tears made her eyes red and swollen. “Wake up!”

“Serenity.” Silvan gasped to life. His hands grabbed around his love. “Serenity!”

He was shaking. His entire body was in a cold sweat. Serenity hugged him tightly. Her tears once again found their way to his chest.

“Yes. Fight fears poison.” Crystalis looked at the two. Her whispers entered both of their minds. “The healer will come soon.”

Silvan fell victim to the poison of fear. His dreams showed Serenity and his children laying dead before him. It was making his spirit sink into a deep despair from which he could not find his way out. Serenity’s voice reached him. Her love pulled him from these pits and brought him back to the light.

“I..I saw..you dead. I..saw our children.” He cringed in pain. Silvan panted hard. His wrapped side was bleeding slightly. “Serenity!”

“I’m Here! Silvan I’m here! I’m not dead. The babies are fine. I’m fine. Love look at me.” She forced him to look at her. Both Serenity’s hands were on his cheeks. “Look at me Silvan. I am alive and right here.”

She looked horrified at the glazed over silver of his eyes. Serenity shook her head and panted harder. Silvan cringed at the pain creeping through his body.

“Love! Im here! Listen to me! I’m here. I’m right here.”

Her tears, warm, soft and caring fell over his cheeks. Silvan sighed in some kind of comfort. He looked up at her again. The hazed look to his silver eyes was fading.

“That’s it love. Fight it. I am here. I’m not leaving your side ever. I didn’t leave it at the forest. I won’t you now. You’re stuck with me forever.”

“I will gladly bare that burden my love.” Silvan spoke weakly. “Serenity, I love you.”

“I love you too Silvan.” Serenity hugged him again. His arms were wrapped around her. “Just stay with me. You have to stay here with me.”

It seemed to last forever. Serenity turned at the sound of the door opening. Lucian, the silver haired healer, stepped inside. Behind him was Kaire and his daughter Kitten. What was she doing here? Kitten sat up but Silvan grabbed on to her tighter.

“Don’t leave me Serenity.”

“I won’t leave Silvan.” Serenity turned her head to look at the trio. Crystalis was behind them “What is she doing here. She tried to kill me!”

“Things aren’t always as they seem anymore highness.” Lucian moved beside her. “We can discuss her presence here later. Right now I must save your husband and my king.”

Serenity blinked at the brashness of this man. Lucia’s hands touched to Silvan’s chest. Silvan finally let go of Serenity. She pulled away and clasped her hands together in front of her. This healer was right. She could worry about why the woman that tried to kill her was standing amongst them later.

Crystalis closed her eyes in her own silent prayer. Kaire even looked worried. Something was different about her however. Her eyes were not black anymore. They were silver. Her hair was still ebony black however. The little girl Kitten was holding her hand. Serenity looked from them to Lucian. His hands were a flame and pulling away from Silvan. The white flames were turning black slowly.

“Silvan?” Serenity bit her bottom lip. “Silvan are you awake?”

Lucian held the black flames high above his head and he crushed them in his hands. When they exploded, Silvan gasped for breath. The cut on his side was healed. His eyes were completely back to normal.

“Silvan!”

Serenity dove on top of her poor husband. Lucian had to jump back and away to avoid being hit. Silvan grunted but smiled very happily. His arms were much stronger and they wrapped around her.

“My love. I thought I lost you.” His eyes were full of healthy tears. Silvan trembled from a very relieved feel ing now instead of pain. “I felt so lost. Like I could not find my way.”

“Silvan.” Serenity wiped her cheek against his chest. “You will never lose me.”

Lucian looked up to see Kaire’s face twist into a momentary jealous glare. The healer moved around and pulled the woman into his arms. Kitten let go of her hand and nodded to her father.

“That is what the poison of fear does to you. It traps you in your own mind and makes you live your worst fears. You two share a strong enough bond that Queen Serenity was able to pull you away from the darkness long enough to save you. I remove the poison from your body and I healed the wounds the beat left.”

“Thank you.”Silvan turned his head to look at him. “Thank you for helping me and my wife.”

Serenity wasn’t talking right now. She was crying against Silvan’s chest. She could not imagine her world without him. She could not bare the thought of his death.

Kaire looked away from this. Her body was pressed against Lucian’s as he held her close. She was fighting something inside of her still. She was fighting all those years worth of jealousy that plagued her before.

“I think it’s time to leave them be for now.”

Crystalis’s whispered entered all of their minds. She motioned to the doors behind her. Lucian nodded and pulled a reluctant Kaire along with him. The inhibitor still was placed on her forehead. This was for her protection as much as it was every other person here. If she fell to her rage and exploded there was no telling what might happen.

“I’m glad you’re okay King Silvan. I think your wife is very beautiful.”

Kitten followed the others out of the door. Silvan smiled at the child’s last words. He was grateful to be alive. He owed the healer a chance to explain why he was consorting with a woman who tried to previously kill them. Silvan was a fair man. He could grant that to a man that helped save his life.
