Chapter 13
Marcus had not run into Robin since a week ago when she ran away from him. It was hard for him to stay away from her, but he needed her to figure out what she wanted and why she wanted it. Sure, it was nice to here the words ‘I love you,’ but actually knowing that the person loved you without a doubt was so much better and right now he did not know that for sure. All he really knew was that he loved her more than his next breathe and she couldn’t even tell him why she loved him. To put icing on the cake she was convinced that she had feelings for Kevin.
Marcus had had a run in with Kevin again about two days ago and again he had tried to talk shit. Kevin came up to him and told him all this shit about Robin calling and asking for a chance to get to know him and shit. Marcus listened, but didn’t believe a word of it. He was tempted to kick Kevin’s ass again, but changed his mind when one of his professors walked by.
For a minute he thought Kevin words might have been true because Robin had not tried to call him since he had ran into her at the café. He wanted to go to her room and confront her, but he was the one to break things off with her. Well, in reality he didn’t really break up with her, he just went on a break. So, if she was seeing Kevin she was cheating on him. That was reason enough to go and talk to her.

Robin was laying on her bed watching Sanaa Lathan play Omar Epps for his heart in “Love and Basketball.” If she could play ball she would try and play Marcus for his heart, but she couldn’t even dribble a ball. When Omar said ‘double or nothing’ Robin started to cry again and Marty looked up at her again for the hundredth time. She picked her pillow up and threw it at her.

“You said you would not cry if we watched this,” Marty stood up and turned the movie off.

“I know, but it is so romantic. Love is not really like that.” Robin had been watching romantic movies all day and every time she wished love could be happily ever after like it was in the movies and every time Marty threw a pillow at her.
“Please girl. If love was like that women would have nothing to bitch about and then we would really have some serious attitudes.” Marty walked over to the movie rack to find another movie.

The two of them had decided to spend Saturday watching nothing, but movies and just hanging out with each other. Robin was the one to pick the romance movies out. Marty would whether be watching something with some hot men running with guns and their shirts off. “What next? We have ‘Deliver Us From Eva’ or ‘Bad Boys 2’. Me myself am leaning towards the bad boys. I would love to see Will in the purple suit again.” She smiled at Robin, who was a total Will Smith fan.

“Put in my man,” Robin looked at Marty and laughed because she had thrown the other movie down before Robin even answered her.

“Good cause I was going to do that anyway.” She put it in and walked back over to her bed.

They were in the middle of enjoying Will’s purple suit when someone knocked on the door. “This better be good,” Robin said as she jumped up, “My man is wearing the hell out of that s-..” she stopped when she saw who was at the door.

“Can we talk Robin?” Marcus looked like he had been stressing out terribly.

Robin looked over at Marty and told her she would be right back. Marty was to busy watching the television to even look up, but she nodded. Robin and Marcus walked outside and sat out on a bench that was for the smokers, right in front of the campus fountain.
Robin was waiting on Marcus to actually say something. He was the one to come and get her. She was so happy to see him, but didn’t get her hopes up about anything.

“Robin what went wrong?” He looked straight at her when he asked her that question.

“I don’t know.” That was the truth she still didn’t know why she had feelings for Kevin.

“What do you mean you don’t know? You kissed him and then you tell me you have feelings for him. Now you say you don’t know. Tell me something, shit.” He stood up and looked at her. Robin stood up to and walked to the fountain. Then she turned around and looked at Marcus.

“What about you? You said we were not breaking up, but it has been a month and you still haven’ talked to me. What kind of shit is that? I call you and you don’t answer, then you ignore me around campus and I saw you Marcus.”

Marcus walked up to her and looked at her. “Saw me what? What the hell did you see? Because I know you ain’t about try to put all this shit on me. I ain’t the one kiss someone else. YOU WERE!” The way he yelled made Robin step back and he had to reach out and catch her before she fell in the fountain. She quickly pushed herself out of his arms. She was beside pissed now. Many people had stopped to look at them.

“Don’t you ever fucking yell at me. I saw you with that girl the other day and you know I did. Who was she Marcus? Is she suppose to be my payback?”

“That girl was fucking lab partner. I happen to only be into one girl, but she can’t seem to make up her fucking mind about nothing,” He saw someone stop and look again. “What the fuck ya’ll looking at?” The people started to walk away.

“You know what maybe you should calm down.” Robin began to walk and Marcus followed her. “I love you and that’s why I am still out here, but if you yell at me one more time I do not mind leaving your ass out here.”

“Okay sorry,” he calmed down. “All I want to know is why you would think you had feelings for Kevin

“It was just the way he was changing and he was really a great listener. I don’t really know what in particular I liked. Shit I don’t know.” Marcus walked to her and pulled her to him and kissed her lips.
At first Robin was shocked and just stood there. She didn’t know why he kissed her, but it was the closes that had been in a long time and she was not about to stop him. She brought her hands to his head to cradle it. And opened her mouth slightly when she felt him searching for contact with her. He pulled her to him so that there was nothing between them. Neither one of them wanted to stop and ask why. They just stood their and shared tongue in the middle of campus on a Saturday night.

Marcus pulled back for much needed air. “Did you ask Kevin out?” That was what he had wanted to ask her all along.

“Hell nah. Why?” Robin was still a little breathless her self.

Marcus looked at Robin and knew she was telling the truth. When he was sure that she had got enough air he pulled her back in for more kissing, but this time she pushed him off.

“No Marcus we need to talk. Either you want me or you don’t.”

“Do you want me Robin?” He looked at her as he grabbed her hand and began to walk back towards her dorm.

“Yes I want you. I will always want you Marcus.”

“I want you too Robin. My life sucks without you in it.” Robin stopped suddenly and looked at him with a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
She stood in front of him and pulled him to her. “Now you can have that kiss,” he leaned down to capture her lips. It was hard to kiss her, with her still smiling and laughing. He had to admit just the thought of them trying to be together again made him want to laugh and smile too.

Robin pulled back and smiled at him. “Thank you so much Marcus, I love you so much.” She grabbed his hand again and started walking back towards her dorm.

“Hey sexy,” Marcus said as he walked up to Robin Monday at lunch. He had not seen her since they got back together o Saturday. “I missed you,” he leaned down to kiss her lips before taking the sit beside hers.

“I missed you, too.” Robin pulled him to her for some more kisses. She was so happy to finally have things back to normal. The girls were acting differently towards her again already, but she really didn’t care about them.

“So are you free after lunch,” Marcus asked as he Robin wiped her gloss of his lips. He wanted to get to spend some alone time with her back at his place before Jason got home tonight.

“What do you have in mind?” She looked at him with knowing eyes. Marcus leaned over and whispered in her ear which made her laugh. “Well in that case I guess I am free right now. Let’s go.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him up and out the cafeteria.
