The Blood Of Three Kings

Disclaimer: I think Moore Cats came from one of D&D's games. So no I don't own them. I do own Serenity and the rest of whats going on. The plots mine and so are the characters aside from the cats.

“Serenity Run now!”

Silvan let his sword slide free from it’s sheath. Serenity panted and fumbled to her feet. The staff Veleska had given her formed to life in her hands.

“I won’t leave you!”

“Serenity please! I can handle this Moore cat! “ Silvan let his silver eyes fix on the black creature stalking towards them. “Get to safety my love!”

“I..” Serenity shook her head and ran beside him to stand. “I can’t. I won’t let you fight alone.”

“Serenity please!” Silvan begged her. “My love hurry.”

“No!”

She gasped and her staff tip pointed forward quickly. The Large, horse sized panther cat leapt for them. The light from the staff’s jewel end Glowed to life. The blast from the end formed a shield around her self and Silvan. The Cat snarled and clawed it’s way down the shield.

“Stop paying attention to me and fight this thing Silvan!”

“Be careful love” Silvan sighed. he had no other choice but to listen. "Please."

Silvan looked at the cat. It rammed it’s self bodily into light shield again and again. The look of rage in the cat’s eyes were a definite sign that it was under someone else’s control.

“When I say now. Drop the shield Serenity.”

“O..Ok Silvan.” Serenity looked fearful.

Silvan steadied him self. The Panther cat ruffled the wings on his back. Moore cats were giants. They had the large body of a panther and the wings of a gryphon beast. Their talons were as black as their fur and their eyes were normally amethyst purple. This one’s eyes were completely red however.

“Now!”

Silvan leapt as the crouching cat leapt. Serenity let the shield fall and cringed at the clashing of her husband’s body and the cat's body. She felt a shiver climb up her spine. The staff’s twin dragons warned her of other dangers approaching in the woods.

“Silvan behind you!”

Serenity screamed. The staff once again glowed to life. Tendrils, much like the spell Veleska used, whipped out from it’s end and grabbed around the body of another leaping Moore Cat. They threw the body back and it crashed into the branches of a tree. Silvan Yelled and in an impressive feat of strength Slammed him self back against the Moore cat he was fighting. The cat’s body went unconscious against the tree.

“Serenity!”

Silvan ran over to her side now. His Side bled from the poisonous claw marks the Moore Cat left. His sword buried it’s self into the body of the third and final leaping Moore Cat. Serenity fell to her knees to avoid the slashing of the claw swipe. Silvan shoved the cat’s body away from him and Serenity. His sword pulled from the body and the red blood turned black against the blade. Their bodies turned into a black slime that started to ooze and form a circle around the couple.

“These are not natural beasts.” Silvan grunted and held his side. He still stood strong however. “Get behind me Serenity.” He spoke forcefully.

“Silvan your side!”

“Don’t worry about my side! Get behind me!”

Serenity trembled. The staff in her hand was now glowing so brightly that it beckoned to the skies above. Silvan panted and slashed a black , lunging tentacle away. Serenity’s staff formed the shield over them once again. They were going to be covered in this black slime very soon if help did not come.

“Silvan!”

Serenity caught the feinted form of her husband in her free arm. She struggled to stand and hold the staff in her other hand. Their situation looked hopeless.

“Someone help!!” She screamed it. Her knees threatened to buckle under the weight of having to hold her husband up and keep concentration up for the shield. Serenity’s knees started to bend. She cried out again as the black ooze started to crush its self around the shield of light. She could feel the pressure beginning to tire her mind. “Help Please!!”

A blast of fire burst forth from the heavens. The blaze surrounded them and burned the black ooze. It screeched as if in pain. Serenity panted and fell to the ground. Her body couldn’t take the weight anymore. Her mind was exhausted from having to hold the shield. She took one last dizzy look above, thinking this their end.

“Sleep.”

The words whispered in her mind. She saw the same Shi female jump from the back of a great black dragon. She was walking towards them. Serenity fought to keep consciousness.

“W..who. I..Silvan is..” She grunted. Serenity forced her self up as much as she could. “Help him please.”

“Sleep.”

The hypnotic ice blue eyes of the female came closer and closer. Serenity cried out. Silvan’s body was barely breathing next to her.

“Silvan!”

The Shi female touched Serenity’s forehead. Serenity calmed instantly. She was only able to look at the females eyes one last time before she fell into the darkness of sleep.

“Midnight Hurry!” The Shi female called to her dragon companion. “Take them now! I will take care of the rest.”

She looked around the woods. Her forest had been invaded by him. This could not be allowed. The black dragon swooped the two into his claws and he was off. Time was of the essence. If he were too slow then Silvan would meet his end.

“Reveal your selves!”

The Shi female held her hand up. Her true voice echoed into the deep woods.

“Who dares call the creatures of fear to show them selves?”

The voice did not sound at all welcoming. The Shi female now slammed her own staff end into the ground. The shrill cries that the forest issued around them made each and every creature lose it’s concealment and come into the open. Pain wracked their ears. They were all in the shape of the giant, normally peaceful, Moore cat. As silvan said though, these were not natural creatures.

“I am Crystalis, Queen Of The Shi! I command that you be gone from my forest Creatures of fear. You have no rights or power here!”

Her true voice was shrill to these creatures. Her voice could be compared to a siren. The creatures howled and paws covered their ears.

“You are neutral Shi! Do not interfere in matters that do not pertain to you!”

One of the cat’s stepped forward. The form of the cat started to pop and sounds of bones breaking were heard. It’s body bubbled like black , hot tar and started to grow. Crystalis boldly stood forward and faced this new creature.

“You are one to speak! Leave. All matters with in this forest pertain to me.” She pointed her staff end towards the creature. It looked like a giant, red eyed dragon now. “I will not warn you again.”

“It seems alliances are being made Forest guardian. You choose foolishly.”

“Nae, I choose Rightously! It is you who are foolish creature. Leave and tell your master the Shi have now joined this battle. King Silvan will not die here tonight.”

The creature roared in rage and it’s large claw swiped towards the smallish figure of the Shi Elf. IT screeched in pain as the light of her staff engulfed it. The other creatures around it started to tremble and growl in pain. Each one fell to it’s knees as the forest seemed to come alive and attack them.

“Leave here! You tell your master the next time We will not be so forgiving!”

Crystalis whipped her staff around and tossed the leader of all the creatures into the air. It’s body exploded into a thousand silver speckles. The other creatures around her faded. The magic of the main creature was gone, Their presence could no longer be sustained.

Crystalis nodded and her staff transformed into an arm band resembling two braided gold twigs upon her right arm. She and her forest drove these vial abominations away for now. From her lips, she issued a heavenly whistle. It echoed into the dark of the night sky. With in only a moment of her whistle the sound of wings were heard. A great black Gryphon, the size of a small dragon appeared in the sky and swooped down. It's out stretched claw extended and she leapt into the air and grasped it claw. The great the beast to it's back in one, graceful movement. The material of her silver loin cloth and half top flowed around her as he did.

“Razor wing. Please take me to the village.”

The Gryphon soared into the night of the sky. Crystalis, queen of the Shi, managed to help fight off a more powerful enemy this night but she had no doubt they would only come more powerful and more dangerous. Yes it was definitely time for new alliances to be made. Neutral could not remain so when the fate of their world’s hung in the balance.

A/N: I really am no good at action/fight scenes. I would leave them out entrely if I could avoid it but this scene could not be avoided. No matter how many ways I thought to get around it. I tried my best and hope it reads well.
