Chapter 11 - Promises

Chapter summary: After the fight, Radwan wants his revenge…

Author’s Notes: I don’t exactly want to spoil the story, but that’s where the non-con warning really kicks in, and a part of the fantasy. Enjoy! ^^

Take Me Away
Chapter 11 – Promises

After a quick consensus, Shandaar and friends finally headed on to Gurrensha instead of Jaretak, since the survivors of the recent attack were gone that way. Knocking out that man was the closest thing he had gotten to kill someone. And he was sure that if the spearman hadn’t had come, he was going to kill him. Back then he was almost… willing to do it. He had felt like someone else. Now he felt guilty, even though it was the green-haired dude – what was he called again, Xylon? – who had attacked him at first. Sitting beside Kieran, whose arm was wrapped around his shoulders in a protective embrace, he looked through the opening with an emotionless face. He hadn’t run away to kill people!

“Look, I know you’re worried. It’s normal… are you sure you aren’t wounded?”

“I’m fine” he replied, taking a deep breath. This was too weird. Of course being a prince had a few downsides, but between that and a wedding… he’d have probably taken the wedding; was less violent. That had given the trip a bad note that he could have lived without. Then there was the fact he had been warned that they’d see each other again was nothing but bad news as well.

Even though there would be multiple reasons why those people wanted him dead – or at least he thought so – he couldn’t understand why they were acting. Weren’t people happy? No matter what happened, whatever they would and could have, it seems they always had something to whine about… and he was included in these men and women. Maybe he asked for too much? Still, would his death resolve everything? No. One side would lose eventually.

“We’ll get you food. You’re quite pale...”

Outside of the caravan, things weren’t that much different from Jaretak. It felt as if the people were the same, yet different. The whole country seemed different. He had traveled here and then, but never not in Nael, as far as he could remember. His travels were usually within Kadessa, and other colonies. His mother, the queen, mostly did the longer travels. When he was younger, he recalled the servants taking care of him as his parents would go, then there had been his father’s death, and he had to become the “King” of the castle when his mother was away. The King had been a good swordsman as well, and had probably fought like he just had done before he was born. Yes, he admired the man.

The inn was different from the ones he was used to. The large room contained many beds... single beds. “Well, no wonder why it was cheap” Raya said, glancing around the room. She didn’t like the feeling, with the very dim lighting. “I don’t wanna sleep with a bunch of strangers…!”

Dagmar pouted at the size of the beds; he’d need at least two of those. “I’ll get the food. Anybody that doesn’t want anything?”

“No more peppers! I don’t feel like being sick… I’ll check the others for reactions. Plus the lasts one I ate weren’t that fresh. Why do they have to have a spicy cuisine?” the pink-haired thief continued, walking over to one of the beds and sitting on it. Hard.

“I’m not very hungry, so I’ll just take a soup.” The prince did the same as his female friend and sat on a bed, right beside Kieran, leaning on his body. He felt strangely safe with his lover…

-

When Radwan reached Jaretak for the second time, he felt as his heart was going to stop. Xylon wasn’t moving anymore, but his breath was at least steady. He was probably just knock-out, but the blue-haired man wanted to be sure of this. He had come back in a record time and didn’t even bother asking the girl at the inn’s counter for the inn, taking the closest one he knew was empty. As he lied his lover down, he undressed him gently, checking on his wounds. “Hang on… you’ll be back on your feet soon…” For fear of another event happening, he had insisted to take care of the younger male, applying bandages after the cuts had been cleaned.

For a while, he stood by his side, watching his every move… or lack off. Sometimes he’d doze off, resting his head on the bed or on Xylon’s chest. He always had a finger or a hand on the other male, and jerked at every sound audible to him.

After a good six hours of waiting – he had fallen asleep again – there was a movement coming from the wounded man. Automatically Radwan’s red eyes opened and he got up from his seat, running to the bed where his boyfriend rested. “You’re awake! Finally! How are you?”

The green-haired man cringed at the voice, judging it too loud for his current state. He wanted to throw up, but he blamed it on the pain. “Ugh… what happened?” he asked, cringing once again, his hand reaching for his lover’s and squeezing tight as he felt another wave of pain running through his body.

“Remember the attack? Well the prince wounded you. You’ve been unconscious ever since, so a few hours. I’m happy that you’re not THAT wounded. If you had died I’d-“

The swordsman cut off the other guy, frowning. It’s not like he was about to die anymore. Nor did he ever do… “Dying? Oh come on… it’s gonna take more than a cut… to kill me. I just blacked out. Soon I’ll be fine…”

“I know you will. But if you don’t, I’ll have princey killed, I swear. Years ago I promised I’d never let anything happening to you and that if someone should attempt anything on you, I’d get my revenge. I still stand by that promise.” Radwan looked directly in the yellow pools in front of him, and took the hand to his mouth, gently kissing it. “Now, I want you to rest. I’ll tell someone to come in and watch over you.”

He got up from the floor and walked to the door, giving one last look at the green-haired man on the bed, then left the room. Oh yes, the prince would pay. He wasn’t about to let go of this, oh no. Not as long as Shandaar Kandi wouldn’t have gotten what he deserved. Anyways, he had some time to plan what he’d do to the young man. Down the hall, he spotted one of his crew members, a tall brown-skinned guy. “Kareem, go to the room over there, and watch on the wounded guy for me. Don’t let anybody else in… and unless something happens, don’t leave him alone.” The man nodded and obeyed, entering the room before Radwan was out of the inn.

“Time to take care of you, Kandi…”

-

It was now night, but the silver-haired man simply couldn’t sleep. He was completely nude because of the warm, even though they were in a more public room. His blue eyes, drifted to the body in the next bed. Kieran wasn’t naked, but simply in loose pants, sleeping on top of the covers as well. He was tempted to go and wake him up for a second, to tell him he would go and take a walk, but he noticed that the eyes were wide open.

“Tsk tsk tsk, Shan… you should cover yourself up a bit. We’re not alone…”

“I know. But I’m very warm… and I don’t have any water left. Anyways I’m going to take a walk… I’ll be back soon, okay?”

“Take care out there… this place is new for you. Although not that big, so if you get lost, shouldn’t be any problem. Love you.” The black-haired man nodded, put his lips into a kiss and turned on his back, sprawling on the bed. Shandaar was right… it WAS warm.

The prince left the room after dressing up quite lightly, with large pale blue pants he had bought in Jaretak earlier and a simple shirt of the same color. Taking his sweet time, he exits the establishment, not having bothered taking a weapon with him. It’s not like he’d need it at first, well not for a simple walk outside. Plus it would add an extra weight he didn’t need. The youth smiles as he walks down the streets, taking deep breaths and gazing at the stars, smiling. Nothing better than a soothing, relaxing moment after a very weird day. For a moment he leaned on a pine tree, his eyes scanning the area. There was a dock a few meters away; some of them seemed to be inhabited. The full moon’s reflection could be seen on the river… calm indeed. “Maybe it’s time for me to go back…”

Despite his thought, he went back at wandering around. If he hadn’t dared going in the backstreets before, now he did. Some glowing, blinking spots indicated there were a few cats around. Regretting not having brought anything to feed them, Shandaar extended his hand to pet one, but it ran away before he could touch the fur. He left the street with a slight pout before trying another one. This one gave on the main street, where the markets were open during the day. For now, the stands were empty, although a few big jars remained here and there.

Suddenly, there was a hand on shoulder, another one on his mouth, and he was dragged to the backstreet he came from, the one with the cats. The ones that had stayed there earlier ran away in fear at the sight of the struggle. The silver-haired man couldn’t see his opponent, but it wasn’t someone he was used to. It was someone taller than him, slightly bigger as well. Apparently a good fighter.

“We meet again, princey.”

This voice… he didn’t really know it. It sounded familiar, yet not really. As if he only had heard it a few times. He was spun around forcefully, now facing his aggressor – a blue-haired man. “You… you were with those rebels, right?”

“Yep. You’ve got a good memory, kid. You don’t know a lot of things about me, but I know a lot of things about you. I gotta know my enemy, after all. Especially after what you did to Xylon.”

“Who?” he asked, frowning slightly, not exactly remember who that other person was.

“Small, with green hair… y’know, you slashed him across the arms and the chest, a few hours ago…” His voice was low, almost a whisper, as one of his hands traveled down the body. “So I simply decided to get my revenge, Shandaar.” The smaller tried to punch, but both of his blows were blocked, and his wrists were pinned on the wall, above his head. There was nervousness in his face; the prince was obviously scared. That reminded Radwan of something… “You have a boyfriend, don’t you?” This immediately put a stop to the silver-haired man’s movements. Someone out of his friends knew it… someone that could pose a serious threat.

He felt the hand going lower, under the light pants he wore, touching his member. His eyes closed, not wanting to see the look on the stranger’s face. It was painful even with that and he didn’t need to be reminded about it. He knew it all too well, how would Kieran react. He couldn’t consent to this, no! “Leave me alone…!” But the order was ignored. Even worse; it seemed to drive the man to go further. And it happened.

Roughly, he was turned to face the wall, his arms twisting as they were maintained in the same position. Hopefully it wouldn’t leave too much bruises on his face. The hand previously on his shaft left the area and was used to push the fabric down. A scream escapes from his mouth as Radwan literally shoves his own erection inside his prey’s opening without any lubrification or preparation. “Must be painful, eh princey?”

At the second thrust – the man didn’t waste his time – he cringed and balled his hands into fists, hoping to make the pain go away… in vain. The hand on his wrists was starting to cut his circulation. That wasn’t the worse, however. Every of Radwan’s pushes inside him were making him feel guilty, as if part of him enjoyed it. Guilty of standing there doing nothing. Guilty of betraying Kieran… his beloved Kieran. He could push him away… he could kill the guy… but he was unable to fight back. All he could do was sob quietly and wait. Yet it was unbearable…

He was going faster and faster, almost in trance. The taller man’s mind was set on hurting Shandaar, and using this situation to relieve himself at the same time. If he was able to mix two good things into one, the pleasure would double. Adding more strength, he barely cared as the body was crushed between his own and the wall. As long as he taught a lesson to the brat who hurt his lover and reach orgasm, nothing mattered. The guy could die, for all he cared. He deserved it after all. Plus he was supposed to die one day or another… what did matter in this? A death like this, in pleasure, was much better than any other.

Pleasure was the last thing on the young prince’s mind. Now that the guilt was pushed back, anger had taken place. Once the blue-haired man would be done, what would he do? Hurt him? Kill him? Rape him back? Simply do nothing and fall to the ground? The left side of his face as well as his torso were grating on the rough wall, though not lulling the pain from the rape away. It just got everything worse. That and his own erection… oh this one was quite annoying. But whenever Radwan’s hand wandered back to his cock, he was guilt-ridden.

“Come on, princey. Relax… you usually like this, don’t you? I don’t think you’re a top. You’re used to this, bitch. MY bitch for now. Hehehe… hmmm… you’re still kinda tight. That guy neglecting your desires?” The taller man continued to ram, closing his eyes to focus on his task.

Shandaar opened an eye as he turned his head to take a look at the other male’s expression. When the guy noticed the look on his face… everything stopped. Time seemed to be suspended. Normally, the other man had blue eyes, but right now, they were of a golden yellow, with only slits for pupils. He growls and yanks his shaft out of the silver-haired youth, knowing that something was very wrong and for his sake, it was better to stop it there. “Fuck it…” Before the younger man makes a move, he receives a hit at the base of his neck. There was a short cry, and then black.

Another growl, and the blue-haired guy left the scene. It was… unbelievable. “Damnit, Kordell was right.... gotta join him.”

-

Dawn. “Ugh… morning already?” Kieran yawned and ran his hair in his short black hair, cringing as the male giant let a loud snore out. The so-said snore even woke Raya up. The adventurer blinked some more as he looked at the girl, who was now wide awake in her bed, on top of the blankets. “You didn’t get undressed?”

“Well duh. Think I’d really get half-naked with a bunch of guys in the room? You and Shandaar, I wouldn’t mind, you guys are gay, which mean not attracted to women, so not to me, therefore don’t pose any threat.” She stretched and stood up, letting her arms drop aside her light frame. Her golden eyes darted to the empty bed beside Kieran. “Talking about Shandaar… he got up early, no?”

“Shandaar? I thought he went to take a walk earlier… was more than midnight…” The male youth turned around to face the bed. The bed hadn’t been made yet. “And he isn’t back yet?” Following Raya’s move, he got up and went around the mattress, searching for any clues that the other had come back earlier and left early. But everything was just like when he had left… even his sword rested on the floor, beside the silver armor his lover used. “Oh shit. He isn’t back! Dagmar!”

Another loud snore.

“DAGMAR! Shandaar’s gone! GET UP!”

The blonde slowly opened his eyes, annoyed by the ruckus around him. “What’s going on…?”

“I just told you! Shandaar! He’s gone!”

As the raven-haired male sounded quite angry, and it was indeed better to comply and get up. “He can’t be that far. Don’t fret, kid. We’re gonna search around.” Picking up his axe, he exited the room right away. No messing around with Kieran while he’s pissed. The remaining young adults left the room as well, picking up their respective weapons.

People were already active in Gurrensha, maybe because the heat had come back to a “normal” level, according to anyone who’d come from Central Kadessa. No wonder why the city was almost dead by eight or nine at night. The younger male looked around the area, not finding any sign of his lover and since his stress level was rather high, he started to run in the direction of the people, asking them if he had seen a silver-haired man, wearing a light blue outfit… but most residents weren’t speaking the same language. Tired of wasting his time, he continued running around, not bothering for his friends, who simply followed him.

There were people everywhere, but not the man he was searching for. They looked at him as if he was crazy, but it’s not like he bothered. All that mattered was the well-being of the Kadessan heir… his boyfriend. He stops a moment to take a deep breath, and spots two men with white turbans running passed him. They had come from the next street, near the dock. Getting closer to it, he prayed not to find a body… not to find a dead guy… well at least not a silver-haired guy. It was mean, but that’s what he was thinking about. He went in the direction that the two men came from, and turned to the next street, passed the docks, and into another one.

Men, women and some kids had gathered in a circle. From the general atmosphere, it didn’t mean good… Kieran walked up to them, pushing a few of them aside, and gasped at the sight.

On the ground, half undressed, with slight traces of blood on his face, Shandaar was lying on the ground, his eyes shut.

“Still alive” one of the women said to the approaching figure “Still warm, breathing. Normal. Man just unconscious.” Kieran’s stress level dropped and he kneeled beside the smaller figure and gathered him in his arms with a sigh of relief. He could feel his mate’s heart beating. He looked angelic, asleep like that… although normally he’d have woken up by then. The raven-haired youth thanked the woman in her language – one of the few words he had picked up – and walked passed his friends, his eyes set on the prince.

As Raya and Dagmar followed him back to the inn, they talked about what could have happened, but none could think of something major. They knew Shandaar wasn’t exactly the kind of guy that wouldn’t fight back, so something or someone must have attacked him when he least suspected it. Maybe it was related to the earlier attack…

The black-haired swordsman entered the inn with the help of Dagmar, who pushed the door opened. The innkeeper said something to another man in his language about having a wounded guy, but Kieran refused any help. No one could be trusted. He quickly went to the room and closed the door on his way, lying the younger man on the first bed and sitting beside. He’d never leave Shandaar alone again. Never.

-

About an hour after, the prince woke up. He groaned and yelped at the pain in his lower area, quickly jerking to his side. So that’s what it felt like, having sex without preparation.

Sex.

He had never consented to anything…

And there was Kieran, right beside him, his black eyes scanning his body. “Shandaar… thank the gods you’re alright…” He wanted to jump on the bed as well, but noticed his friend’s state. The way those teary sky blue eyes looked at him, the way the man hugged himself… no, he wasn’t alright. “What happened? Shandaar… what happened? Please!”

As if he was afraid of what was coming, he chose to keep silent, taking deep breath in order to calm down. Maybe he could tell what indeed happened, but he couldn’t afford losing his lover and his only friends… they’d probably never even believe him. “I… there was…”

“There was what? Come on, my love…”

It hurt. He kept replaying the scene in his mind, feeling the fighter’s cock inside him… his hands running around… he felt dirty. “I’m sorry Kieran… I’m sorry…”

But the adventurer was persistent; he wanted to know what went wrong. “Sorry for what?”

There was no use in being a coward, even if that meant losing all around him. Something he had been taught from his father, years ago. Taking over his fear, he opened up more. Whatever was meant to happen would happen, period. “That guy with the blue hair… he was here. He followed us. He saw me and… and… had what he wanted. Revenge. He raped me. I’m sorry, it’s my fault…”

“Your fault? Come on, Shandaar! You defended yourself from that small guy! To hell if they were lovers! You did what you had to do, honey… don’t worry. We’ll… we’ll find a way through that. I promise.” And to support his point, Kieran got up and wrapped his arms delicately around his lover’s frame, kissing his forehead.
