I keep pacing back and forth by the phone all day. As the sunlight fades away, I’m in even more of a panic. I’m going to call him… No I’m not! Yes, I am! … No!
I sigh lightly and wonder what’s the worst that can happen. So I start dialing the guy’s number… and then I hear banging outside and I suddenly shout, “Thegremlinsareheretogetmeee!!!!”
“Uh… what?”
I freeze when I hear a voice coming from the phone. “Umm… I’m sorry!” There’s a very long pause. “H-hello?”
“Who the hell is this?” asks the guy, sounding more irritated.
“Uh, I’m so sorry… Um, I’m Alec… Takeru’s roommate…”
“Ohhh, right. The guy with… certain issues.” Certain… issues…? “Alright, so what? Did you want a date tonight?”
I can tell the guy is grinning on the other end just from the tone of his voice. “Uh, sure. Just once.”
“Alright, babe, I’ll be over soon enough,” and he hangs up the phone.
As I put the phone back down, I look at myself, then head into the bathroom to make myself look presentable. I shower, brush my hair, bind my breasts, put on… decent looking clothes, and then debate whether or not to sneak into either of the guys’ rooms for some cologne or something. I decide against it…
About an hour later, the guy from the phone arrives… in a bright red convertible. I just stare at it for a few minutes, then walk out and get into the passenger’s seat, and he starts driving off. “So you’re name is Alec, right?” I nod at him. “That’s cool… You can call me Anthony.”
“Hello, Anthony.” I smile at him lightly, and it only takes a few minutes for us to arrive at the movie theater. Before we get out though, he turns to me, a serious look on his face. I wonder what he’s doing, and then he asks, “Are you preparing for a sex change or something?”
… What?
“I ask because you’re soo feminine looking… Takeru was wondering the same thing.” A dramatic sigh escapes him and he continues on. “It’s such a shame, really… I’m sure you’d make a nice boyfriend for someone one day.”
First my mom convinces the guys that I’m gay, and now this guy is asking if I’m getting a sex change?! “No, I’m not…”
“Really? There’s no reason to deny it if it’s true…”
“I’m really not getting a sex change…”
“Okay.”

The date itself isn’t really all that bad. I had a lot of fun with Anthony, and he even told me about a couple of his ex boyfriends. Apparently neither of them were very faithful to him… and now he has a total crush on Takeru, but he keeps turning him down. Takeru is straight, but Anthony refuses to give up on him. He even took me on a date only because Takeru asked him to.
When I get home, it’s already pretty late, so I just go to my room to sleep for the night. Leaving the light on again, I fall asleep rather quickly, and wake up late the next morning. I walk into the living room in my nightshirt (it goes down to my knees) and check out the window. I’m so relieved when I see Takeru’s car in the parking lot. So, he did come home in the early morning hours after all.
I return to my room and quickly get dressed, then come back out to the kitchen to start making some breakfast. Once everything is prepared, Takeru comes out. “I smell food…”
“Heh, yeah.” I hand him a plate, a smile playing across my face. “Here you go.”
“Thank you.” As he takes it, he asks me, “So, did you have fun with Anthony last night?”
“Yeah, I did actually…”
“Good.” He goes over to the table and sits down, digging into the food.
“Yeah…” I go and sit next to him with my own plate. “He asked me an odd question.”
“Oh? What’d he ask you?”
“If I was getting a sex change…”
Takeru coughs, choking on his food a little. “He seriously asked you that?”
“Yeah, he did. And said that you had been wondering about it too.”
He just looks at me, not saying anything.
I just look back at him for a minute, and simply say, “Well, I’m not.” And I start eating. Hopefully Nick will be back home again soon. I actually miss him… a lot. It’s so strange though… why do I miss him so much?
Maybe I like him… but I shouldn’t. I mean… he thinks I’m a guy after all. And he likes someone else, most likely another girl. I wonder if I’ll get to meet this one. Hopefully she’s better for him than Molly was. He really deserves better than her.
“Alec?” I glance over at Takeru, wondering what he wants to say now. “I’m sorry for assuming… that you were…”
“Oh, it’s okay. I’m not that mad.”
“Really?” He gives me a somewhat hopeful look.
All I can do is smile and say, “It’s no big deal… just don’t make anymore crazy assumptions… It’s weird to get asked such questions by a total stranger.”
“Then if you’re not…”
“Hm?”
“… Nothing,” he then says, looking away from me. I blink at him. What’s up with him now?
