I stared. A lot. For like, two minutes straight before I finally looked away.
“Does that make you hate me more?”
“What?” I asked, still trying to think of what the hell Seth just said.
“Do you hate me more now?”
“Why would I hate you?” I looked up at him. Fuck, of course not, I want him to do something to me.
“What, you want me to do something to you?” Okay, yeah, Seth is psychic.
“Are you saying you really want to?” I had to turn this conversation around, and I think I might have done so, if the paleness of Seth’s face was anything to go by. “And also, why the hell do you mean by ‘hate you more?’”
I think all you should know by know that I do not hate Seth. Pissed, yet, but not hateful.
“Why do you think?” Seth scoffed. “You ignore me- on purpose, you’re always trying to annoy me, and sometimes I wonder if you want anything to do with me.”
I stared at him when he finished.
“Sorry if that’s the way I am,” I mean, yeah, I do all that to just about everyone. Talk to Blue, she’d tell you the same, too.
“Somehow? I really doubt that.” Seth rolled his eyes.
“What do you care, anyway?” I asked, starting to get pissed, because he didn’t believe me.
“I don’t know, okay?” Seth glared at me for a few seconds, before looking away. Can’t keep eye contact, now, can you? Jeez, I can do better. Been staring at the damn man for a while now.
“It also happens when I’m mad.” I just had to tell him, like he’d believe me.
“What’d I do to piss you off, then?” I let out a laugh.
“For one thing, you got a demon trying to kill me.” Seth went back to that really sad look, where he looked sad, and gave me unintentional puppy dog eyes, looking like he was just begging for forgiveness.
“What are we going to do then?” I asked, wanting to get the conversation of what I do or that Seth is, in fact, gay.
Wait, does that mean he actually does want to fuck me, like I thought when he said that he might do things to me? Fuck, I gotta make sure I drop my guard a lot.
“Like I said, go to my place, over in Michigan. I’ll get a chance to get a hold of his family, see if they can’t do something about him, and maybe then you can go home.”
“What if they can’t?” I asked. I don’t want just a maybe.
“Then I’ll kill him.” Seth said harshly, glaring at the ground as if he was trying to kill it.
It’s not possible, I know. I mean, it’s not alive. Stick a knife in it as much as you want, ain’t gonna get you nothing, except for a dirty kitchen utensil that is also a very good item to throw at people you really don’t like. You know what? Go ahead and stab the ground, because when you do throw it at someone, the wound will get infected. Better and better, right?
“Then… what’re we going to do about you wanting to do with me?”
“Not much for subtlety, are you?” Seth gave me a tired smile, before looking back at the ground.
“Sorry?” Guess I shouldn’t have just blurted it out like that.
“I really don’t know why, but I really do want a chance to do something to you.” Oh, the meaning behind the words. Imagine imagine.
So, how are we going to do this? I mean, something meaningful. I still think Seth needs to pay for what he’s done, and I can’t just give myself to do whatever he wishes without working for it.
I mean, if he could get Gregory to stop coming after me, then of course, I’d let him do whatever he wanted, cause I think he’d of earned it by then.
That’s when I came up with a wonderful idea.
“Wanna make a deal?” Seth looked up, raising one of his eyebrows.
“Depends.” I snorted, before shaking my head.
“How bout this, you cannot touch me, or do anything, unless I’m safe to go back home, if you’re the reason why. And, if you are, the night we’re done with Gregory for good, I’ll give you a night to do whatever you want with me.”
“Anything?” I nodded.
I guess, in a way, I wasn’t expecting Seth to agree to it, but I was surprised when, he nodded… very enthusiastically.
“Deal.”
Breath, Jay, breath.
Okay. We had a deal. No touching me till me safe.
Good, that means I can still touch him.
I am going to torture him.
I know it’s not nice, but I really really want to. Besides, I have to make sure Seth really wants me. It’s only fair, right?
And I also really really need to call Blue, because she’s going to kill me before Greggy ever even come’s close.
I mean it, if Blue hasn’t already called the hunting party, she’ll come after me herself.
“Do you have a phone?” I asked, and Seth looked up, sort of suspiciously.
“What for?” He asked, already reaching for his pocket.
“Gotta call my sister.” I told him, and then his hand stopped, right when it was reaching in, and he shook his head.
“No.”
“Come on, I gotta tell her I’m alright.” I begged, and he thought it over for a minute. God, what’s wrong with calling my sister? I asked him that, too.
“I don’t want you getting your family involved.”
“Believe me, she probably wouldn’t believe me.” Okay, sort of a weird sentence. Whatever. “Besides, I should tell her I’m taking a side trip or something, cause I’m supposed to go somewhere.”
“Really.”
“Shut up. I mean it though. Might as well not let my family think I’ve been kidnapped.” Even though I have been. “And start looking for me.”
Seth looked like he was mulling it over, and finally handed me his cell.
Great, now I had to figure out my phone number. Blue got her cell phone taken away, and everything is in the phonebook in my cell phone.
In the end, I decided to wing it, push the numbers I was pretty sure was my home phone number.
I got her on the seventh try.
“Hey, Blue?”
“Where the fuck you been?!” She practically screamed into my ear.
“A-around.” Damn, I should have just waited till I got my cell charged, and just texted her.
“Don’t fucking give me that shit, I’ve been worried sick about you, I thought you’d been kidnapped by the guy you wanted to fuck-”
“Shut up!” I looked at Seth, who had stared up at me in surprise, I don’t think he heard what Blue said.
“What, is he there now?” She immediately calmed down.
“Yeah, now will you please let me talk?” I waited, until she finally agreed.
“I’m not gonna be able to get to Washington for a while, and I won’t be coming home.”
“What, are you eloping to Canada or something?” I snorted, we were going near the border, if that counted. But no, we weren’t getting married.
“No.”
“You’re not going to tell me, are you?” Damn she’s smart.
“Yeah.”
“You mean you are going to tell me?” What?
“No.” I retorted.
“Oh. Are you sure?”
“No.”
“What?”
“What?”
“Jay, just… fine, whatever. You’re not in trouble are you?”
“Not in any kind you’d ever think of.”
“What, the guy got a boyfriend who’s after you now?”
“Geh…” Holy fuck.
“Jay…?” She sounded angrily calm. Like she was about to explode.
“Look, I gotta go, I’m fine, everything’s fine, I’ll be fine. Okay? I‘ll call you later.”
“Fine. One more thing…” I had a really bad feeling.
“What.” Bad. Bad bad bad bad bad.
“Is he experienced?”
“…Goodbye Blue.”
“Wait-” I hung up, and handed the phone back to Seth, who was giving me an odd look. Surprised, mostly.
“Sorry about that, she’s a little… odd.”
“If she’s related to you? I wouldn’t be surprised.” I wasn’t sure if I should be offended by that.
“So what are we going to do now?” I asked, and he stood up. Looking at me exasperatingly.
“Go to Michigan.” I rolled my eyes.
“I know that. I mean what are we going to do now? Go the car…? Get an ice cream…?” God I want ice cream. Chocolate swirl with sprinkles… Or even just chocolate with sprinkles, hot fudge, and chocolate chips. Do you have any idea how good it is?
“You have a demon that’s out to kill you, and you want an ice cream?” Another WTF look.
“What the hell else am I going to do? Besides, you’re probably going to think of all my safety issues,” I rolled my eyes.
“…Lets just get going, okay?” He grabbed onto my wrist, and started pulling me towards some direction. Probably to the car.
“Hey, I can walk on my own, you know.” the fucker ignored me.
Eventually we got to the car, and got in. It reminded me of something.
“What were we doing here, in the first place?” Seth turned to me, before looking at the building he had been in, earlier today, yelling at some man.
“Trying to get a hold of someone from Gregory’s family. Unfortunately, he’s going to be away for a while. Won’t be able to get a hold of him for another week or so.”
Oh, well, that explains a bit, cause truthfully? It didn’t even cross my mind until now.
Seth looked around him for a minute, and I was about to ask him what he was doing, when I remembered.
“Check under the seat.” He looked at me confused for a second, before doing what I told him, and came back up with a glare, keys in hand.
“Why the hell did you hide my keys?”
“I do a lot of things when I’m pissed. This is just one of many.”
“Wonder what else you did…”
“Check your wallet.” I wonder just how many WTF looks I’ll be able to get from him while he’s being my personal, and super sexy bodyguard.
“You… didn’t…” He opened his wallet, which he had lying between the seats. Great place to leave it, especially when he parked, to his credit, in a very great place to get mugged.
Probably shouldn’t have even said anything.
“Jay.”
“I’m sorry if I thought you owed me for kidnapping me.” I turned my head and looked out the window.
“Just keep it then.”
“Alright.” I smirked. Yes! I have money!
Now I don’t have to bug Seth to buy me something.
Fuck that.
Special thanks to MysticMoon for telling me!
