Class Of 98 - 10

I am standing in front of the Moonlight banquet hall. I see two girls walking towards me. One is short with long brown hair wearing a floral dress this is Kristen. The other is a little big in the shoulders but her face and short brown hair take away from that in her navy blue dress, this is Rachel. "Oh my god. Rachel. Kristen, is that you?" I ask.

"Yes it is me Amy." Kristen says hugging me.

"Hey girl we heard about the man. Congratulations." Rachel says giving me a hug.

"We broke up. We got in to a big huge argument and I broke it off." I say.

"Oh I am so sorry." She says. "I won't bring it up."

"Ok. Where is Melissa?" I ask.

"Oh she is coming later, lets go inside." Kristen says. We enter the hall. The whole place is decorated as if for a prom. A banner across one of the walls says 'Truly Madly Deeply, Morton West High School Prom '98"

"This place is great." I say as we sit down. We talk for a long while until two guys ask Rachel and Kristen to dance. I am now sitting alone.

Sean and Melissa walk in to the hall. Amy's back is to them. Melissa signals to Kristen and Rachel to sit back down. "I will go first." Melissa says walking off. Sean looks at Amy, she is wearing a black ball gown that tied at her neck. Over this she wears a white shawl. She looks like an angel in black to him. After Melissa sits down he starts in the same direction.

He is now standing behind Amy. He puts the corsage down on the table. "The beauty of these flowers cannot compare to your beauty." She turns around tilting her head up. Her eyes are sparkling with love and understanding.

I look up in to his eyes and see the truth and love. "I am sorry." I say starting to stand.

"No don't." He says and gets on one knee. He takes the box with the ring out of his coat and opens it. "I know how much you wanted an engagement ring like this. Do you remember the first time I did this?"

"We were in a small café in London. It was two weeks after the business became a success. You got down on your knee and just did it." I say.

"Well this time it is going to be more formal." He says picking up the box with the corsage opens it, picks up my right hand and puts it on me. He then takes the ring out of the box and picks up my left hand. "Miss. Amy Nicole Showers, the first time I saw you, you had come up to my work not really knowing what to expect. I have loved you ever since. Would you do me the honor of becoming Mrs. Amy Nicole Showers Makins?" He says slipping the ring on my forth finger.

"Yes." I say falling in to his arms and hug him. My friends start clapping. In the middle of the reunion our class valedictorian goes up to the microphone.

"I would like to call up Miss. Amy Showers to receive this plaque of the most successful person in our class." He says holding up a plaque.

I walk up to the microphone and she gives me the plaque. "Thank you. Man I cannot believe that it has been ten years. It seems like yesterday we just got our diplomas. Well I guess I will stop talking now before you start booing me off of the stage. Thank you." I say and the class starts to clap again. I walk back to the table. The rest of the night we talk about everything that happened to us. Then that last dance is called.

"Madam would you dance with me?" Sean asks holding out his hand.

I take it. "Of course." I say. The music starts. The song is 'Truly, Madly, Deeply'. Melissa dances by with a cute guy from our graduating class. I mouth thank you. She mouths back not problem. A little while after the dance starts balloons drop from the ceiling.

"I love you." Sean whispers.

"I love you too." I whisper back. The rest of the night Sean and I just drove around until dawn. With the new day brought new light.
