Te Hehsu

Galt is the head of the military. He's made a bit of an appearance in Sequel but those who read Partner will know him better.

Read, Review and Enjoy.

After Galt left, their parents came up. Rel announced that Mari was pregnant to his parents who just stared at him like he was stupid. Apparently all the Sidhe in the building had known what Mari and Rel had done and that Mari was pregnant. Then they all sat down to supper and Rel asked the big question.

“Can Muan and I go with Mari and Una?”

Ashun choked on a button mushroom, coughing and smacking her chest. Once she stopped coughing, she gasped, a funny look on her face, “go with?”

“Travel with.”

“Oh.”

“What did you think I meant?”

Ashun went bright red, as well as the other Sidhe, telling Rel exactly what the young woman had been thinking, “nothing. Well. Travelling is of course allowed. Though we would highly encourage you to settle with the tribe.”

“Which tribe?” Rel asked, “aren’t your parents and what not…” he trailed off at the look Ashun gave me.

“They,” She sniffed as if she didn’t care, “have deemed me soiled and have said that I have no place amongst them any more.”

“Oh. Well. At least they’re safe now?”

“I suppose. Eat your vegetables.”

Rel chewed on a carrot stick and tried not to grimace. He was starting to get used to raw vegetables but carrots were still… ew. Mari picked up a slice of cucumber when Ashun turned those purple eyes to her. The rest of dinner was eaten in silence and the group collected around the coffee table for tea and small chat.

The new window was installed by the time Rel came out of the bathroom from his shower. And sitting on the couch was Mn. Well. That wasn’t true. Mn wasn’t sitting on the couch, she was sitting on Muan. Who was looking slightly flustered as Mn explained to the parents who and what she was and did they know that Muan couldn’t climb at all? Why when they were younger…

And she trailed off as she spotted Rel. Mn grimaced and slid off of Muan’s lap, ensuring that there was an obvious space between her and Muan. Rel. Well, he was cranky. So he grabbed his control unit and dropped into the spot between Mn and Muan, shooting Mn an evil look before he pressed himself against Muan’s side and tapped through his nanobots, checking on them all.

“Is Una alright?” Mari asked, drawing the female’s irritated attention away from Rel.

“He broke the bone in the upper leg. So he is going to need that cane.”

“Can’t just heal it?” Rel asked sarcastically.

“No,” Mn responded in an acidic tone, “his body only instantly heals when the wound is mortal. And even then, sometimes it takes time for it to completely fix itself.”

“Are you going to let her…” Rel looked at Muan for support but the male had a silly little grin on his face, “what’s so funny?”

“Lel te M’wn M’n,” which sounded like there was a soft ‘u’ between the ‘m’ and the ‘n.’

“You think it’s funny that she’s being mean to me?”

Muan got the look of a male who had been asked a loaded question. Which was exactly what Rel had asked. The male was silent for a long moment before he said something in Sidhe.

“Of course he would not find it funny that his pet is upset. How he going to get pleasured if his pet is angry at him and thus disobeying,” Mn asked in response.

Muan leaned just a little down the couch, an inch or so towards her, and knocked Mn off of her seat with a flick of his hand. The male then launched into a tirade that, Rel was fairly certain, explained to Mn exactly how she was wrong and the consequences if she called Rel a ‘pet’ again. Mn seemingly apologised and then curled up at Muan’s feet, head on his knees.

“I thought she was alpha,” Mari said, verbalizing the thought Rel had.

“I am,” Mn responded with a sigh, “I could snap any of your necks before he could stop me. If he could stop me. But then you would all be dead and I would be out a brother. Una told me he was a pet.”

“I am not a pet.”

“I know that now.” Mn muttered irritably.

Rel sat in silence for a moment before the question began eating at him, “what did he say I was?”

“…” Mn looked at Rel, then glanced at Muan, “you two cannot speak to one another?”

“We don’t have a common language. What did he say I was?” Rel asked again.

“He said a great deal about your beauty and intelligence and how it was an insult to call you pet,” Mn shrugged, “but he didn’t exactly give you a title, if that’s what you mean.”

Rel tried not to show that he was upset by that. He made a non-committal sound at the back of his throat and began tapping away at the commands, setting the nanobots up to protect themselves during the night.

“That upsets you?” Mn asked Rel.

“No. Of course not,” Rel muttered back, feeling something welling up in his chest, “why would I care what he called me or not? We’ve only known each other a little while. I mean. It’s not like we’re. You know. Involved or something.”

He was going to cry.

In front of everyone.

No, no he was not going to cry. Rel focused on his control unit and checked his numbers. Several billion nanobots, spread across the nation and even over seas. The army bases, when Rel pulled up a map of the world and overlaid the spread of his bots atop it, were very obvious. A few secret ops were even obvious, moving up through Valease.

But it didn’t interest him.

Rel realised there had been a long silence and looked up. The parents looked highly uncomfortable. Mn was studying her nails, some of which had cracks from the white all the way to the cuticle.

Muan was watching Rel. Rel blinked at Muan and then over the room again. He looked back at Muan and cocked his head to the side.

“Te?”

“Te hehsu?”

Rel blinked, “eh? Te?”

“Te hehsu?”

“He’s asking if you’re stupid,” Mn muttered under her breath before she suddenly found her nails very interesting.

Muan watched Rel’s mind stumble over the Sidhe he knew. He dimly recalled the words ‘te hehsu’ from the rally, some sort of question of the possibilities of intelligence in other species. But.

“I am not stupid.”

“Te hehlsu.”

“You’re being stupid.”

“I am not.”

“Hehsu.”

“Stupid.”

“Stop translating, I get what he’s saying. Because. Surprise, I am a genius,” Rel snapped at Mn, then halfway through directed his attention at Muan, “meaning I’m not-”

Muan kissed him. A hand wrapped around the back of his head, tightening just enough to remind Rel who was stronger. Muan’s tongue darted into Rel’s mouth and Rel whimpered against those lips. The Sidhe broke off the kiss, met Rel’s eyes and said, “te hehsu.” and walked off.

“I’m not stupid!” Rel protested, not understanding why Muan had said that.
