Chapter 10

Chapter 10

"Have fun you two!" And then Mallory was gone, disappearing into the crowd and leaving Matt and Tobias alone, well as alone as they could be on a crowded dance floor surrounded by gyrating bodies that were moving to the pulsing beat of the music.

Feeling once again awkward, Matt attempted to turn around but Tobias held him still, one arm draped possessively across his chest while his free hand moved to grip Matt's hip. Matt jumped again when Tobias began moving behind him, directed Matt's hips with him in a slow circular movement. "T-Tobias…"

"Relax…" Matt could feel Tobias' breadth against the back of his ear and shivers ran up and down his spine. He tried to do as asked, but it was hard, his arms hung aimlessly at his sides and he knew they were getting looks from the surrounding people. As if reading his thoughts, Tobias reached down and grabbed Matt's hands, directing the brunette's arms up and over his head so his hands were linked behind Tobias' neck before he returned his hands to were they rested before, one across Matt's chest and the other on the brunette's hip. "Better?"

"Umm…" Matt frowned, feeling exposed, but Tobias didn't give him too much of chance to think about it before they were moving again, in that same circular motion that felt really good but at the same time made him feel so vulnerable that he couldn't relax into the others grip. "Matthew, it's okay. Just relax."

"I-I can't, people are watching us…"

"Then close your eyes, and ignore them." Matt swallowed uncomfortably but did as told, trying to concentrate more on the music and the feel of Tobias behind him. And while at first it was hard to ignore the other people around them, it didn't take long for Matt to completely forget about them and everything else, just focus on the way Tobias moved them both. Though just as he was really getting into it someone stumbled into the two of them, startling them both and jolting him completely out of the little world Matt had been in.

"Sorry 'bout that." The obviously drunk man slurred before making his way through the rest of the crowd, leaving Matt to stare after him, bewildered. How do you get drunk before it's even nine o'clock? Matt jumped when he felt Tobias shift behind him, moving so he could see the brunette's face more clearly.

"Are you alright?"

"Uhh…. Yeah, I'm fine. He just surprised me is all." Matt responded with a small smile, "Uh… mind if we go sit down?"

Tobias gave him an odd look but nodded before asking, "I'm going to get something to drink, would you like something? Something non-alcoholic?"

Matt frowned at that last part, "Just a glass of water is fine."

He got another nod from Tobias and the taller male disappeared through the crowd, leaving Matt to wander is own way back to the table that they had been sitting at. He was surprised to find Mallory sitting there; expecting the red head to still be out on the floor with some guy enjoying himself like he usually did whenever the group of them went out. Though, judging by the smirk he was currently getting from the other male, it seemed pretty clear that Mallory was fully enjoying himself.

"…What?" Matt asked as he sidled into the seat across from Mallory.

Mallory shrugged nonchalantly, but his widening grin completely set it off, "Oh… nothing. Just wondering if you to had a good time, from what I could see from here it sure seemed like it. You know, I think that's the most sexually charged dance I've ever seen you do, I'm a little surprised."

Matt's face burned but he glared back, "Is the only reason why you're still sitting here is to give me a hard time?"

"Yeah, pretty much." Mallory said with another shrug and a smirk before taking a sip of the brightly colored drink sitting in front of him. Matt rolled his eyes and looked back out to the dance floor, for the first time noticing Ayden and Brice dancing together, and together was definitely the word to use.

"O…kay… Didn't expect that." Matt mumbled, and Mallory glanced over to where he was looking. "Oh, that? Come on, you and Snowball were just as bad."

"No… We weren't dancing like that. And since when did those two get together?"

"Ooh… Trust me, Matt, you were dancing exactly like that. And how the hell have you not notice those two were a couple? Jeez, you are so ignorant sometimes."

Matt frowned and was about to say something else when Tobias took the seat beside him, setting a clear glass of ice water in front of the brunette as he did so. "Oh, thanks."

Tobias smiled, leaning over to lightly kiss Matt before taking his seat one again, "It's no problem." He turned towards where Mallory and Matt had been looking and raised an eyebrow, "Hm, those two look like they're enjoying themselves."

"That's a bit of an understatement." Matt mumbled, picking up his glass of water down to take a drink, noticing the smirk Tobias sent him as he turned back to face the table, but choosing to ignore it. It wasn't long until the song ended and a flushed Ayden slumped into one of the seats at the table, grabbing Matt's half full glass of water and gulping down a good portion of it before passing it Brice who did the same as he took a seat beside the blonde.

"Yeah, help yourselves guys." Matt muttered, as his now empty glass was set back in front of him, while the two offending males smiled back, looking none too upset at his tone.

"Sorry, dancing makes you thirsty." Ayden said with a shrug before leaning back and to the side so he was up against Brice. After he did this Mallory raised his eyebrows at Matt, seeming to say 'I told you so' before looking back at the newly discovered couple. Rolling his eyes at the redhead, Matt got up to replace his empty glass of water, returning to find the others chatting amiably, though with glances he was getting as he approached the table he had a feeling his 'friends' were telling Tobias all kinds of embarrassing facts about him.

Taking his seat beside Tobias once again, Matt glanced around the table, "So, what are you guys talking about?"

"Oh nothing much, just informing Snowball of your amazing singing talents." Mallory said with a grin and Matt cringed, knowing exactly what incident the redhead was referring to. Last year for his birthday they had all decided to stop by and surprise Matt, which is exactly what they did, except that at the time he had his headphones in and had a habit of singing, loudly, to the music. The fact that Mallory and Trent both had keys to his apartment in case of emergencies and Mallory was always a quick one to get his phone out for videos has made the incident something that the brunette would never let down.

"Please don't tell me you showed him?"

"Oh, we showed it to him as soon as you got five feet away." Brice said with a grin of his own, reaching across to grab Matt's water once again and taking a drink.

Matt glared at the thief and snatched that glass back before he could take another drink. "Oy! Get your own."

"Aw… You're so mean." Brice pouted, putting an arm around Ayden who was snickering silently at his side. Glancing around the table, Brice frowned, "Speaking of being mean, where's tall, dark, and bitchy?"

Matt looked around as well, guessing that the one Brice was referring to was Trent, he was the only one in the group that night that fit that description, but he didn't see him anywhere either. With a slight shrug, Matt responded, "The last time I saw him was before we all left to dance."

"Well, he was gone by the time I got back to the table." Mallory said with a shrug of his own, not looking too concerned that one of their group had disappeared.

"Maybe I should go look for him…" Matt mumbled, looking out towards the dance floor to try to spot the missing male, but Mallory frowned, "Why? He's not some kid that needs looking after. Anyways he was being a real grouch, maybe he got tired of being the only one in a sour mood and headed home?"

"Yeah, maybe…" Matt still looked uncertain, and Mallory sighed before standing up, "Fine, stay here, I'll go call him and see where he went."

"Thank you!" Matt called after Mallory's retreating back, getting a wave in response before the redhead disappeared downstairs, most likely to go outside so that the music wouldn't be too loud to talk on the phone. Only a few minutes later did Mallory return, shrugging as he took his seat again, "I don't know where he's at."

"So you didn't talk to him?" Brice asked, and Mallory shook his head, "No, I talked to him, but he just said he 'needed to get away' and then hung up. I didn't hear any music so I'm guessing he's not at the club but," Mallory shrugged again, "who knows."

Matt frowned, debating about trying to get a hold of Trent on his own or to leave him alone when Tobias squeezed his hand, leaning over to talk into Matt's ear, "I'm sure he's fine, and it doesn't seem like he wants to be bothered, so don't you think we should let him be?"

"I guess so…" Matt conceded, and Mallory clapped his hands together, looking once again happy and excited, "Excellent, so can we start having fun now?"

"What, you mean all this drama isn't exciting enough for you?" Brice asked with a smirk and Mallory snorted, "No, if I wanted drama then I'd stay home and watch soap operas. Now come on."

Matt sent Tobias a pleading look as Mallory got up and once again pulled him away from the table and toward the dance floor. Though instead of rescuing Matt from having to dance, Tobias grabbed him away from Mallory and directed Matt over to a different part of the dance floor. When Mallory gave him a pouting look Tobias smirked and said loud enough so the other male could hear him, "I said only one song, and then he's mine."

Mallory rolled his eyes and disappeared into the crowd, most likely to find a new dance partner while Tobias turned Matt around so they were facing each other. Matt frowned up at Tobias grinning face and said, "You know you two are starting to make me feel like a piece of meat with how you drag me around everywhere."

Tobias sent him a knowing look, "We drag you around because we both know if it was up to you, you would be sitting at the table watching everyone else have fun. Now would you like to try dancing again? It doesn't look like those surrounding us are quite as inebriated as the man from earlier, so we shouldn't be disrupted this time." Matt nodded slightly and stepped a little closer, jumping when Tobias grabbed his waist and pulled him much closer, so that their bodies were flushed together. He flashed Matt his usual smirk and then began to move them both to the pulsing music.

-------------------------------

It was several hours later that a grinning, and exhausted, Matt once again took his seat at the table. Him and the others had been dancing on and off for most of the night but now he needed a true break, before his feet fell off his body like they were currently threatening to do. Hearing a chuckle, Matt turned and looked across the table to see Brice sitting there with a beer in hand, smiling at him.

"What…?" Matt asked suspiciously, and Brice shrugged, still with that smile before saying, "It's just that I don't think I've ever seen you actually have fun at a club. Well, except for that one time Mallory spiked your drink."

Matt shuddered slightly, not that he could remember what actually happened that horrible night but the aftermath the next morning was enough to keep him watching his drinks for now. Let's just say waking up in a miniskirt and a tube top with a bunch a stranger's signatures all over your body with no clue how they got there definitely didn't make it a good morning.

"So where is the miracle worker?" Brice said, pulling Matt out of his reverie, "I've got to shake his hand or congratulate him some how for doing the impossible task of getting you to loosen up."

Matt frowned at the other male, but Brice either didn't notice or was ignoring him, instead he was looking around as if to locate the man in question.

"He said he was getting something to drink. And speaking of missing boyfriends, where's Ayden?" Matt asked, looking around but not seeing the missing blonde.

"He went downstairs to the restroom. Though," Brice frowned as he checked his watch, "it's been awhile, maybe I should go make sure he's okay."

When Brice started to stand Matt waved him down, "I'll go, I need to get out of here before Mallory drags me back out on to the floor."

Just as he was saying this the current song came to end and when the next started up accompanied with many cheers from the crowd. Matt's face paled, "Is that…?"

Brice nodded, "Jump On It. You'd better run."

Matt didn't even hesitate, quickly taking off for the stairs and not looking back until he was safely in the bottom part of club. Breathing a sigh of relief he looked around the lower part of the club, instantly glad Mallory had dragged them all upstairs, the downstairs was just… creepy, especially now that it was at full capacity. The top part of the club was playing songs that were popular, one's that were normally played at clubs, but the songs on the first floor were techno music, and the people down here weren't dancing as much as just having a massive orgy with clothes on. Which he knew there wasn't too much of a difference when it came to dancing, but this was just ridiculous. Squeezing his way through the mass of grinding bodies, Matt made his way over to where he assumed the bathrooms were, grateful when he finally emerged on the other side.

Spotting the restroom Matt started looking around for the missing blonde, though he didn't see him for several minutes and was just about ready to give up and look somewhere else when he saw a flash of blonde hair. Turning to get a better look, Matt saw Ayden trapped against the wall and looking extremely uncomfortable by a large male that was obviously attempting to hit on the poor blonde. Frowning, Matt started making his way over to the pair, knowing that while Ayden could be pretty forward with his friends, with strangers he always becomes shy and uncomfortable, which the lug head towering over him was most likely mistaking for attraction.

"Ayden!" Matt called when he got close enough, and both men jumped before looking at him, Ayden giving him a pleading look while the other watched him approach warily. "Brice was looking for you upstairs."

"O-oh, really? Thanks, Matt." Ayden attempted to duck out from under the other male's arms but guy stopped him, "Brice, who's that?"

"He's m-my…"

"He's his boyfriend." Matt finished for him, pulling the frightened blonde out of the guy's grip and pushing him toward the stairs, to which Ayden sent him grateful look before making his own way through the dance floor. Matt was just about to follow him when he felt a hand on his arm, pulling him back.

"Hey kid, you just lost me a date." The man slurred, and Matt pulled his head back at how close the other's face was to his, and at how much it reeked of beer.

"I just told you he has a boyfriend."

"Hn, what 'bout you?" Matt jumped when the man's free hand slid down his side to roughly grab his ass, causing Matt to attempt to free himself from the other's grip but not too much avail. So settling on the harshest glare he could, Matt ground out, "I'm taken too. Now back off."

"Yeah, but is he a real man?" The 'real' man asked, and Matt scoffed, trying once again to jerk away. "Look, dude, back the fuck off or-"

"Or? What d'ya think your gonna do?" The man leered at him, and just when Matt was about to answer someone else cut him off, "I don't know what he's going to do, but I'm more than willing to kick your ass."

Matt blinked and looked around, surprised when he saw Trent with a hand on the drunk man's shoulder, squeezing harshly by the look of pain on the other man's face. "Now let go of him."

The drunk did so immediately, holding up his hands to show that he wasn't touching Matt in anyway, and Trent sneered, "Now get the hell out of here."

They both watched as the man disappeared into the crowd, but instead of feeling relieved that the guy as gone, instead Matt was worried about being left alone with Trent, especially with how weird the man had been acting before. "Umm… Thanks."

"Don't thank me yet, I need to talk to you." Trent grabbed Matt's arm, though much more lightly then what the other male had gripped it, and directed him farther back into the club. Matt didn't resist much, but he got a sick feeling in his stomach as they made their way around the edge of the room. He didn't really want to talk in a middle of a club, especially not with how serious he had a feeling this conversation was going to be, but Trent seemed determined and wasn't one to give up easily. As they came up to the back corner of the club Matt saw that it was blocked off by railings with a bouncer at each opening. The railing ran parallel with the walls, situated so that the plush bench that ran along the sides along with the few tables comfortably sat on the other side of it, though it didn't intrude too much on the rest of the club. In fact not many were paying all that much attention to the cordoned off area, even with how out of place it looked compared to the harsh metals and sharp lines of the rest of the club. As they approached the special area Matt was expecting to be turned away, like the few others that were wanting in but instead the bouncer nodded to Trent and moved to the side, allowing the Trent to direct Matt to a spot further down the bench so they were actually sitting in the corner of the bar.

"What the heck was that about?" Matt asked, nodding toward the bouncer that had let them through. Trent glanced up at the man and shrugged, "I was talking to him earlier and he said he'd let me up here. This way we can actually here ourselves talk instead of yelling over the music."

Matt frowned when he realized the other was right, it was much quieter up here. Not silent in any way, but definitely not the blaring, pounding assault on the ears like it was closer to the dance floor. Turning back to the other male, Matt swallowed nervously when he saw that Trent was watching him with a strange expression on his face. "You know I can't stay long, Tobias-"

"Yes, I know, your boyfriend will get worried." Matt flinched at the way he said boyfriend, amazed at how much he could make the word sound like a curse. There was an odd silence before Trent suddenly sighed, and with a resigned look on his face asked, "What are you doing with him, Matt? We both know he's not your type."

Getting defensive, Matt asked in return, "My type? And what exactly is 'my type'?"

Trent frowned, "Not him. Not guys that regularly go to that damn spa. Jesus, Matt, you two had sex 5 minutes after you met. That's not you!"

"Will you stop it with that already?! Yes, we had sex, but I really don't see why it should concern you so much, so just let it go!" Matt exclaimed, but Trent wasn't going to give up on it that easily, "I'm you're friend, I'm worried that this guy isn't right for you. How do you know this isn't just a fling to him?"

Matt's eyes narrowed, "It's not just a fling. And if you're only worried because you're my friend, then why are none of the others? Everyone else seems to like Tobias; you're the only one with a problem with him. Or is it that you're more afraid that he is right for me?" Matt asked, and knew he had hit home when Trent looked away. "Dammit Trent! I don't know if you can recall it correctly or not, but you broke up with me, not the other way around. And I'm tired of you getting all protective of something that isn't yours. Not when you willing gave up on it."

Trent sighed and attempted to defend himself, "I didn't want to, I told you that it wa-"

"Was what? That you wanted to give me the option to date since we weren't living close? Bullshit." Matt leaned closer to Trent before saying in a low voice, "I know you were dating someone else while we were still together."

Trent looked shocked, "W-what? How did you-"

"It wasn't all that hard to figure out, especially since our mothers are best friends and talk to each other regularly. And when your dating someone new not one week after you called me up to break it up, things kind of clicked in place."

There was silence between them before Trent finally said, "…Why didn't you ever say anything?"

"Because I didn't want to make a big deal out of it! Yeah, it hurt to find out that the guy I loved wasn't being faithful, but I wasn't going to say anything because I didn't want to put any strain on out mothers' friendship just because you were an ass. Which you were by the way." Matt finished with a glare.

"But what about the past couple years? Why didn't you bring it up when I came back?"

Matt sighed in annoyance, "I already told you that I didn't want to make it a big deal! You came back saying you wanted to be friends, and by that time I had already came to terms that we were done. You're the only that doesn't seem to be getting the memo."

They were silent for a while after that, and Matt was beginning to think that what he said was starting to sink in when Trent finally spoke up, "I came back to get together with you again, not to be friends."

"And you're telling me this 2 years after you moved back in state? Why didn't you say anything earlier?"

"You were in a relationship at the time, I didn't want to mess it up." Trent explained in a low voice, and Matt scoffed, "'Mess it up?' Trent, you cheated on me. There was no messing up other relationships, because I had no interest in dating you."

"I didn't know that you knew about it though! You never said!" Trent suddenly exclaimed, and Matt groaned before running his hands through his hair, "I am not going to run around in circles with you on this!"

There was a slight pause before Trent asked, "Why didn't you tell Tobias?"

Matt looked at him confused, "Tell him what, that you cheated on me? What reference does that have?"

Trent shook his head, "No, that we dated. When he and I talked this morning he said you never mentioned that we had been going out."

"That's because I don't see you as an ex-boyfriend, Trent, I see you as my friend. Or at least I did."

"What does that mean?" Trent said slowly, and Matt took a deep breadth before saying, "It means that if you can't back off and let me live my life… then I don't know if I can be friends with you, not anymore."

There was silence from the other male before Trent said in a rough voice, "Matt… You don't mean that."

"I don’t? Why? Why wouldn't I want the one person that seems so bent on me being miserable to leave me alone? I'm sorry Trent, you're a good friend, but a shitty ex, and…" Matt shut his eyes before saying in a quiet voice, "I'm tired of having to deal with this."

"Deal with this? So now I'm just a problem for you to deal with? Fine. You know what, if you don't want to deal with it, neither do I. Goodbye, Matt." And with that Trent stood up and stormed away, his fury showing well enough that the crowd parted for him. Matt stared after him, feeling more and more like shit as he sat there. How could he say those things? Yeah, he was mad at Trent for how he had been acting lately, but to go that far? He hung his head and sighed, before he finally stood up and made his own way through the crowd toward the stairs. Matt paused once he reached them, debating on going up to face the others or to leave now, quietly, so he wouldn't have to deal with the questions. There was no doubt in his mind that someone would notice something was wrong, and Matt didn't think he could take the barrage of questions as they were sure to have. So with another sigh, Matt turned toward the entrance, stopping at the door to get his ID before walking out the door, hoping that Tobias wouldn't be too mad when Matt sent him a message to let him know he was no longer in the club.

Once outside, Matt headed for the main road, glad that this area of the city was known for its clubs and bars, so there were cabs available even at this late hour. Stepping off the curb, Matt waved down a cab, almost jumping out of his skin when an arm settled around his waist. Whipping his head around Matt looked up to see Tobias standing beside him watching the cab pull up to the curb with an unreadable expression on his face. As soon as it stopped Tobias stepped forward, holding open the door until Matt slid inside before getting in as well. After telling the cabby the address of Matt's apartment both men fell silent, Tobias still had that empty expression while Matt kept sneaking glances at him, wondering if he was mad about being ditched yet again. Good job Matt. Are there anymore relationships you'd like to destroy tonight? Matt though vehemently to himself, before looking out the window of the cab.

When they arrived at the apartment, Matt quickly paid the driver before exiting the cab, mumbling a quick goodbye to the other male as he made a hasty escape. Fishing out his keys, Matt made his way for the front door, quickly unlocking it and heading upstairs, not checking to see if Tobias had left or not. Why would he stay? It wasn't like the brunette had given him a good reason not to leave.

Matt whistled as he entered his apartment, frowning when Hades didn't come bounding out from where ever he had been sleeping like he usually did when ever Matt came home late. A quick glance told him that the dog wasn't in the living room, so Matt continued on to the bedroom, sighing tiredly when he spotted his dog. Hades was laying full out on his side in the middle of the crumpled mess that was Matt's neatly made bed, tail thumping slowly when he saw Matt in the doorway. Running a hand through his hair, Matt waved the dog of the bed, to which Hades thankfully complied without hesitation, before beginning to strip his bed of it's black fur covered sheets. All the while Matt's mind couldn't help but drift back the conversation with Trent, and how it could go down hill so quickly. And then there was how he treated to Tobias afterward, what was wrong with him tonight? Grumbling to himself, once Matt was finished stripping the bed he began undressing as well, wanting to be out of the too tight clothes and in bed as quickly as possible. He tossed the borrowed pants into the hamper along with the sheets, and was just beginning to tug the tank over his head when he turned blindly toward his dresser, running into something hard and tall, almost sending him to the floor if it wasn't for the pair of hand that had grabbed his waist and steadied him. Now freaking out, Matt struggled to free himself from the shirt, finally pulling over it his head to look wide eyed up at… Tobias.

"You know you almost scared the crap out of me." Matt mumbled, clutching his chest. His bare chest, he realized with a blush, looking down to see he was now only a pair of boxers and socks.

"Yes, well perhaps you should make sure your guests are truly gone before you start stripping?" Tobias answered with a slight smirk, which widened slightly when Matt's blush deepened.

"How did you get up here anyway? The downstairs door locks when it closes."

"Luckily I was able to catch it before it closed, though I must ask why you are so determined to leave me without even a goodbye." Tobias replied with a slight frown, and Matt looked away, feeling guilty.

"I said goodbye." Matt argued, but when didn't say anything in return, he sighed, "Sorry, I just didn't want to deal with the questions from the others and then I figured you'd be mad at me for ditching you again and well… I guess I just wasn't thinking straight."

"I'm not mad, Matthew." Tobias said softly, "Just upset that you would expect me to be angry when you're obviously troubled from having an argument with a friend."

Matt's eyes widened as he looked up at Tobias, "You knew? How…?"

"I came downstairs to see what was keeping you. I didn't want to interrupt your conversation but it seemed rather obvious that it wasn't pleasant."

"'Wasn't pleasant', that's a bit of an understatement." Matt muttered with a slight scoff, not noticing the way Tobias' eyebrows raised in question. Instead when Matt glanced up at the other male's face he just saw the slight smirk as Tobias leaned down a bit so they were eye level before saying in a low voice, "Unfortunately, with as interesting as the conversation is right now, especially with you currently… dressed as you are, I am finding it increasingly hard to keep my hands to myself, and the only way I'm going to be able keep from ravaging you on the spot is if you put on a few more layers clothes. So, before I lose my control, I'm going to go out to your living room and wait for you to join me. That is unless you'd rather end our conversation here?"

Matt flushed and shook his head, "N-no, I think we need to talk first."

With a quick nod, Tobias turned and walked out the hall leaving Matt to head for his dresser to quickly pull on a pair of loose jeans and a baggy sweater, cursing himself the whole time on how he could possibly forget he was standing there half naked, and not just forgetting once, but twice! But even as he berated himself he knew why, Tobias hadn't been checking him out, at least not while Matt was looking at him he hadn't. The whole time they were talking his eyes had never wavered from Matt's face, and though it was hard to get Trent's comment about how this might just be a fling to Tobias out of his head, Matt what sure that it wasn't. Or at least he truly hoped it wasn't. God, I hope not. Matt thought despairingly.

"Matthew? Your dog is doing circles in front of the door, is it alright if I take him out?" Matt heard Tobias call from the living room.

"Y-yeah, that's fine. Thanks." Matt replied back, letting out a shaky breadth before heading over to the linen closet to get out a set of fresh sheets to remake his bed with. It didn't take long to do, so since he had the spare time of waiting for the two to return, Matt grabbed the now full hamper and dragged it out to the kitchen where the washer and dryer were set up in the corner. He was just finishing with loading the washer when Tobias and Hades returned, the latter of the two making a beeline for the bedroom when Tobias let him off the lead, only to stop when Matt called after him in a warning voice. So instead Hades turned and made way for the large couch, while Tobias chuckled and shook his head before walking into the kitchen. "So, do you have to clean your sheets daily with him living with you?"

Matt smiled as he leaned back against the washer, "Yeah, I have five different bed sets just so I don't have to do several loads of wash a day, and even then I almost always go to bed with dog fur somewhere on the sheets."

Tobias chuckled lightly again before his expression turned somber, finally asking, "Do you want to talk about it?"

Matt didn't have to ask what 'it' was, he was pretty confident that Tobias was asking about his argument with Trent, but he just shrugged and mumbled, "No, not really."

"Do you need to talk about it?"

"I..." Matt sighed, "I don't know."

Folding his arms across his chest, Matt looked away, not glancing up when Tobias crossed the distance of the kitchen, though he was a little surprised when the other male wrapped his arms around Matt's shoulders and pulled him close so the brunette's head was resting against his chest.

They stayed like that for several minutes before Matt finally said, "I don't get you."

"Hm, I think we had this conversation before, didn't we?"

"Yeah, but still… I just don't understand how you can always be so calm and collected all the time. And then on top of that you're understanding, caring, funny, smart, and in pretty much everyway perfec-"

"Stop that. I am in no way perfect." Tobias said with a bit of a harsh tone to his voice, and Matt snorted, "Well you're closer to it than me. I still don’t know why you're interested in a basket case like me."

Tobias pulled away just enough to grab Matt's chin and bring it up so they could face each other, "I said stop it. I don't know what your conversation with Trent was about that it would make you so down on yourself but you are not crazy and I am no closer to perfection than you are, in fact I'm probably even further away."

Matt scoffed and pulled his head out of Tobias' grasp, "Says you."

But Tobias was having none of that, and this time instead of just using two fingers to grab Matt's chin he used his whole hand, making sure he wouldn't turn away again, "Yes, says me." Leaning down the rest of the way, Tobias brought their lips together for a soft yet demanding kiss, enjoying the way Matt relaxed in his arms before he pulled away so their faces were just inches apart. "Now, stop being emo."

Blinking in confusion, Matt frowned up at Tobias, "Did you just call me emo?"

Tobias smirked, "Yes, is there a problem with that?"

Matt's frown deepened, "I am not emo."

But the other male just raised an eyebrow in interest, "Really? Because how you were talking earlier, to me at least it seemed you were."

"Well, I'm not."

Leaning down once again, only this time moving so he speaking directly into Matt's ear, Tobias whispered, "Prove it."

Matt still had that frown on his face when Tobias straightened back up again, and he thought the brunette was going to continue to argue his case, so to say he was surprised when Matt suddenly reached up and pulled him back down into a kiss much more intense than the first would be an understatement. Though Tobias wasn't arguing, instead he moved his arms lower so they were encircling Matt's waist and he hummed his enjoyment when he felt Matt's hands entangled in his hair, pulling him farther down into the kiss.

When they finally parted both males were panting heavily, and Tobias couldn't hold back the smirk that formed from looking at Matt's flushed face and half lidded eyes. "Perhaps we should move this to the bedroom?"

Matt nodded quickly, and Tobias smirk widened as he parted himself from the brunette before grabbing Matt's hand and began pulling him down the hallway.
