~*STORY*~

A hundred pair of eyes from the crowded room were fixed on the slim and graceful figures that had just arrived on the dance floor. The blond girl was tall and beautiful, like a model from a fashion magazine. The boy on the other hand was smaller than the girl, and although more masculine and muscled was equally beautiful (for that was the only word to describe his type). He had slightly tousled raven black hair and eyes that were startling blue against the white porcelain mask that covered his face. They both wore authentic elven court dresses, and the viewers knew that only elves of high rank own those kind of attire.

The elven couple settled on one corner of the dance floor, laughing and whispering as they swayed to the music. A few young male elf hybrids were tempted to approach the couple, but a glaring look from their elder made them back away. Several females did approach them, but it was due to their familiarity with the blond elf that they were able to seek an introduction. They later departed with dreamy looks in their eyes, proclaiming the handsome boy charming, and wishing he was years older.

“Where did you learn to be such a ladies man, Thommy?” Savyn teased as they found an unoccupied booth with a small table in front. They were too tired to go up the stairs and back to the VIP room.

“from Jake. He forced me to practice on him. He said I'll never be a man if I don't learn how to flirt with girls.” Thom grimaced, remembering the humiliating ordeal Jake had made him suffer. He felt a little embarrassed when his sister laughed at his reply.

Sav motioned to a slave, who gave her two glasses of beverage. She gave one to Thom, keeping the remaining glass for herself. Thom took a sip, almost spilling some on his tunic when he tasted the bitter alcoholic flavor. He gave his sister a questioning look.

“It's fine by me. It's your first rave party after all. There is no such thing as a rave party without alcohol and tonight you can have as much as you want.” Savyn told him, giggling as she added,”In fact, I'm downright commanding you to drink!”

Thom beamed at his sister when he finished his glass, and Sav returned it with a huge smile of her own. They kept on drinking until several empty glasses were on the narrow table Thom now had a silly smile on his face while Sav was giggling uncontrollably and falling off her seat.

“I need to pee.” Sav told Thom point blank when she finished her 8th round. She got up unsteadily and stumbled on her way to look for the ladies room, not bothering to find out if Thom replied or not. Thom was left alone, playing with the alcohol on his glass as he waited for his sister to return.

“Can I join you?” Thom heard someone say followed by a giggle. The voice was tiny, high and female. He tried to look for the owner of the voice but couldn't find her.

“Over here!...Right shoulder!”

Thom looked over his right shoulder and found a fairy sitting and swinging her legs. Thom twisted his head a bit more so he could see the little creature. It finally took pity on him and flew a few inches away from his face, hovering. Thom inspected her. She looked all eyes as she watched him, intent on examining every pore on his face.

The fairy was suddenly buzzing around him, making little noises that Thom failed to understand. After a while she finally stopped flitting around and settled on his nose.

“Slim built, same height, small nose...You do look a lot like her,” She was muttering.

“Excuse me, but who are you?” Thom asked. He was getting quite dizzy trying to focus his eyes on the minute figure on his nose. The tiny winged female gave another giggle and curtseyed.

“I'm Jinx,” She said. She was staring intently at his drink. “Is that vodka?”

“...oh yes. Do you want it?” He teasingly offered.

Jinx gave him a dazzling smile and proceeded to drink. Surprisingly, she was able to finish the remaining liquid in Thom's glass.

Shortly, Nathan, Cinnead and Mel, with some other mystics came to their table. Samandiriel however, was not with them.

“There you are!” Someone from the group said loudly.

“Whoops!”Jinx exclaimed when she heard the voice, quickly taking off onto the direction of the dance floor. A harried looking dwarf with a long white beard gave a small apology to his companions and went to chase the mischievous creature.

“So you met Jinx huh?” Mel pulled a face, looking none too pleased. Thom gave him a worried look when he saw the frown..

“Don't mind him Thom. He's just jealous that Jinx spends so much time with Cinnead.” Nathan smirked.

“Oh? Why's that?” Thom asked, glancing at Cinnead. “Is she Cinnead's secretary or something?”

The men seemed amused at what he'd said.

“Jinx is a Council Elder. They work together.” Nathan corrected, still smiling.

“She's Mel's older sister...” Cinnead added.

“His EX FIANCE!” Mel glowered at Cinnead, who took a retreating step back.

“You know you're the only one for me, Mel.” Cinnead was saying, trying to placate Mel with words of devotion. The other male just grunted and crossed his arms, eyes still aiming daggers at his lover.

A brown haired elf came forward, scrutinizing Thom with his warm brown eyes. He had forgone wearing a mask, showing a tired but kind face. He was just a few inches taller than Thom, but of heavier built.

“Is this the youngster you were talking about, Nathan?” The elf asked.

“Yes Conrad. His name is Thom.” Nathan answered as Thom stood up. “Thom this is Elder Conrad of the Earth Council Affairs Committee, as well as our host for the night. He handles Mystic affairs in the Human Realm.”

The Elf bowed to Thom. Thom answered with a light nod of his head, not quite understanding why the guy bowed to him. 'This must be another old custom,' Thom thought.

Mel, Nathan and Cinnead gave each other meaningful glance.

“Shall we adjourn to the VIP Room? We need to finish our discussion before Cinnead leaves.” Elder Conrad said.

The others agreed and they turned to leave. Thom looked at there departing backs with a wistful smile and turned back to his seat. He was alone again and getting bored by the minute. He looked at the glass he had been drinking before that pixie elder showed up. It was empty. He sighed, wondering where his sister was. Hopefully, she will be back soon. He was getting sleepy.

Thom signaled for another drink.

A light shake of his shoulders awoken him. The first thing he saw were two red orbs staring intently on his face.

“Are you okay? Shall we go back to the room?”

It was Nathan and he was anxiously watching Thom. Thom blink at him twice and straightened his posture. Then he inspected his surroundings. The party was still at full blast. He groaned. He had fallen asleep while partyng. This was so embarrassing. He slumped on his seat again, taking off his mask and rubbed his gritty eyes.

“Where's Savyn? She was suppose to return...”

Nathan cringed when Savyn's name was mentioned. He gave a sigh and shook his head.

“She passed out inside the ladies room. Samandiriel's been taking care of her.”

Thom gave a sigh of his own. No wonder she never came back.

“Can you stand on your own?” Nathan was asking, his eyebrows lifting.

Thom was still sleepy and drunk. He shook his head to say no, wincing as he felt himself getting dizzy. Nathan put Thom's arms around his neck and help him to his feet. Thom started to walk, but the world kept on turning so he leaned on the booth and bowed his head, his hands covering his eyes.

“Had too much to drink?” Nathan teased, his eyes twinkling.

Thom took his hands from his eyes and glared at him.

“Obviously...” Thom tersely said and shut his eyes. The whirling sensation was getting worst.

After a few minutes with Nathan waiting patiently for him to recover, Thom tried to walk again. The same thing happened.

“Tsk, tsk... Just follow me, okay? Now put your arms around me and close your eyes so you wont get dizzy.” Nathan ordered. He was smiling at Thom. Thom had no clue about what Nathan wanted to do, but he complied.

Suddenly, Nathan lifted his legs off the ground. Thom tightened his arms around Nathan's neck, afraid he'd fall.

“Don't be so tense. You won't fall I promise.” Nathan swore. Then they were moving,

Thom hid his face on Nathan's overcoat. He was a little embarrassed being carried princess style, but it did have its moments. He could smell Nathan's manly scent.

“So long for not liking Nathan.” That little voice in his mind said.

Thom couldn't deny it anymore. He did like Nathan. Even his smell made Thom happy, so Thom didn't dispute what the little voice said.

Thom buried his face deeper on Nathan's neck and took a deep breath of that heavenly smell. He was smiling.
