Chapter 10

“So, D, Who beat you up?” Charle asked out of the blue hoping to trick him into answering her, knowing with his scatter-brain it would probably work.

“Well the cov- wait a minute…” D looked at her with a stern look on his face, “No!” He said loudly and went back to eating. Charle pouted for a second then ate a french-fry, disappointed that it didn’t work.

“How’s your brother?” D asked her and she gave him a funny look.

“What? Are you dating me to get to my brother?” She asked looking at him curiously. D tilted his head to the side slightly and grinned at her playfully.

“What? Were dating? We only went on one date!” He said and she pointed a french-fry at him.

“Techniquely this could be considered date number two, and if we aren’t dating why are you paying for the ‘pimp my ride’ treatment?” She asked raising an eyebrow, knowing that he was caught. He frowned and shook his head as she ate the French-fry.

“What?! This isn’t a second date! It sucks!!” D said freaking out slightly then he looked at her curiously again. “Pimp my ride? Your car just sucked.” He said shrugging. “And it isn’t a sucky car, so it shouldn’t look sucky.”

“Do you do that with every person who walks in and has a sucky car?” She asked flipping her hair over her shoulder.

“Only the hot ones.” He replied without thinking and she rolled her eyes as she finished eating.

“Then If we aren’t dating, and this isn’t a date. I’m sure you won’t mind If I leave now.” She said gathering her things as if she was about to get up and leave.

“I should probably get back to work anyway, I did say I was going to fix your car. “ D got up and left the McDonalds by the door on the left side. Charle figured that he would wait for her and she smiled mischievously, then
left by the right side door. She pulled her hair back in a ponytail as she saw D run around the corner.

“Aha! Caught you!” D said and Charle gave him a startled look. “I saw you through the window.” He said proudly and Charle rolled her eyes again.

“What, do you want a treat?” She asked treating him a bit like a dog. D perked at the sound of a treat and grinned.

“Yeah! What do you have?!” D asked enthusiastically and Charle was taken back for a moment, she defiantly wasn’t expecting the answer that she had gotten. In a moment of quick thinking she stepped forward and kissed him on the cheek.

“There, that’s your treat.” She walked past him a few steps then looked back. “Well? Are you coming?” D caught up to her and smiled.

“you know… we never did finish what we started last night…” he winked lewdly at her .”we should finish it right now.”

“In the middle of the sidewalk, in front of McDonalds?” Charle asked quirking an eyebrow at him. D shrugged at her.

“Why not, we’ve already done it in front of your brother!” D said enthusiastically, earning a few odd looks from the people around them, Charle rolled her eyes and walked a little faster so that she was slightly ahead of him. D grinned at her and grabbed her from behind, spinning her to him and kissing her. Charle was taken off guard for a moment before kissing him back. D broke the kiss first and looked at her.

“Now that wasn’t that hard was it?” D asked playfully and Charle smirked at him.

“Are you sure your not?” She asked and a few people in the crowd moved away from them. D grinned at her and took a step back from her running his hand through his hair once again. Charle looked at him and smirked lightly. “Well, I’m waiting for an answer.” D laughed at her and gave her a playful glare.

“I learned self control at a very young age.” D replied and Charle turned and started back towards the garage. D followed her toward the garage until Charle threw a look back at him.

“I’m not poisonous, you can walk beside me, you know.” She said softly. Smiling as she slowed her pace to match his. When D slowed his pace even more.

“Hey, I’m fine where I am! I’m just enjoying the view!” D said and grinned at her. “After all you got to look at mine!!” Charle smiled sweetly at him then turned around and began to walk backwards.

“The difference is, You threw me over your shoulder, I had nowhere else to look.” She replied and D began to laugh at her, she was puzzled until she bumped into something behind her, when she turned around she saw the manager of the Garage behind her. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” The Manager ignored her and looked at D.

“You. Work. NOW!” The manager and Charle shrank away from him toward D. D laughed and looked at the Manager.

“But I’m busy! I’m taking care of the customer!” D crossed his arms and pouted at him. “And you said that the customers come first.” He nodded sharply at the last word, the manager glared at him and D looked defeated at him. “Oooo-kay….” He walked back to the Garage dragging his feet as though he didn’t want to be there. When Charle got back to the Garage D turned to her happily.

“I forgot to ask you at the restaurant.” Charle snorted slightly at the use of restaurant for Mc Donald’s. “Look, I’m going to this party thing tonight. Why don’t you come too?” He said and Charle Smiled brightly and nodded.

“I’d love to D!” She said happily and a big goofy grin came across his face.

“Alright! I’ll pick you up around 7.” He turned to leave then turned around. “Oh! And dress casually, like jeans and a T-shirt!” He ran over to her and gave her a quick kiss and goodbye before disappearing into the back. She didn’t like the mischievous glint in his eyes when he told her to dress casually.
