Chapter 9- Hieas' Return Part 2: Aivon's Secret Attack!
The second part of a two-part fight scene. Guess I haven't much to say huh? Hopes this makes up for the lateness!
Chapter 9
Aivon stood ready to fight against Hieas. He turned to Midas again, seeing his fallen body, a reminder of what he was about to face. "So, your really going to fight me, after seeing firsthand what I can do?"
Hieas was taunting him, trying to bait him into an attack, but Aivon knew he had to keep his cool. He couldn't just blindly cast spells over and over again, it would be wasting his own energy. Yet he also knew there was a slim chance to victory by taking him on alone. He was seriously wishing that John was here, since he had managed to help defeat Hieas in the first place, though the finishing blow came from the very thing that lay beyond the Dark Gate.
"You bet I will. I'm not afraid of you." Hieas pulled out his axe and rushed toward Aivon. Pulling off his gloves, Aivon raised his hands as Hieas brought the axe down. A slight shockwave was sent out as Aivon caught the the blade in his hands, pushing back against him. Both pushed against each other, neither one letting up, until Aivon forced the blade down to the ground, and pushed away. His hands were unaffected thanks to his own demon protection.
Hieas forced his axe up with his right hand and swung it again, forcing Aivon to move away as the blade went in a large arc. He held the axe loosely, grabbing it with his other hand and pushing himself closer as the axe swung in a full circle. Aivon raised his hands again in defense, as the axe struck once more against him. Once again they pushed against each other before parting. Hieas didn't seem to be having any trouble dealing these blows, but Aivon certain couldn't keep blocking them.
Aivon placed his hands on the ground once more, concentrating. "Gaia Strike!" A large beam of energy shot out from the ground, near Hieas' feet. He pulled back, surprised, when another blast rose up, gazing against his back. Hieas struck the ground once more with his axe, sending a shockwave toward Aivon, but another blast from his spell met with it, canceling it out.
"I see you have obtained more control over your magic. The last time you cast this spell against me it was highly untrained and uncontrolable. Now however..." Hieas seemed to be regarding him for a moment, as he remembered nearly six years ago at the entrence ot the Dark Gate, the battle that insued between them. Of course, John was there too, and surprised Hieas when he struck with fire magic to conter his water magic. "You truely have grown strong it seems."
"Somehow, hearing that from you makes it seem less of a compliment."
Hieas smiled to this, before readying himself again. Aivon too readied, wondering about his next attack. I could use that against him... but it's power can drain me of all I have... still, at this rate, it's better then trying to fight with all my other spells. Seems he hasn't forgotten what I can do. During the time apart, Aivon trained constantly, whenever he had the chance. As a result, he had learned a powerful new spell, one that was sure to be his trumpt card, if it worked.
One problem with using this spell was that it required alot of energy to use. If it failed for whatever reason, he would be helpless to fight back against Hieas. It was a double-edged sword against him.
"Alright, no choice... secret weapon time!" Aivon placed both hands on the ground, and started to draw up energy, as if sucking it straight from the very earth itself. His hands started to glow a light golden color, as it spread throughout his body, waiting to be used. Dust began to pick up and surround him, not enough to block him from view, but enough to show Hieas that he would regret ever having to push this far.
Hieas however, didn't look alarmed. In fact, he almost looked bored. "I see... well, sorry to disappoint you, but it won't work..." Hieas too placed his own hands on the ground, and also seemed to be channeling his own energy. His own hands glowed a soft blue, yet their was a dark aura about them as well. Water appeared around him, flowing around in great circles.
The two stared each other down, each one gathering more and more strength. Suddenly the glowed surrounded their entire bodies. Each one forced all the energy out their bodies, as the earth and water rose up, each one taking the form of a dragon's head and snake-like body.
"Earth Dragon!"
"Water Dragon!"
"Attack!" both shouted at the same time, each element dragon striking at the other. Both struck each other, and a blast of energy shot out at their clash. Aivon raised his arms over himself, closing his eyes as the energy washed over him, knocking him down and off a few feet. Midas' own body flew into the air, landing hard on the ground. When the energy passed, the two dragons had canceled each other out as Aivon, who was lying facedown in the dirt, lifted his head up.
Where the ground near where the two dragons had collided, was only a small crater, simply because the two of them had struck in midair. Hieas had not been blasted back from the force of the impact, but was brought to one knee, panting as he struggled to catch his breath. "No..." Aivon said desperately. "It... it didn't work..."
Hieas managed to bring himself up to his feet, though not without some difficulty. "Impressive... To be able to summon an elemental dragon... I admit, I wasn't fully expecting you to pull it off." Hieas seemed to be speaking in a calm manner, as if forcing himself not to do something. "Still, it was a futile effort. All that hard work for nothing."
Aivon gripped his hands into fists, but considering his position, it didn't do much to help his situation. It was kicking him while he was down, though not in a literal sense. "Shame, I'm not here to kill you." Aivon looked up in surprise, Hieas was closer, yet still a good distance away. "But trust me, when we are finished, you will wish I ended your life right now."
With that, Hieas placed his hand on the ground, as a spell circle appeared, taking him away.
