Dead End

Long Ass Author's Note:
First of all girlfriend's are very distracting, that's why the story is so late.

Secondly, I happy to say that this story is done, finito, finished, etc.
Now you all are probably going to ask me, why is the chapter so long? Well, I'll tell you why. You see, I listen to my review and what they think. If a reviewer says I need to be more descriptive then I strive to be more descriptive. If a reviewer says they want to see more of a certain character I do that.

In short, the reason the chapter is so long, more that 26 pages on Word, is because of you people. Congrats.

Thirdly, I'm taking a mini-hiatus cause I'm in desperate need of refueling my creative cells. Don't be sad. I'll be back and ready with Second Time Around and a new dark story as well as one-shots and such.

Lastly I would like to thank my reviewers. There are too many to name.
Also big shout out to my Beta-Reader, Alex, whose probably pissed at me for not sending this to her first, that's why if you see any errors blame it on me but don't sen me a review about it. Me no care anymore. Though reviews are nice. -hint-

That's it ladies and gentlemen. Here's the last chapter of My Guardian Devil!

Late nights during the fall in Baton Rouge were normally warm but as one gas attendant noticed, tonight was just bitter. Normally, he wouldn’t take the graveyard shift but he was getting paid extra and he knew he would be safe in the little bullet-proof booth unless someone needed gas. After retrieving another beer from the mini-fridge next to him, he sat back on his stool and watched some late-night talk show. Suddenly the sound of engines brought him out of his TV watching. He peered out into the dark morning to see about twenty five motorcycles screaming down the road and before driving into the gas station. The apparent leader of the biker group, wearing a blood red helmet and leather jacket, revved his bike’s engine causing the gas station operator to groan. Now he would have to leave the warm sanctuary of the booth to fill the vehicles’ tanks.

He put on his heavy jacket and gloves and jogged outside to fill up the tanks. “Full,” was the gruff demand of the leader. His co-rider, a female dressed in the same wear and tight jeans, giggled at attendant. One by one, he filled up the bikes with his rapidly freezing hands. As soon as he put back the nozzle he ran back to the booth to get out of the cold, the red-head following him.

“You apart of Hell’s Angels or something,” he asked her as he settled himself onto the stool, rubbing his hands together.

“Something like that,” she giggled in a flirtatious voice. The lead biker climbed off his chopper and started walking towards the booth going for his wallet. “Oi, ‘ow much do I owe ya?”

“250 normally,” he looked up and stared at the still giggling red-head and smiled, “but I like you people and I hate my boss so, 160.” The man took out two one-hundred dollar bills and slid then under the small slit in the glass.

“Thanks sweetie,” the woman says as she puts back on her helmet as the man growled impatiently. He ducked down to get some change. “Here’s your change,” he said getting up but when he rose from his position the only thing he saw was a large beast hurtle through the glass.

My Guardian Devil
Chapter 10

8/2006 - 12/2007
Holy fuck it’s finally over!!!!!
-dances-
[=========================]

In a building somewhere in New Orleans sat a very young woman dressed in a red dress suit, looking over notes, in an anchor’s chair. She turned her attention from the papers to the camera a few feet in front of her.

“Good Morning New Orleans. I’m Jacqueline Rodriguez. Our top story, the owner of a Baton Rouge gas station came to a horrifying site as he came to the site and found one of his workers viciously mauled. We have Thomas Miller on the scene, Thomas?”

The screen changed from the newsroom to a young bald man wearing glasses and a gray suit standing yards away from the taped off gas stations. He pressed the ear receiver before begin his broadcast, his face betraying any emotion.

“Yes, Jacqueline. As you can see from the scene behind me police and animal control are still trying to piece together what happened around 12:30 a.m. to Daniel Mosley.” He points towards the broken booth where a CSI team was studying the scene. “It seems that a wild animal was able to break through the booth’s glass where Mosley was stationed and ripped out his throats and innards.” He suddenly put his finger on his ear and nodded several times before composing himself and staring into the camera. “Police are now declaring that this unfortunate incident was a freak animal attack at this time. Live from Baton Rouge, I’m Thomas Miller. Back to you Jacqueline.”

“Thank you Thomas,” she started as she glanced at the papers in front of her, “In other news President Bush, an alien….?”

Alex made a sour face at the television before clicking it off. “Why do I even bothering watching?” Dressed in cargo's and a blue long-sleeved shirt, she left the living room and climbed upstairs to Jodi’s room and tried to open the door quietly. Hearing the door creak open, Jodi drew the sheets over her head and groaned as her lover sat on the side of the bed and began viciously poking her in the ribs.

“Get up,” she commanded, opening the curtains filling the room with the morning light and ripping the sheets off the brunette who hissed and curled into a fetal position. “Don’t wanna.” Growling, Alex left the room and went into her room and grabbed a cup she left on the nightstand. She filled it up with freezing water from the bathroom before going back into Jodi’s room. Somehow in the time she had left the room Jodi had gotten the blanket from the floor close the curtains. Alex again ripped the blanket off the brunette then dumped the cup of water onto the sleeping woman. Jodi cried out sputtering water.
“Jesus! That’s cold.” Alex crossed her arms looking annoyed.

“Now then, get up. You have work.” She was about to leave the room when a pillow hits her in the back of the head. Alex grabbed her head, feigning an injury, making Jodi laugh.

“Fine. Wake up Leon as well or he’ll be late for his convention.” Both Leon and Monica were in New Orleans; Leon was here for a veterinarian convention and Monica was tagging along. Alex left the room and went downstairs as Jodi rolled off the now damp bed. Two seconds later she heard Leon wake up, “Jesus!” She left the room still in her night wear and walked downstairs chuckling at Leon who walking upstairs wringing his shirt out. By the time she reached the living room Alex was already seated on the couch cup of coffee in one hand, newspaper in the other and toast in her mouth. She looked up saw Jodi and mumbled through the bread, “Don’t you have to go to work? You don’t want to set a bad example to your students.”

“I have no idea what you just said,” she started while snatching the toast from her mouth before she sat down next to her. “But if it has to do with the fact that I’m not getting ready for work well it’s because I don’t have any today. Some juvenile delinquent set the Chemistry lab on fire. Burnt down a large portion of the school so it’ll be closed for a week...”

Scowling the blonde takes a sip of coffee. ”Lucky burnt school.”

“And I’ll be needing the car for the day,” Jodi’s voice was quiet though her request wasn’t quiet enough for Alex not to hear.

“If you have forgotten I work in Baton Rouge. I don’t want to use public transportation..,” the blonde replies firmly, putting the paper down to the side.

A little ticked off, Jodi got up and stabbed Alex’s chest with her finger. “Well I want to show Monica New Orleans!”

“Then you use public transportation!”

“Really smart Alex. I’m going to let a pregnant lady walk all through New Orleans!”

The two have a silent standoff until Alex sighed and put her hands up in defeat. “Fine....”

Jodi danced in happiness and started to climb upstairs. “But you owe me,” replied the blonde from the bottom of the stairs.

/One work day later/

Alex groaned and massaged her temples while at the bus stop waiting for the later bus and at the same time replaying the day’s patients.

‘My stomach hurts, my head hurts, I think I have pneumonia. My diagnosis: a swift kick in the asses for the hooligans.’

“Hey Doctor Martin,” called out, Susan a member of the ‘I ‘heart’ Dr. Martin Club.’ She moved over on the bench allowing the other blonde to sit down.

“Hey Susan,” the doctor replied tiredly, “So I see you don’t have a ride either. Don’t you live north of here?”

“Yea, I normally take the bus from my home in Aslen,” the buxom blonde said scooting over towards the doctor, trying not to act suspicious. But the doctor saw that she had moved closer, she even heard her heart rate increase as she got closer. The thing was she really didn’t care.

After moments of silent bliss for Susan and boredom for Alex the bus came arrived and the women got on and paid the fare. Alex sat in a single seat before turning to Susan who was seated behind her. “Well I would be a horrible employer if I didn’t make sure one of my workers didn’t make it home safe.”

“Are you trying to hit on me Doctor,” she asked in a faux innocent voice while trying to push her chest towards the vampire’s face. ‘Oi vey.’ The situation just made the other blonde chuckle as she turned around and began to doze off.

“If I did my girlfriend would have my throat.” The doctor’s crusher sighed and sat back into the seat watching the scenery whiz by in the window. It was when the bus turned onto Samuel’s Road when she heard the engine of a motorcycle come up fast and then speed by. Then another and another. Though the next one that came by didn’t go past the bus but drove along side it. Soon dozens of motorcycles were surrounding the bus.

“I think we’re being followed,” the human blonde said, fear etched in her voice. Awoken by Susan’s worry, Alex got up and looked outside and sure enough there were a number of motorcycles lines up next to the bus. She sucked her teeth and looked at the other side and saw even more motorcycles. On the back of one she saw the red hair of Tammy’s and cursed into the almost empty bus.

“Patty.” Alex dug into her pockets and pulled out her cell phone and walked over to Susan when the bus lurched. She grabbed one of the poles to steady herself while Susan screamed. The vampire looked up and saw a biker in the window holding onto the bus, snarling at both blondes. Without another warning, Alex ran up to the window and slammed her closed fist through it, clocking the guy in the jaw and causing him to fly off the bus.

“Oh my god,” the blonde cried out looking at Alex’s bloody hand. Ignoring her co-workers concern she ran up to the bus driver, an old man, who was clearly afraid after seeing what had just happen.

“I don’t want any trouble,” he stuttered, watching the bikers out in front come closer to the bike. The doctor ran back to the frighten Susan who herself pressed against the other side of the bus and gave her a cell phone.

“Listen to me very closely Susan if you want to get past tonight. I am going to give you my cell phone. You need to look in it and find Jodi’s cell phone number. Tell her that Patty is here and I’m going to lead them towards Profit Island. And, for the love of your god, do not call the cops.” Alex started to climb out the window when Susan grabbed her pants leg, worry on her face.

“But Alex,” fearing for what her employer was going to do. Alex just smiled back,
“I’ll be fine. Just get off the bus and into a crowded place and call Jodi.” She climbed out the window and onto the roof of the bus before running off and jumping onto the pavement. Many of the bikes stopped and there riders turned to see the blonde on the ground. She straightened herself and looked at the stopped bikers. One biker drove his motorcycle up to her and stopped a few feet from her. She was not surprised to see Patty’s smirking face when he took off his helmet.

“What are you doing in Louisiana, Patty,” she asked with a hint of annoyance in her voice. At the pet name his face seemed to turn red while the other werewolves chuckled.

“IT’S PATRICK,” he roared back at her. His anger quieted the other riders. Anyway, I’m here for a little vengeance.”

“For what happened at the reception? Don’t you think that’s a little juvenile?”

“No you bitch I mean for ever thing,” he said climbing off the chopper and advanced closer to the vampire, “The turf fights, ripping my arms out, running me out of Louisiana.”

“And pray tell what are you going to do that?” The two were now only centimeters away from each other but the tension was electric.

“Destroy you, of course,” the Irish werewolf stated as he brought his fist back ready to punch Alex. Instead he let out a choked sound and looked down to see the doctor’s fist against his stomach. With a smile on her face she leaned over to his ear and whispered,

“That is if you can catch me first.”

She stepped back from the double over man, spun her body around and delivered a roundhouse kick to his head before dashing of the road to the left and in the direction of Profit Island. She could here Patty howls of anger behind her making her run even faster into the wooded area. She didn’t run a straight line but a jagged one to keep Patrick and his goons off of her until she could figure out what to do. With her speed it didn’t take her long to make it to the Mississippi, the large river separating the island with mainland. The blonde took a few steps back and prepared to jump, or at least attempt to jump, the river when she heard a chorus of snarls and growls. She took one look back and saw Patrick and the werewolves forming a semicircle around her. “You can’t escape Martin.”

“Whoever said I was going back,” she said turning back to the island focusing her attention on the island. Before Patty could even run after the blonde, she was off running towards the edge and right before the landed ended under her feet she jumped. Soaring above the murky water she prayed that she could clear the water and hit the trees. Unfortunately, Fate decided to be a bitch today and she ended up landing in the water a few feet from shore. Cursing, she swam against the current of the Mississippi until she was able to pull her self out of the water. “There goes another white coat…” she shrugged off the soaked white coat, and squeezed the water out of her pants and shirt and looked back to other side of the shore. It seemed that Patrick tried to imitate the same action but instead they fail miserably. They didn’t even make it halfway across the river. Laughing to herself, she fled into to the trees. Minutes later Patrick, Tammy and his pack climbed onto the island.

“Goddamn bitch. Why’d we have to try and jump it,” whined Tammy brushing her wet hair out of her face. Patrick gave a stern look that translated into “Be quiet.”

“All right men, that son of a bitch is on the island. Split up and find her while I contact our associates.” The werewolves growled and dashed into the woods.

Alex was resting in a tree, waiting for her brother and the rest of the vampires to come when she heard a noise from below. Looking down she saw one of Patty’s biker buddies on all fours sniffing the ground no doubt searching for her. She slowly hopped down to a lower branch careful not to make a sound as the wolf kept searching for her. Hugging the branch with her legs she hung upside down from the tree, right above her prey and whistled. The sensitive sound caused the biker to look up at the falling vampire. The attack was swift and quick. She dropped onto the wolf her fangs attacking his neck while her other hand took his head and jerked it hard until she heard his neck snap. She quickly detached herself from her victim then nudged the body confirming the kill. Looking at the dead body it gave the vampire an evil idea. She grabbed the dead body and jumped into the tree and hid it before she went to another tree.

“Where is that little blood sucker,” Patrick ranted hacking down brush after brush. Tammy was right behind him sniffing the air. “Yeah, it’s like she disappeared from the island.”

The two made to a clearing when Tammy collapsed onto the remains of a tree. “Baby, can’t we rest for a second?” He grumbled and turned back to his mate. “Fine. I need to see what the others have discovered anyway.” He walked into the center of the clearing and howled telling his pack to meet. Not even five minutes after ten men in leather jackets appeared by his side. When Patty did a head count he almost had to a double take. “We’re missing men.” The scouts looked at each other warily when Tammy’s scream brought them out of their morbid thoughts. They all looked up to see a body falling at an alarming rate. Patty dodged the body as it hit his previous position hard. He turned the body over and saw his pack mate’s glazed eyes and his ripped out throat. The alpha male looked up and then took cover under the trees as more bodies fell from the sky. As the last body came down with a sickening crash it wasn’t until he saw that there were fifteen bodies in total, throats ripped out. In the little time they had been on the island the blonde vampire was able to cut their numbers by more than half. He growled menacingly into the woods that surrounded the twelve survivors.

“What’s wrong little doggie,” called Alex from the trees mockingly, ‘Fraid of the night?” The pack surrounded Patrick and Tammy protectively in case the vampire attacked.

“Come out Martin! Show yourself!”

“Up here doggie,” Alex called out from a high branch. Her mouth was bloody and her eyes gleamed in delight when she saw the werewolves’ bodies tense up. Patrick looked up and growled but found himself looking at the tree’s branch. A whistle made him look at the stump Tammy was sitting on and saw Alex comfortably seated.

“Man it must suck for you guys not having the moon out,” she said rocking back and forth on the stump.

“Just because we don’t have the moon doesn’t mean we can’t fight,” he said with a smirk, “Besides we’re not alone.” He snapped his finger and a shot went off. Alex rolled herself off the ex-tree just as something hit the wood. The projectile looked like a hybrid between a syringe and a dart. Inside of it was a greenish-white liquid. When she looked up she saw that somehow Patrick’s numbers had tripled. The newcomers all wore brown cloaks and black cowboy hats almost looking like Americanized Van Helsings.

“And you are,” she asked the newcomers dusting herself off. One of them wearing a gray cowboy hat stepped forward, his face covered in a bandana. “We are the Hunters, your destroyers.”

Raising an eyebrow, she stared at the man scratching her head, “Very original. Well since I cannot see you, is it too much to ask for a name? I like to know the name of my potential killer.”

“Joe.”

“Well Joe may I ask why are you going to kill me. I’ve never seen you in my life.”

“You killed my mentor.”

“You’re going to have to be a little more specific.”

“Bruno.” Hearing her former enemy’s name made her smile and laugh causing Joe to growl in anger.

“Oh the large splatter in the warehouse floor.”

“He will have his revenge.” He said pulling off his bandana and pulling out a dart gun and aiming at Alex’s stomach.

“Wow, guns. Not like see them all the time.”

“True but the bullets contain something that will hurt you more than me....” A shot rang out before Alex could even move. She looked down at her arm and saw a syringe sticking out of her arm. She plucked it out of her arm and looked at the so called Hunters with a peeved look but just as the vampire was about to say something, a tingling sensation went through her arm. The tingling turned into a burning and she suddenly felt nausea, weak and like someone had just shot her arm off.

“What the hell,” she said looking down at the syringe and then at the happy faces of the group who started advancing on the lone vampire.

“Like it? While were coming over we met these guys and learned that they created this nifty little bullet filled with holy water blessed by the Pope himself,” Patrick held up one of the syringes, “And a bit of relics from dead holy people. And since you’re unholy, well, it destroys you. Well that’s their theory anyway.”

Growling the blonde began to move backwards looking at the number of people who had guns. She did not like what those syringes held and didn’t feel like take another one. When her back hit an oak tree Patrick laughed at the situation, “Now hunter had become prey,” not noticing that Alex was pulling the tree out of the ground as quietly as she could. “And the time comes we will cut off your head and mount it as a trophy,” concluded Joe.

“But you forget one important thing. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch,” the vampire exclaimed throwing the oak up into the air. The vampire hunters and werewolves had there eyes on the flying tree as it flew up fifty feat up and then back down into the blonde’s arms. She then hurled the large tree like a javelin at the group causing them to scatter. The one who didn’t move out of the way in time were crush beneath the oak. Alex ran over the tree and into the forest behind her she could here Patrick and Joe command their respected groups.

‘This is not good,’ she thought to herself passing a tree and hearing syringes hit the wood. She jumped into a tree and peered down at her pursuers, a group of three Hunters. She should have run she should have waited until her brother and the rest of the clan arrived but that would be she would have to wait and the time for waiting was over. No one threatens the leader of a vampire clan and gets away scotch free.

Especially if the leader was Alexandria Martin. So she did what any vampire would do: she pounced.

The blonde dropped onto the forest floor, landing in the center of the small group and struck before the men had time to aim their weapons. She punched one of the men’s kneecaps shattering it making him fall to the ground, upper cutting the next one, breaking his neck and spine. She sunk her fangs into the last one and ripped out his throat. Dropping the man’s body she turned to the howling man.

“Please have mercy,” he pleaded as she brought him up to her eyelevel. Instead she plunged her hand into the man’s chest and whispered, “Rest in peace,” before ripping out his steal beating heart. She stared at it as it pulsed in her bloody hand and was about to take a bite when she heard three more shots sound. She moved the dead man’s body to the right and it jerked three times.

In retaliation she threw both the man’s body and her meal in the direction where the shots came and ran in the opposite direction. She smiled to herself hearing his comrades scream at the grisly discovery. She soon found herself in a clearing but did not find herself alone. On the other side of the clearing Tammy stood grinning.

“Poor little vampire. Why don’t you give up,” the red-head said airily, “You’re surrounded and outnumbered.” Five other werewolves climbed out of the forest all wanting a piece of the vampire. Alex just laughed at the group and with her hand beckoned them to attack. Instead of attacking as a group, one of them stepped forward got on all fours and started circling the blonde while Alex just closed her eyes and listened to his movements.

Once he was behind her, he pounced. Alex waited until she felt his claws graze her neck before she turned, grabbed his head and bashed it into the ground several times. While she was busy plowing the man’s head into the ground another werewolf ran body to the ground and attacked his fist grazing her arm. Ticked off that one of them almost got a hit, she dropped the dead corpse punched her new victim with so much force his head spun 180 degrees before his dead corpse fell to the ground. Seeing their two comrades killed with such ease, the remaining two men fled into the forest, tails between their legs.

“Get back here! Don’t leave me with her,” Tammy screamed watching the men disappear into the foliage. She turned back around and saw that the vampire was missing from the scene but after sniffing the sir there was no doubt she was still in the area. The question was where exactly was she. Instead of staying to find out Tammy decided to run from the clearing. She turned on her heel and started running but instead of running into the trees she ran into a very hard object. She didn’t have to guess who it was as Alex grabbed her by the throat dragged her to a tree and slammed her against the wood. “Poor little werewolf. It sucks for that the clouds are hiding the moon,” she said mockingly.

“Hopefully you know that you die now.” Those words caused Tammy to cry. The blonde hissed and Tammy’s cries became quiet sobs. “You’ve been a thorn in my side for too long. Every time I see your face,” her hand covered Tammy’s neck and started to squeeze, cutting off her air, “I get so angry.” The blonde smiled cruelly seeing the smaller woman flail her arms wildly, her lips and face turning blue. The werewolf clawed at Alex’s arms but all it did was infuriate the vampire more and she increased the pressure on her neck.

“You know what, I was planning to drain you but this method is much better,” she said squeezing harder. “There’s no mess, you can’t alert anyone and after your dead I can finally eat something. So Tammy it was nice knowing you.” Tammy’s struggles to get free died down until she stopped, moving her eyes had already rolled into her skull but she still wasn’t dead. Alex removed one her hands and plunged it into the red-head’s chest and pulled out her still beating heart. It was warm and surprisingly small but most important of all it was food. She ripped it out of the werewolf’s body, which immediately started to spasm before going limp and let go the still corpse before walking into the trees biting into her meal. She sighed as blood ran down her throat quenching her thirst.

The blonde walked, still eating Tammy’s heart, for sometime not being jumped by the werewolves or the Hunters when she heard a loud mournful howl. That howl could only belong to one person, Patrick, and that meant that he found Tammy’s body and that Alex’s situation was direr. She threw away her meal and ran faster hoping to put distance between her and the mob on her tail, hoping over puddles and small lakes that were forming on the island. Moments later she stopped a few feet from the small stream that ran through a small part of island. She took a few steps back began to run towards the edge but rolled to the side when she heard a howl from behind her.

The blonde turned hoping to see just another of Patrick’s lackey’s but when she faced the newcomer she saw the bottom of his boot before it crashed into her face. The force of the blow sent her skidding on her back. Shaking the stars from her view the vampire got to her feet just in time to dodge a punch from Patty. She moved back more before Patty started aiming his punches for her head. She deflected his fists before sending one into his gut. He grunted and staggered back holding his stomach. Alex sprinted towards him and landed a hard right hook to his face, hard enough to send him flying into the air and land several yards away. The bald man got up his shoulders slouched over and upon closer examination there were tears coming from his eyes.

“You’re going to pay, vampire,” he screamed hysterically rushing towards her. Alex just shook her head. “You knew this was going to happen Patrick,” she yelled back, side stepping his rush, “I warned you. And now look Tammy’s dead.”

He roared again and tried pouncing on the blonde but she moved to the right as his body flew past her. She then grabbed onto his ankle and started to spin as if she was a competitor in the Olympic hammer throw. After five revolutions she let go of the man’s ankle and sent him flying into a tree, now sporting a dent as he fell to the ground. She was about to go and finish Patrick off when a whistling sound from above caught her attention. Looking up Alex suddenly felt as if she was in the movie 300, staring at the dozens of flying syringes that started their descent towards her. But instead of doing what Leonidas did she ran and leaped into the small stream and swam for the bottom. Her spur-of-the-moment tactic to work as the syringes harmlessly hit the water and slowly went to the bottom. She swam to the other side and got out of the murky water and climbed up the embankment before collapsing the dirt.

“Where do you think you’re going,” said a voice behind her causing to roll to her knees and face the orator. Joe stood there smugly surrounded by three of his followers who held what seemed to be military tasers. That’s when she realized the severity of her situation. As we all know water and electricity do not mix well. Alex soon figured out that fact when six barbs attached to her shirt and the volts of electricity shocked her into unconsciousness.

When the vampire came to she found herself arms chained to a tree with her pursuers gathered around her. It seemed like their numbers had doubled even though the blonde was sure she had killed two-thirds of their numbers. Patrick was gritting his teeth most likely trying to restrain himself from tearing Alex limb from limb. In front of him an axe laid in the dirt.

“Nice of you to join us vampire,” said Joe as he stood next to the alpha werewolf. His eyes followed Alex’s which were trained on the axe. He chuckled, “Oh don’t worry about that yet. We want to have some fun before we kill you.”

She let out a relieved sigh and giggled. “Finally you guys decided to have fun. I mean I love killing whoever you send at me but after awhile you kinda get bored.”

And once again her stomach got acquainted with Patrick’s fist, causing her to hunch over and cough violently. “Silence, you whore,” the bald man said venomously. Her coughs soon became laughs as she raised her head to look at him. “Two things: One, last time I remembered Tammy held that position. Two: didn’t your mother teach you any manners?!” She annunciated the last word by kicking Patrick hard in the chest sending him, once again, skidding away from her. He quickly got up from the ground and started to dash towards her but two of his own men grabbed onto him and pulled him back.

“Now, now Alex,” the lead Hunter said calmly, his back to her, “Let’s all try to be civilized.” The tied blonde just scoffed in response.

“Says the people who tie me to a tree.”

“It’s just until your brother and company come. Then we’ll kill you all,” he stated in a menacing tone. He turned and saw the woman sleeping, snoring loudly. Two seconds after his speech the blonde stopped her fake snoring and looked at the cloaked man.

“I’m sorry,” she apologized, “I fall asleep when I hear bullshit. In fact…” Before there eyes she free herself breaking the heavy-duty chains as if they were butter. “You all will be dead before they even get here.” She started for Joe and the group who began to move back but then fell to her knees gritting her teeth, her stomach doing flip flops and back flips and she slowly put her hand behind her groping for the syringe in her back. Three more hit her in her arm and she grabbed at the earth feeling the pain increase tenfold. Another hit to the back and Alex fell on her side writhing in pain. She made the mistake of rolling onto her back which caused the needles in her back to travel deeper into her skin, causing more pain agony. Panting heavily, she looked up and saw Patrick holding the axe in his hands a look of triumph on his face. “Any last words bitch?”

“Yeah if you think beheading me’s going to get you control of New Orleans excuse me as I laugh. That’ll be just as effective as throwing gasoline on a fire.” She chuckled as the alpha male looked at her suspiciously, but the human called to him, “Don’t listen to her she lies! Kill her!”

“What are you waiting for,” Alex croaked at the werewolf, “Finish the job. Do something ‘right’ for once.” Growling at his enemy’s words, Patrick raised the axe high in the air. “Au revoir Alex,” he said triumphantly and brought it down, severing the blonde’s head from her body as it jerked before becoming still. Cheers and howls erupted from the group as Patrick picked up the severed head and showed it to the group but he and Joe both knew that they were only half way out of the fire.

/Hours before/

Alex was late. Normally when she seldom used public transportation the doctor arrived home about thirty minutes later and she wasn’t on duty at the hospital. Jodi was pacing in the living room. Leon and Monica were on one of the couches watching the brunette pace back and forth and Pepper and Sage were busy be reacquainted with one another in his bedroom, “She’s not home yet.”

“Maybe the bus got stuck in traffic. You know this is around rush hour when everyone is trying to get home,” explained Monica trying to ease some of her tension. Jodi stopped pacing and sat on the couch. Leon left for the kitchen and came back with a steaming cup of blood and gave it to her.

“That probably the case,” she took the mug and stared at the thick liquid, “But something’s just not right.” A ring from her cell phone brought her out of her thoughts. She pulled it out of her pocket and answered.

“Alex?”

“Is this Jodi,” asked a person that was obviously not Alex. Jodi jumped to her feet.

“Yes,” she answered wondering if this was a prank played by Alex so she just played along.

“Please you have to come quick,” the woman over the phone sobbed. By now the brunette knew that this was no prank, “Alex is being chased!”

“Alex? Where is she? Who are you!?!”

“She just told me to tell you that Patty is here and she was leading them towards Profit Island.” Before she could ask any more information the signal from her phone faded.

“Shit. Shit. Shit!” Jodi was officially worried. She ran upstairs and busted into Sage’s room, startling the naked couple in the bed. The dirty blonde reached for his underwear at the end of the bed as Pepper dove under the sheets.
“Do you mind,” he asked annoyed yanking on his boxers.

“Alex is in some serious trouble.” Sage noticed the no nonsense tone and fear in Jodi’s voice.

“How serious?”

“Some woman told me Patty’s in Baton Rouge chasing Alex.”

He cursed and rushed out of the room, the brunette following him. By the time Jodi went downstairs had already told Leon and Monica the news. He angrily sat down on the couch. “Tobias!”

The windows flew open and a man appearing in his early thirties and dressed in black walked into the living room. “Yes Master Martin?”

“Contact the any male clan member in Baton Rouge. Tell them that Alex is at Profit Island and needs help.”

“Of course. He walked out if the window and disappeared into the night. Without a word Leon, Jodi and Sage walked out the door and towards her car. Monica and Pepper followed closely behind. It wasn’t until Sage crossed the car to sit in the passenger seat did he see the following women.

“Where do you think you two are going,” he asked the two females.

“With you,” responded the women.

“No,” both men said as they climbed into the car.

Pepper went over to the passenger side opened the door and pulled him out of the car. “I’m your girlfriend and there is no way I’m letting you go off to get hurt.”

“But…”

“Don’t worry. I’m prepared,” she pulled out two mall guns, “Heckler & Koch MP5 with silver bullets. Bring them everywhere I go.”

“How the hell do I not detect those things?”

“Don’t ask.”

“You on the other hand,” Leon said getting out of and walking to Monica, “Are not going.”

“I would never forgive myself if I saw you hurt and besides, the baby will be fine.”

“What baby,” Sage asked the two. All Leon could do was blush when the elder vampire pointed at him and then at his wife and said, “Man...you don’t waste time now do you?”

“Are you people done?” Jodi looked at the happy couples with a bit a jealousy. The four climbed into the car and it sped off. It was even a miracle the brunette could focus on the road and travel under the speed limit. All she though about was Alex; where she was, is she was ok, heck, even if she was even alive.

‘No! Don’t think like that. This is Alex we’re talking about. She’s probably fine.’

Keyword: ‘Probably’

‘Hey! Who are you anyway?’

Think of me as your demonic conscious. We both know that she’s powerful but how powerful is she really?

‘Powerful enough.’

Or so you think.

“STOP THE CAR!!!” While speaking with the newcomer in her head she failed to notice that the car was traveling at 100 miles per hour towards the Mississippi River. Once she realized what was happening she slammed the brakes before the car flew off the embankment into the river. It stopped several inches from the edge. The group gout out of the car and slowly climbed down the embankment where Tobias was waiting with a boat. On the boat were 10 other vampires, some Jodi knew and some were unknown. Once everyone was aboard Tobias steered onto the river and ten minutes later the group was on the island.

All eyes were on Jodi as she scanned the surrounding area which revealed nothing but a pungent odor, the same odor that she smelled back at Nashville when she first met the werewolves.

“Everyone spread out and search,” she warned, “Find anything or anyone whistle. Don’t play the hero. We don’t know how many people we are going against.” There were grunts of approval before the group quickly separated, some heading deeper into the island while Jodi, Sage, Pepper, Monica, and Leon scouted the coastline. Maneuvering in the muck was hard. She was about to go down the slope and check the water when she heard a shrill whistle. She ran to the source of the sound and saw Sage sour faced and another vampire standing close to him with his hand behind his back.

“What,” she asked, not liking the silence they were giving her, “What did you find?”
The vampire moved his hand forward reveal a clump of white cloth and gave it to Jodi. When she let it hang from her hands she saw that it was a lab coat, covered in mud and dirt with a big tear in the back. She immediately brought it to her nose and sniffed praying silently but when she smelled Alex’s musky scent, her knees buckled and fell onto the dirt, tears streaming down from her face.

“Relax Jodi,” the dirty blonde comforted, placing an arm on the distressed woman’s shoulder, “Everything is probably-” Instead of letting him finish, she growled and shrugged his hand off. The brunette got to her feet and dropped the coat.

“Don’t finish that sentence Sage,” she said, her voice wracked with emotion, “If you want use of your reproductive organs you will NOT finish that sentence!” Jodi turned to the trees and ran with Sage on her heels. Running by she noticed a number of fallen bodies. When the two stopped in a clearing they spotted a body off to the side. They walked over to it, turned it over and gasped when they saw Tammy lifelessly stare at them, her chest open to the world.

Before the two could call the others several people entered the clearing and soon surrounding the vampires in the center. No doubt the people in the leather jackets were werewolves but neither knew who or what the people in the cloaks were. Out of the group moved two people, Patrick, who looked like he went a few rounds with a tree and was held something out of view and a man in a cloak and gray cowboy hat.

“Well, well, well. I see that Alex’s worthless brother,” Patrick said smugly walking towards the two whose eyes turned bright blue and hissed back at the bald man, “and bitch have finally decided to come. Sadly a little too late.”

“LIAR,” screamed the brunette as she dove for the alpha male. Instead he just jumped backwards onto a tree branch. He scoffed and took out something from his jacket. She looked up into the branch and her whole stomach flew up into her throat. In his hand was the severed head of the blonde vampire, blood still dripping from the wound.

“No,” was all she whispered as she fell to her knees staring at Patrick’s triumphant smile. Taking advantage of their shock the alpha male snapped his fingers and the several werewolves rushed towards the two. About five of them dog piled the stunned brunette and begin punching her. The movement caused Sage to snap out of his daze and her darted forward to aid Jodi when one of them pulled on his arm forcing him backwards. He spun on his heel and sent his fist into the person’s face sending him flying into another group of attackers before turning back to the inhuman dog pile but something was amiss. No one in the pile was moving. He backed away when it started to move as Jodi removed herself from the pile of death, arms and face bruised. Before Sage could get to the brunette she launched herself at the tree Patty was standing in but he fell to the ground and started running deeper into the island, Jodi not far behind.

Sage started after the emotionally unstable woman only to be knocked down by a werewolf as he reached the trees. The dirty blonde got to his feet and delivered a swift kick to the man’s head, his heel shattering his skull and killing him. He heard more growls behind him and he turned to see that somehow more of Patrick’s clan and Joe’s followers popped up. He would need to deal with these people before he could go after Jodi. Just as he made his decision to fight, he heard two loud bangs and two painful screams. Two werewolves went down as the rest of the group scattered and took cover behind the trees. A couple more shots sounded and three more people fell. Whoever this person was he was obviously allied with Sage so he didn’t feel in danger when he moved into the center of the field. That was until a bullet grazed his face. Someone gasped as he clutched his wounded, yet rapidly healing, cheek. “Damnit Sage,” cursed Pepper as she came out of her hiding spot and ran to her boyfriend, “I thought that you weren’t going to play hero.” Sage moved his hand only to see that the cut had already healed itself.

“Patrick cut off Alex’s head.” Pepper’s hand immediately went to her mouth in shock. “Sage! I’m so DUCK!” The man crouched down as the red-head let loose a couple rounds at some people who tried to launch a sneak attack on them. “Half of them are human other half are overgrown doggies,” he informed Pepper as she reloaded both her guns. “Yay,” she said sarcastically, “I get to play dog hunter.”

“And I get the blood bags, no offense.”

“None taken.” The couple split up and soon human and werewolf bodies littered the ground. Though it looked like the two were making process it seemed like for every human Sage killed, three took its place and whatever they were using in their guns was as annoying as mosquito bites but much more painful. He’d been hit with two of bullets when he decided he was done playing the merciful vampire. He rushed at one of the cloaked men, snatched the gun from him and using the butt of the gun, cracked his skull wide open before turning to the other humans and using their own weapon against them fire at their heads and watch them crumple to the ground.

For Pepper every werewolf she killed two more came in his place which was fine for her for her be cause they refused to stay still making it harder for her to aim. She had to roll away from one biker who was aiming to take her head off before shooting him in the chest and killing him. Another two shots and two more wolves went down only to have four rush at her. She shot at them and killed three of them when she heard the sound that cam too soon: The clicks of an empty gun. Her hand dove into her pocket to get more bullets but the remaining werewolf tackled her to the ground.

“You look good enough to eat,” he chuckled staring down at the redhead. Pepper in defiant spat in his face. He growled and opened his mouth wide ready to a chuck of her shoulder off, just the moment she needed. The redhead took four bullets and threw them into the wolf’s open mouth and covered it so he wouldn’t spit them out. Soon she was on top of the shuddering man, trying to reload her guns with one hand and holding the man’s mouth closed with the other. “Eat this” she said evilly as the man’s eyes rolled into his skull and his shaking stopped. Unfortunately she did not see the werewolf that was sneaking up behind her. He grabbed her arm and threw her into a tree. She winced as she made contact with the tree and felt her arm snap. No doubt that it was probably broken.

She rolled to her knees only to be picked up by another werewolf and slammed into another tree and the picked her up by the neck. Pepper stared at the smiling man and grinned back before using her uninjured hand to pullout a silver dagger from her waist and plunge it into his arm. He let out a painful howl and dropped her. While her attacker was busy trying to get the knife out of hi burning flesh, Pepper located one of her guns and got up from the ground. She aimed and squeezed off six shots.

Overkill? Yes, but then again he did break one of her arms. She staggered to the middle of the field where Sage killed yet another human.

“You okay babe,” he asked. She waved her useless arm in his face before turning and returning fire at the cloaked people. “What the hell do you think?” He snickered as he threw a pouncing werewolf to the side. That’s when he noticed one Hunter aim their gun and shoot.

“Down,” he shouted as he crouched down. Pepper had just turned to ask him what he said when the bullet meant for Sage lodged itself in her chest. She fell, grunting, to the ground holding her bloody chest. Hearing his girlfriend in pain, the blond turned around and all the color left his face when he saw the blood on her shirt. He looked up and saw the remaining werewolves and vampire hunters surrounded the two and then looked at Pepper’s pained face. There was no way he would be able to kill all of them and get Pepper out of harm’s way. He put his fingers into mouth and blew hard. The advancing group looked at him warily as he gathered Pepper into his arm and mentally planned his escape. One werewolf was close enough and rushed at the two only to be tackled by a flying Tobias.

Soon after Leon, Monica and the rest of the vampires came, literally screaming, out of the foliage at the hunters and werewolves, giving Sage the opportunity to flee the hectic scene and into the woods with his injured partner.

“Sage,” said the injured woman clutching his neck as he zoomed by trees, shrubs and the occasional squirrel, “Stop.”

“No way. I need to get you to a hospital now.”

“Sage. Stop right now or I will forever scorn you.” The blond stopped in his tracks knowing that she would make good on her promise. He gently placed her on the ground against a tree, silently whimpering as she went into a coughing fit before wiping a small trail of blood that dribbled out of her mouth.

“Kinda sucks,” she started looking down at her bloody wound, “I didn’t envision my death to be in the woods, killed by a bullet.” Unnerved by his girlfriend’s choice of words he grabbed her other hand squeezed it tightly.

“But your not going to die, c’mon,” he went to pick her up but she smacked him on the forehead before putting her bloody hand to her mouth and letting out another cough. She looked down and saw her whole hand was now covered in her blood.

“See this,” she put her hand inches away from his face. He had to restrain himself from licking the blood. “I’m dying and there’s nothing anyone can do to save me. The crappiest part being that I will lose you.” By this time Sage was in tears knowing that he was going to lose his girlfriend.

“But I don’t want to lose you, not yet anyway.” She said weakly cupping his chin pushing up so she could look at his face. “So do it.” She grunted and let her hand fall to the side.

“What?” The expression on his face was so funny Pepper couldn’t help but laugh even if it brought on more coughing. She took his hand and nuzzled it with her cheek.

“You might have lived on this planet for hundreds of years and learned a lot but you’re still really easy to confuse,” she said before biting his hand hard. He hissed and tried to pull his hand away but she wouldn’t let go. When she did let go Sage put his injured hand in his mouth and tasted his own blood. His eyes went wide as he put two and two together.

“You didn’t,” he started but all the redhead did was smile.

“I told you Sage, I’m not ready to give you up yet,” she said, her teeth chattering as the blond gathered her shaking frame into his arms. “Besides Leon told me that it was so quick I wouldn’t feel anything.”

She started laughing and petting his hair as he sobbed into her shoulder when her body froze for a minute before it started shaking uncontrollably. Sage held onto the redhead as her heart rate slowed to a stop and her body went totally still. Even though he knew she would be back in a few seconds having her die in his arms still made him sob because he could not protect her.

“You’re cute when you’re emotional.” The blond looked up and saw Pepper licking the blood off her hand with a mischievous look in her eyes.

“What,” she asked sucking her thumb, “I’m hungry.”

“Then do I have a buffet for you…”

In another part of the island Patrick had his hands full trying to escape from the emotionally scarred Jodi who was cutting down everything in her path.

“Aww,” he taunted the chasing vampire behind him, “Sad that I killed your girlfriend?”

He turned to see her expression but instead found a tree flying towards him. He jumped to get away but in the panic to actually get away he miscalculated his jump and missed the branch completely, falling to the ground. He immediately got up and tried to get away a second time but Jodi was immediately on him like a shark in a tank of bloody meat, picking him up and throwing him into trees and punching him in the gut repeatedly. After crashing into yet another tree Patrick started to cough up blood. “Guess it would be bad to beg for mercy,” he asked sarcastically feeling the small brunette pick him up to throw him again.

He closed his eyes and tensed up his body getting ready to be thrown again but the throw never came. Instead he felt himself falling to the ground. When he opened his eyes he saw Joe staring down at him holding a smoking shotgun. He looked to the right and almost jumped up, seeing the dull lifeless eyes of the woman who tried to kill him. He got up slowly, leaning on a tree for support still looking at the still corpse.

“What took you so long,” he wheezed. Joe rolled his eyes, pumped the shotgun.

“Well I’m sorry for saving your life,” he said crouched down looking at the body.

“Sure she won’t get up?”

“Yeah, bullets made from the same stuff in the syringes.” He took a shell from his pocket and tossed it at the werewolf. The bald man smiled looking at the bullet and then at the dead vampire before kicking it.

“Now what in the word is the big bad vampire going to do,” he said sarcastically still kicking her. Joe sighed and placed his hand on the man’s shoulder.

“As much as I would love for you to keep abusing a permanently dead person, we still have her associates to deal with.” The werewolf growled but stopped his assault.

“Fine. Let’s take care of the rest of the vermin.” The two left the scene and walked back to where they left their forces. Before they even reached the opening the stench of death hit their noses. Upon reaching the scene, the two saw bodies of Patrick’s pack mates and Joe’s followers littered on the ground. Patrick’s rage grew looking at the dead bodies and then looked at the warring parties.

The two started for the vampires when Patrick stopped in his tracks laughing. He fell to his knees, clutching the dirt in his hand while Joe looked over his associate.

“You okay,” Joe asked aiming his weapon at the crowd. Patrick laughed losing all the energy in his upper body and fell to the ground. He turned himself over and pointed at the sky. Joe looked up and saw the clear night and more importantly the large yellow-white orb called the moon. As soon as he placed two and two together Joe took several steps back from the now convulsing man who snarled as he ripped off his suddenly tight jacket.

Sage and company looked like they had the upper hand when half of the enemy’s force suddenly fell to the ground. It wasn’t until he heard one of them let out a howl did he look up at the sky and realize that they were in some serious trouble. More werewolves joined in the howls as bones morphed, clothes ripped and fur grew. Once the metamorphosis was complete 10 Hunters and ten shaggy chocolate-haired wolves surrounded the small band of vampires.

“Looks like we are going to have some fun after all,” wolf Patrick snickered as he walked over to the group. He was obviously different than the rest of his pack for the fact his fur was a steely gray and he towered over the rest of his pack around twelve feet. Joe stood off to the side holding Alex’s head.

“Time for you people to meet the same fate,” Patrick growled as the circle began smaller. Their advancement stopped when everyone in the heard Joe screamed and everyone looked in the man’s direction. A hand emerged from the ground and currently was wrapped around the man’s ankle preventing his escape.

“Ah! Get it off!”

Panicking the lead Hunter dropped the severed head and his gun and tried yanking his foot away to no avail. He then grabbed his gun and shot at the spot the hand was coming from. The hand let go of Joe’s leg and returned to the soil. Joe scurried back a few feet panting.

“What the fuck was that,” asked one of his cronies. He was about to answer back when the whole area in front of him exploded, grass and dust blocking everyone’s view. When the debris settled a headless body loomed over Joe, holding Alex’s head. Paralyzed by fear he did nothing but watch as the body placed the head on its neck.

The body spun to face the others but no one was paying attention to the body. They were more interested in Alex’s sinister grin and her blood red eyes. At this point the Hunters and even some of the werewolves were in a state of shock. Even the biggest of them all was in disbelief that the person he decapitated, the person whose undead life he was sure he ended was currently in a staring contest with him.

‘That ain’t possible,’ he shouted in his head, ‘I cut off her head!’ It seemed like an eternity since Alex emerged from the ground did some make a move. The same time Alex started to casually walk towards the man-wolf, Joe scrambled to his feet and aimed his weapon at her. As his finger reached to the trigger a shadow from behind him rushed towards him at blinding speed and just as he fired a shot, which missed its target, he felt an explosive pain in his chest. Joe looked down only to see a hand jutting out from his chest and it waved at him. The hand removed itself and he was turned around by it only to see the same evil grin plaster on Jodi’s bloody face he saw on the blonde. She took her finger and wiped something off is face. Disgusted by the act he picked up his gun and aimed it at her face. That’s when his true situation appeared, his mouth filling up with his own blood, the same blood that rushed out of the wound she caused.

“But…I…shot…her,” he said feeling himself fall and his vision go dark. As soon as the gun fell from his dead hands it set off a chain reaction.

Enraged Hunters went after their leader’s murderer.

Furious werewolves rushed at the vampire who wouldn’t die.

Relieved but confused vampires went after both trying to get them away from Alex and Jodi.

Not that anyone the got the chance because before any of them were in striking distance of the two the attackers limbs would be on the ground or their chests would explode. The scene was painted with flying limbs expelled blood, war cries, death screams and everything in between. It was beautiful in gruesome and morbid way. And as fast as the chain reaction started, the chaos stopped with fatalities littered the ground. The only people left were most of the vampires, including Jodi and Alex who were busy feasting, and a badly wounded Patrick.

“No way,” he said in disbelief. in a matter of minutes his army was decimated and the two people who wouldn’t die were the cause of it. He started retreating when he stepped on, of all things, a fallen branch causing the hungry vampires to look up at him with bloody grins. They drop their meals and slowly begin to approach the wounded wolf. Not wanting to face the same fate his comrades met Patrick tried to run. He turned to retreat but blocking his way was Alex crouched down on all four. He turned to the right to escape but this time Jodi was in his way in the same crouched over position as the blonde. Now that the flight option was out of the question Patrick too got onto all four and growled at the two shedding the last of his human self and let his instincts take over.

No one made a move or any sound. All of the sudden Jodi rushed at Patrick who swatted her away before she could attack but then he felt Alex’s teeth at his back. Reaching around he yanked her off his back only to have the brunette latch onto his arm. Snarling he punched her with his free hand. She hit the floor only to get up and jump on to him.

This pattern continued for sometime until Patrick was able to grab both and throw them off of him. He was now trying to feebly get away but blood loss was now taking its toil causing him to crawl on all fours towards the trees. Liker a stalker, Jodi was right behind him ready to strike but a hand on her shoulder stopped her. Alex walked next to the seriously wounded wolf before kicking him so hard he flipped onto his back. She sat on his furry stomach and he started whipping his arms around hoping to hit her but another hit to his side caused the monster to stop.

“Hah,” he chuckled staring at the blonde who was now fixated at his chest. “So this is it huh? Just going to kill me. As if the death of the others hasn’t already pained me enough. Why don’t you just let me leave with at least my prided intact?”

Alex stared at him for a second before she began to chuckle. A minute later the blonde started laughing like a hyena.

“As touching as that was, you sir, are no Anthony Rapp. Therefore you do not make me feel any pity. Either way when I ran you out last time you came back, you tried to kill me, my girlfriend, my family and friends. Do you really expect me to make the same mistake? Now shut up and let me do my job.”

Again he felt her hands roam his chest. “What’s your job?” Alex replied with a smile before plunging her hand in his chest searching for his heart and making him howl in anguish. She pulled out the massive pulsing organ and showed it to her enemy.

“I thought,” he said spitting up blood, “Doctors were suppose to help people.”

“Only people I like,” she stated before crushing the heart in her hand. The wolf roared and squirmed before the body went still. Sighing she rolled off the dead body and onto the grass. Jodi’s face soon blocked her view of the moon her hand stretched out to her.

“Don’t know about you people,” the blonde started grabbing her lover’s hand and hauling herself up, “but with all this drama I’m in serious need of a vacation.”

“But we have to get hitched first.”

“Yeah…What?” Pepper turned to her boyfriend only to see him down on one knee. In his hand a small velvet box. Opening it revealed a ring with a large diamond in the center.

“I was going to ask you later this week but with what has happened now I guess now is a better time than any other. At least it didn’t get ruined in the fight. Pepper will you make me the happiest man in the world?”

“Oh my… yes!” Tears in her eyes she tackled her now fiancé. It wasn’t until Alex looked down did she realize the group wasn’t out of the woods yet.

“As much as I hate to kill this wonderful moment, this island is full of dead bodies and we need to get rid of the evidence. Tobias, I need you to help me get all of the bodies in a pile. The rest of you get back to the boat.”

The two vampires disappeared into the woods while the others hastily returned to the boat. Not even after the last one climbed aboard did someone spot a large plume of smoke rise above the island. Tobias and Alex emerged from the trees, smelling like smoke, and got into the boat. Another vampire started the engine of the boat and it journey back across the might Mississippi. Once they were on the other side of the river the vampires scattered each returning to their homes. Alex and company squeezed themselves into the small car. Sage and Pepper sat in the front while Monica sat on Leon’s lap, leaving the other two seats in the back. Once the car began to move the blonde vampire closed her eyes to catch up on some much deserved sleep.

“So is it over?” Jodi’s soft voice woke the blonde from her sleep. She looked down at the brunette and smiled.

“You know what I learned being alive as long as I have? It’s never over. There will always be a vampire hunter or werewolves, or some other nut trying to kill us.”

“Like hell they will,” Jodi growled resting her head on the doctor’s chest.

“That’s why you have me.”

“So you’re my guardian angel.” Sage parked the car outside of the house.

“Not so much an angel.” Alex caressed her neck as they climbed out of the vehicle and entered the house. “More like a devil.” She nipped the smaller woman’s neck before running up the stairs and into her room. The blonde felt her weight on her back as she fell onto the soft silk. Jodi rolled off of the tired doctor and laid next to her so they were face to face.

“So then guardian devil, what now.”

“Well I don’t know about you but I have a wedding to plan. And I am not videotaping it,” she exclaimed laughing. And as she went to sleep dirty and slightly sore, next to her slept an equally dirty Jodi and she realized that this was the first time she was happy.

Epilogue – 5 months later

It had been a slow day at the office as Susan and four other doctor aids noticed. Well at least for the object of their affection. They sighed as the blonde doctor came out of an examination room with her last patient dropped some files at the counter and then bid farewell to the patient before retuning to the room. As the man was leaving a short woman walked into the office. She walked up to counter smiling at the bored women. It was the buxom blonde who noticed the brunette.

“Hey Jodi. How are you?”

“Good good,” her hand went into her purse and pulled a lone picture, “Hey wanna see Alex in a dress?”

As soon as the words “Alex” and “dress” registered in their heads, the women got off their chairs and began to fight over the lone picture. Susan got the picture and held it above her head before gasping, “Oh my god…” There Alexandria Martin was, next to her brother, dressed in a black suit, in a strapless navy blue gown, her blonde hair pulled into a bun.

“Hey love, what’s… up?” Alex left her room and walked into the waiting room not surprised to see the brunette waiting for her but was surprised at the angry women who were holding a picture. Before she could get another word in they verbally attacked her thrusting the picture into her face.

“When are you going to wear that dress again?”

“Why didn’t you tell us you have a brother?” Jodi felt some guilt as the fan club pushed the doctor against a wall and she decided to intervene. She quickly walked up to the still advancing mob and snatched both the picture and the blonde before escaping to an examination room, locking the door behind her.

“Damnit girl,” Alex complained taking off the white coat she wore everyday as Jodi hopped onto the table, “You had to get them riled up didn’t you?”

“They looked so down. I had to brighten them up somehow. Then I remembered the picture I took.”

“You need to be punished.” The doctor was so happy her lover was wearing pants that had an elastic waistband as her lips went to Jodi’s ear and she traced the tip with her tongue. The woman let out a low groan and grabbed the doctor’s wandering hands.

“Alex…we don’t have time.”

“Then it’ll be a quick examination,” she said winking as her hand traveled beneath the teacher’s waistband. She caressed the heated skin as her finger tips traced a familiar trail to her panties. Or so she would have if Jodi was wearing any. The blonde looked at her lover who gave her a smug look as if she had planned the situation all long. She sent a smug look back before he fingers went down, down, and up until two were enveloped with a familiar warmth and wetness. The woman above her groaned and moved her hips in time with the rapidly moving fingers. The brunette was so engrossed in her present feelings, slumped over the blonde, that she did not realize that somehow Susan and the other unlocked the door and now were watching the erotic each of them wishing they were in Jodi’s place.

“Oh god they look so hot,” one of them said as Jodi let out a breathy squeal and arched her body upwards towards the blonde, hard stokes causing her body to jerk and when she could feel the beginning spasms of her orgasm Alex would go pack to lightly stroking her exciting her body even more. She groaned, she whimpered, she bucked and once again she was rewarded with hard strokes once again but this time they didn’t stop. The brunette didn’t even realize that she had her eyes closed until she opened them and saw Susan and the girls peeking through a crack in the door. And when the moment came she didn’t even realize it until grabbed onto the blonde to stop her body from its wild shaking before she slumped backwards onto the table away from the smiling blonde who was busy licking her fingers.

“You know,” the brunette started in a serious tone as she pushed herself off the table, “I didn’t like it how you made me buy that expensive car the other day.”

“Well you did owe me that favor.” Alex smiled as she sucked onto her fingers and sat down on a chair. She was too interested in her fingers and did not see Jodi walk behind her with a pair of “special” handcuffs.

“Well than it looks like you owe me a bigger favor.” The brunette quickly pulled the blonde’s arms behind the chair and put them in the steal restraints. Alex laughed as she played along. That was until Jodi walked to the door and opened it revealing the five women faces all flushed with embarrassment.

“Uh.. hi Jodi…,” one of them started to explain,”we can...”

“Don’t worry we could hear you anyway,” Jodi replied ushering them into the room and shutting it again before looking at the captive blonde wickedly. “Say, how would you girls like a crack at her.”

“Are you crazy!!” Alex looked at her lover eyes wide as dinner plates. She tried getting out of the handcuffs and found that she couldn’t. Jodi walked over to Alex and covered her mouth. The women looked at her like she suddenly had two heads.

“Look, I’m giving you girls this one chance, this once in a lifetime chance to do what your hearts desire on the woman you named a frickken club after. This one time I decided to make believe I didn’t see anything and you guys decided to grow a conscience? Oh boy.”

“But…what about Alex?” The doctor was still struggling to get the handcuffs off when the teacher dismissed the worry with a wave of her hand,

“She had this coming to her sooner or later.” The women were still apprehensive knowing this was still borderline rape. Jodi sighed in disappoint and was about to let go of the doctor’s mouth when Susan took two steps forwards so that she was next to the seated vampire. And without warning the woman pressed her tongue and dragged it along the doctor's neck until she reached the bottom of her ear. The sudden pressure elicited a muffled groan from her captive.

“Well Susan?” Asked the still smirking Jodi.

“Girls…She tastes like honey…” When she finally opened her eyes, when she closed them even she didn't know, Alex saw the dark fire of lust in the buxom blonde’s eyes and when she brought her head back to the correct position she saw the women slowly advancing all had the same look Susan had. She also got a glimpse at a smirking Jodi before her vision was blocked by chests.

But, dear readers, that is a story for another time.
