The Truth Is...

“Silvan! No don’t leave!”

Her form shot up. The darkness surrounded her like a comforting blanket. Panting, Kaire slipped from her bed. Her bare feet slid over the cold floor. She had those dreams again. The black eyed woman never had such a weakness as him.

“Damn you Silvan. Damn you and that girl.” Kaire’s stomach lurched. She doubled over in pain. “Damn all of you. Damn all of you for making me have to be sick!”

“Lady Kaire? Are you okay?”

“What are you doing here Lucian?” Kaire forced the pain from her body as she sat up. “You know men are not allowed in the temple.”

“You’re hurting again. I can feel it.” The silver haired man moved to her side. “ Why do you do this to your self?”

“You wouldn’t understand Lucian.”

Kaire looked up at him. Lucian sat down on the beds side and he pulled her with him. Kaire reluctantly let him lay her back. Lucian’s hands trailed over her stomach gently. The healer would work his magic again to ease her growing pain.

“Wouldn’t I?” Lucian’s eyes met hers for a brief moment. “I, of all people, understand better than most.”

“Why do you do this to your self?” Kaire sighed. The pain slipped away from her body with the healers touch. “Why put your self in this situation?”

“Because I love you.”Lucian pulled his hand from her stomach finally. “You know this.”

“I know but I do not love you Lucian. You know this. So why torture your self by coming here. If your people caught you helping me they would not be happy.”

“People do strange things for the ones they love My lady.” Lucian smiled towards her. “And I know how you feel.”

“If you weren’t of use you know I would have to kill you.”

Kaire’s eye’s met his. Lucian nodded and grasped her hand in his. His eyes closed. She knew what he was doing now. Kaire sighed and relaxed her head against the pillow. He knew more about her than anyone. She had no idea why she let this Corinthian healer into her life like she did.

“You’re condition has worsened.” Lucian opened his eyes slowly. “You can not keep doing this to your self. You can’t keep lusting after your own half brother.”

“I will do as I Must!” Kaire pulled her hand from his. “I may be his half sister but he does not know this. No one does.”

“I know you are.” Lucian grabbed her hand again and held it.”I also know everyday that you keep the chaos seed inside you it makes you sicker and sicker. Please let me remove it.”

“I can’t! I need it’s magic to help me win Silvan.” Kaire looked away. “Lucian I know you think you care about me but you really don’t. I may be his half sister but I might as well not be. My mother slipped into Tamin’s bed guised as his beloved and took him. She was Mistress Thaesha of the chaos maidens. I must live up to her name. As her daughter I can not fall to a weaker blood. I can bare the seed of my sisters.”

“But you can’t. That’s just it. Please Kaire. Even if you do not love me. Let me remove it. I beg of you. If you keep the seed inside your self then you will surely die. How will you be able to claim Silvan’s heart if you are dead?”

“I.” Kaire was taken a back by his words. “I can not win against that girl without the seeds power.”

“He loves that girl. Just as I love you. Why can’t you accept that?” Lucian leaned closer to her. His other hand stroked the soft skin of her cheek. “You do not need him.”

“How do you know what I need Lucian? Don’t you understand? He was the first person to show kindness to me when I was a girl. Before I took the seed I met him. I was attacked by blood wolves and he appeared on his black steed.” She sighed. “He saved me. He could have let me die but he didn’t. From that moment I fell in love with him. I need him.”

“I could be your knight if you let me.” Lucian let his hand slip away from her cheek. “I could be someone that worshiped the ground you walked on.”

“You already do Lucian.”

Kaire shifted to sit up. Lucian pressed his hand to her chest and pushed her back down onto the bed. Kaire grunted. She could easily force hm away so why didn’t she? This man frustrated her so. She would never let anyone else talk to her like this. She was Kaire, daughter of Thaesha Gyreshon.

“Please?” Lucian asked her one more time.”Will you let me remove the seed?”

“Not right now. I need it. Silvan is coming here. I will kill his wife and claim him. Once I have done this you can take it from me. I will no longer need the sisters when I have him beside me.”

“It will never work Lady Kaire. His love for her is too strong. They have a bond. Why can’t you see this?”

“Why can’t you see that I do not love you?” kaire answered his question with a question. “Hmm?”

“I think you don’t know what you want honestly.” Lucian leaned forward so he was over her more. “I think you need someone to show you that you can be the old Kaire. The Kaire that I knew before you were taken by the seed.”

“You are certainly opinionated tonight Lucian.” Kaire looked up at him. “Just what do you plan to do to show me your ill conceived thoughts.”

“You believe me deep down.”

His lips touched hers. Lucian kissed her deeply. His passion for her was no secrete. Kaire gasped into the kiss. Her hands came up to meet his chest. They grasped his robes tightly. When their lips parted they were only inches from each other. Lucian’s right hand trailed over her side and down to meet her hip.

“Most men would call you crazy Lucian.”

“Maybe but I am not most men am I? I am Lucian of Foxx. I am a healer of the Corinthian people who is desperately in love with Kaire Gyreshon. She is the head maiden of Chaos and deep down I know she feels for me. Else I would have been dead years ago.”

“You are also bold and verge on stupidity.” Kaire whispered. Her breaths danced across his lips. “You know I want Silvan and I will have him.”

“You just haven’t allowed your self to want something better.”

“And what is better than he?”

“I will show you.”

Lucian kissed her again. His hands grasped around her hips and pulled her against him. His right hand slipped upwards along the middle of her back and held her there. Kaire gasped again in surprise. He had not been so bold with her in the past. Her hands found their way to his shoulders. She tightened her grip at the robe there.

“Lucian.” She took a heavy breath as she pulled away. “You know what will happen if you do this with me.”

“You care?”

Lucian smiled and let his lips trail along her neck to her ear lobe. Kaire grunted in frustration. Of course she did! Wait? She wasn’t supposed to think like this! Kaire pushed him away with her hands. There was at least a few inches of space between them.

“Don’t. You will become infected by the seed inside me.”

“No I won’t. Tamin was not effected.”

“Because my mother was stronger then me. She could control the seed.”

“Let me remove it and you can be just as strong. You will not be weakened.” Lucian kissed her bottom lip. “The truth is I know you want me to. Please just let me do it.”

“Lucian I..” Kaire shook her head. “I need it.”

“You only need me. Forget about him and let me love you woman.”

“You don’t talk like a healer you know.” Kaire smiled. “You really don’t.”

“As I said. I am not just any man now am I?”

“I suppose not. Don’t think that just because let you do this with me that I love you.”
“Of course. I will just have to show you that you do. It is just that simple.”

Lucian nibbled along her neck again. His right hand was slightly glowing as it slid over her side. Kaire cringed. Pain wracked her body just as quickly as he had made it go away.

“What are you doing?! Stop!”

“No! Trouble beyond what you’ve ever known comes! I am doing what I should have a long time ago!”

Lucian increased the spell’s power and kissed her again. Kaire screamed, muffled, into the kiss. In her weakened state she could not fight against him. He knew this. The spell pulled and wrapped it’s self around the chaos seed inside her. She screamed again. Her lips broke from his when the seed was torn away from her body.

“N..noo!! What do you mean?! Lucian Stop!”

“I can’t. I want to save you so I must!” Lucian forced him self from her body. In his right hand was a glowing black ball that was surrounded by silvery light. Kaire took weak, panted breaths. Her eyes fought to stay open. It was a hopeless battle. It was a battle she lost. Her form slipped into unconsciousness.

“Sleep my love.”

Lucian crushed the black seed in his hand. Kaire would wake up hating him a hundred times worse. He didn’t care. It was killing her. He was proof that people really did strange things for the ones they loved.

“It is time to go home.” He rose from the bed. Kaire laid still in his arms. Lucian cradled her body against him. “I will take you from here.”

Both He and Kaire faded into a silver vapor. He could not take her to Corinthia though. He would instead take her to someplace else in the middle lands. She would not be happy about it but the truth was that he did love her and her death was not something he wanted to see.

“You’re home!”

A girls voice rang out. She ran forward but stopped almost instantly. Lucian looked up to meet the eyes of his adopted daughter Kitten.

“You brought that woman with you.” She looked upset. Kitten wasn’t a Corinthian. She was not a Varian. She was not even a born Chaosian. She was from Earth. “Why daddy?” The twelve year old shook her head. “She doesn’t like us!”

“Kitten please. I know this. Please just help me. We have much to prepare for.”

“You don’t mean that he...” Kitten looked absolutely frightened. Her green eyes were as wide as saucers. “He knows about everything that has been happening?”

“I am afraid so.” Lucian walked past her to a opened door. “I am also afraid this lands wars are far from over.”

“Daddy can’t we leave and go somewhere safe?”

“Where would we go?” Lucian laid Kaire on the bed. “All of our peoples will have to face this. It is just a matter of time. So all we can do is prepare.”

“I’m scared.”

Kitten wrapped her arms around him. Lucian brushed a finger through her soft red hair. Kitten hugged him even tighter.

“Don’t be. The one that can end the war is on the way. We must keep heart. Until then we must stand together and protect the ones we love.”

“That is why you brought her here isn’t it?” Kitten looked up at him. “Because you love her.”

“Yes Kitten. The maidens of chaos will be effected by all of this. I will not see her suffer with them.” Lucian looked at the sleeping Kaire. “Even if I must keep her captive.”

“You may have to daddy.” Kitten shook her head. “She won’t be happy.”

“I know. Let’s get the cuffs on her. “

“Yes daddy.”

Kitten and Lucian worked to cuff Kaire’s wrists and ankles to the bed. This was not for any kind of kink. It was to make her stay. When she woke up Kaire would be struggling and if she were not chained she would leave. Next the inhibitor was placed on her forehead. It was a gemstone of green that centered it’s self on the forehead. She would not be able to use her magic or teleport away.

“Come on honey.” Lucian pulled Kitten away and into the other room. “Let her rest. You don’t want to be in here when she wakes up.“
