“ So.” Sarai Smoothed the edges of her robe as she looked to door. “I guess we still wait.” She was becoming a little impatient. They had been there for forever, at least, it felt like forever.

“It would seem so My lady Sarai.” Silvan barely looked away from Serenity’s sleeping form.”I am sure they are speaking amongst them selves right now. They will tell us what is going on. The sisterhood has never let the Corinthian people down.”

“So you’re saying you aren’t just a creation of my daughters imagination?”

“No my lady. Corinthia is one of eight alternate dimensions. Earth is known as the middle world and it is a center point for all dimensional gate ways. That is why your people often speak of things that seem impossible. An example might be big foot. He is from the world of beasts but every once in a while a gate way will open and they will slip through into alternate worlds. It is the same with us except that we have learned to control the gates magic.”

Sarai blinked at this. She had always heard her own parents speak of different realms and such but she had always thought them dreamers. She was more grounded and down to Earth as it were. Silvan chuckled at the confused look on her face.

“Its not terribly hard to grasp if you think about it logically. Your people have always dreamed of fairy’s, elves, monsters and the worlds they came from. The dreams had to have come from something right?” Sarai mulled over the things he spoke in her mind. He had a point to some degree. Silvan smiled at her nod and than continued. ”Everything in this world and the next is connected. These people that dream of these things are simply connecting to the magic of the realms on a higher level. They never think of it as anything more than a dream however.”

He let his fingers slip around and hold Serenity’s hand gently as he spoke. Silvan would not leave her side for a moment. He had not even changed from his dress armor in fact. Sarai sat down in a chair just across from Serenity and Silvan. There was a lot to consider now. The things Silvan said had made her start to try and put two and two together her self.

“So basically people from all dimensions use Earth as a center point. The people of Earth sometimes tap into this magic on a higher level but often refer to it as a dream. This isn’t always true though!” Sarai looked up at him. “Serenity believe in it so much she thought it was real. She felt her dreams always meant something more. She..” Sarai paused to choke back a tear. “She always wrote to you and thought you were real.”

“True. Some people do feel this way.” Silvan smiled towards his own sleeping beauty.

“And I think they all should.”

Veleska’s voice interrupted. She stepped inside the room completely and bowed to her prince. Silvan stood and returned the bow.
“Have the elder sisters called for us?” Silvan was eager to find out what was going on.

“They wish to speak with the lady Sarai alone for the moment. I have been sent to escort her.” Veleska smiled. “If she doesn’t mind that is.”

“No” Sarai stood. “I don’t mind.”

“Is something the matter?” Silvan looked curious.”She didn’t know anything about all this is that is what you’re wondering.”

“Not at all sire. They would just like to speak with her. Please do not feel offended. They also wish The lady Serenity to be awake to hear everything. This is another reason why they have asked you to wait just a little longer.”

“I see. I suppose that would be best.” The prince grunted to him self.”Why was getting something as simple as an answer THIS difficult. ”I will wait here with her then.”

“Thank you sire.” Veleska looked to Sarai and motioned to the door.”Are you ready to go My lady?”

“Yes. I am ready.”

She smiled slightly. She glanced to Silvan and Serenity one last time before exiting the room with Veleska. She had given him a re assuring nod that things would be okay. Veleska lead her down the long corridor slowly. Sarai noticed the rooms they passed. One had a large fountain in the center of it and it was surrounded by roses. Another had a very large and grand statue of an Angel lady. She had to ask. The Angels ladies eyes were closed and her hands were joined together as if in prayer.

“Ms. Veleska. I wonder who that woman is.” She stopped to point at the large statue of the angel.”She looks very peaceful and somber but I am curious because she has six wings.”Sarai re-counted them quickly just to make sure she had the number correct.

“She is our goddess. She is the great goddess Serenity the Seraphim of White.”

“That’s..” Sarai gasped. “She is..named..”

The goddess shared the same name as her daughter? Could this be why Serenity’s eyes were changing? No. That couldn’t be it. All of the sudden a million and one thoughts filled her head. More than half were questions that she wanted to ask but some how just could not find the words for. She felt Veleska’s hand touch hers. Sarai forced her thoughts back and looked at the white haired priestess.

“She shares the name with our goddess. I know. It does have a little to do with what is going on.” She stepped back from the baffled mother. “That is to say , We have a theory and we can only speculate but if we are correct than it will be a good thing for us all.”

“What is it you speculate?”

“That is not for me to say yet. The elder sisters would like to speak with you first before they can confirm or deny what we are thinking.” Veleska stepped off quickly.”Please come along though. The sisters are waiting for you in the great hall.”

“Oh..umm Alright.”

What was with these people! They certainly knew how to avoid direct questions. Sarai was becoming just as exasperated as the prince right now because of it. Veleska shook her head and continues down the hall. She did not like deflecting the questions but she would rather do that than say something or assume something and than it NOT be true. The prince would be more disappointed in them for that than anything else.

“It is frustrating my lady. I can understand your plight. Please understand that I am not trying to avoid your questions. I just do not wish to tell you something and than it be totally wrong. The sisterhood can and will explain everything when it is time and when they have all the parts to the puzzle that they need. Until than I am afraid I must beg for your patience just a while longer.” Veleska stopped just before a large set of double doors. “Okay my lady? I would not ask this of you if it were not important.”

“I understand.” Sarai sighed. “And I apologize. It is just as you said. It is frustrating and I do not know how to help.”

“You can help just by answering the questions they will ask. Please answer them to your best knowledge and be honest about them. I can say they will involve your past and include questions about Serenity’s father. I have watched your family enough to know this is a tender subject. I have told the sisters this and I am sure they will try an be as tactful as possible.”

“M..My husband.”Sarai wished she were at home now.”I will do the best I can.”

Veleska was right. Her husband was a sore and touchy topic. He had been very cruel in the last months of their marriage together. It was a sudden change in him. He would be gone for days and than come home. He grew colder by the day almost. Finally it all ended in that one large fight. This fight still haunted both Serenity’s and her dreams.

“This way.” Veleska pushed the doors open.”Please follow me.”

Sarai had to gasp. The size of the great hall was impressive. It was almost larger than Silvan’s own ball room. She walked down a small, narrow silver carpet. On either side of the carpet rested great pillars and statues of various people. Some were kings. Some were heroes that had given their lives for Corinthia. One statue in particular had grabbed her attention. Sarai felt a cold shiver run down her spine when she looked at it.

“My lady?”

“Huh?” Sarai forced her self to look away from the statue. “Who is this?”

“He was the last of the founding blood of Corinthia.” Veleska turned to face her fully. “His name is Marcus the Righteous and he was the ruler of house Fyrestorm.”

“What..happened to him?”

Sarai stepped a little closer to the statue to touch the white hand. He stood tall and proud as any king should. He wore robes that flowed past his feet and down. His face looked kind. This Marcus looked as if all his people could love and trust him. More than that, Sarai felt she knew him deep down inside.

“He disappeared from our world my lady.”A hint of sadness came tot he priestess’s voice.”They sent search parties to look for him. The guards and even my sisterhood looked for him. I was only a novice at the time but I remember him still. He was a great leader of men and women alike.”

“Oh..”Sarai looked down.”What do you mean by last Blood founder?”

“His blood line was the last of the original decedents of the first kings of Corinthia’s past. He disappeared in his prime. He was about to take a wife and give Corinthia a queen when he vanished. He left no heirs to the throne. With his blood gone, there was no other choice. The throne was handed down to the next in line. Duke Tamin Demetrious. There has been no regrets. King Tamin is a good king. He has even said if an heir to the old blood is ever found that he would return the throne to its rightful ruler.”

“Yes. He is a very noble man.” Sarai glanced up at Veleska. The woman offered the priestess a smile.”We should go now. I am sure we have kept the elder sisters waiting long enough because of my questions.”

“This way My lady, and it is alright. I do not think they will mind. Every statue in here has a part of Corinthia’s history and we cherish all of it. If we can tell of our Corinthia and her greatness, none would pass that opportunity up. They also would not blame you for asking.”

Veleska lead the way. The great hall was vast and lead to a smaller room that connected at the end of the narrow silver rug. Here is where the three elder sisters awaited Sarai. Sarai pushed her self forward and into the room. Hopefully some questions would be answered and hopefully they would soon know what was happening with Serenity.
