Chapter 09 - No Regrets
Chapter summary: Some cuddling on the road for Shandaar and Kieran, while things between Radwan and Xylon are heating up, in a good way!
Author’s Notes: It’s amazing on how I really love to write this story! I’m pretty proud of what I came up with so far, and I’ve decided to put some more slash, even though it’s technically an adventure/fantasy fic with slash romance. I’ve got my next chapter planned so it shouldn’t take very long until the next update! ^_^. Makes a nice Christmas gift eh? XD.
Take Me Away
Chapter 09 – No Regrets
They just had left Fatshir. Raya had that impression she had left something at the last inn, yet she hadn’t according to what was on the floor. Gold coins, a ring or two, a few bracelets and random jewellery, a kerchief, and other stuff she didn’t even remember she had. “I found those earrings a while ago. I still haven’t wore them… think they’d look good on me?” she asked, showing Shandaar and Kieran – who barely seemed to care – the so-said silver earrings with blue decorations.
The young prince seemed to be more attracted to what was going on outside the carriage. He had never taken this route before, and it wasn’t very surprising. Most people traveled by the main road, yet they couldn’t; royal guards were posted every now and then. Although there was none at Fatshir… that still intrigued the silver-haired heir. Yes, there was something wrong going on. His attention was diverted once again, at the gradual change of scene.
After a few days, the trees were getting rare, replaced by greenery, then golden, yellowish grass, something he had never really paid attention for last time he traveled around. He knew there were headed for the Nael Kingdom. From there, they would be free to continue on feet, or not. All would depend on the team. He felt ready for it.
In-between cities and villages, areas seemed deserted. He had suspected aboriginals were still living around, but had seen none. Maybe they chose to live another lifestyle, away from the technology. Every two or three days, the caravan would stop for a few hours, giving the chance to its occupants to wash and walk around. Shandaar had the advantage of being used to it –well the non-stop travel- yet had a hard time adapting to the changes. It was really different from when he would travel with the royal family crew… As Kieran had said, he had been getting sick a few times because of the food, which gave the group a few more reasons to stop. And if he had thought the trip to Logas was long… the trip to Biron was even longer, according to the others.
“I had never realized this country was that big. When I was a kid, I remember the servants bringing toys for me so I would find it quick. Now that I’m an adult, I do find it much longer. I should have brought a book, or my drawing pad…” Shandaar stated, obviously bored. “To Logas, at least we should have gone through other cities.”
“I know what you feel” Kieran replied, gently patting his lover’s upper leg. It’s not like there’s a ton of activities to do around. And since most of the population are in villages and cities, you can be that what’s in between is dead. It’s easier to find a work to support your family in a city than in the middle of nowhere.” Middle of nowhere was the right description for the lands…
The prince turned his head to the other male, his blue eyes looking him over. He was happy to be with the man he loved instead of the old counsellors and administrators that wanted to regulate his life. “What about the nomads? Are there any left?” he asked, his eyes still set on the figure beside him.
“Yeah. We trade with them on our trips most of the time, but they hang out around the border, on the outskirts or Biron. They usually have good merchandise, and maybe you’ll find cool stuff.”
“Do they still speak their original language?”
“Between them, yeah. But with Kadessan, they usually speak English, so you won’t have to worry with this.”
Shandaar gave one last look outside the caravan before lifting the adventurer’s arm and putting it over his shoulders in order to snuggle. Right now, he felt good, as if all the problems had magically disappeared, leaving room for bliss. “The more I think about it, the more I feel like it was a good idea to tag along with you. I don’t regret anything.”
“Do you seriously think I regret that too?” Kieran replied, reaching for his boyfriend’s lips, bringing him into a deep kiss.
Dagmar, who had been joined by Raya on the front of the transport engine, turned his head back to check on the two remaining men, and then spoke to the only girl. “Yeah well, they can’t stop touching each other.” By his voice tone and the eye roll, the thief found out he was slightly annoyed at that fact. “It’s in those times I really miss my wife.”
“I’m not in couple, and I don’t find it annoying. It’s cute, admit it!”
There was a shrug. “No.”
“Awww. You say that ‘cause you’re a straight male. If you were a girl, or a gay guy, you’d find it cute.”
“Hey you, don’t start going at it in this place, please…” the bearded giant added as he turned his head once more; Shandaar and Kieran were basically groping each other. It wasn’t disgusting, though slightly disturbing.
The raven-haired man backed off from the kiss and leaned on the slightly smaller prince, who was blushing, not used to public display of affection. ‘Maybe I am a bit too sheltered, after all…”
“At this rate, we should get to Biron in two or three more days. You’ll have all the time to grope and fuck there, hehe.” This line got a smile on the axe man’s face as he continued to give directions to the horses, which were to go straight ahead most of the time. “It’s such a quiet place…”
Little did they know they were being followed.
In fact, Kordell, Karali and about twenty men and women were only a few hours behind them. They had known that the ones that lead them weren’t going through the most common route, but their horses were good enough to follow quickly.
“So we’re going to try to ambush them at Biron?” the redhead male inquired, keeping his focus on the road. Last time he had turned to catch his sister’s gaze, he almost fell over.
She nodded in return. “While they’re still in Kadessa, yeah. Going to be easier for the authorities to try and find us. I don’t wanna wait ages. On the other hand, if we don’t wait, we could all die. I suggest we wait until they’re somewhere farther ‘cause we might have more people. Let’s see how long it takes for Radwan and Xylon to get here… Hopefully they’re going to stay a while in Jaterak, across the border. However, I highly doubt they’re going to stay over two weeks there.”
“So… what are we gonna go in the end?”
“Wait and see what happens.”
-
It had taken a week for Xylon to finally meet up with Radwan, at Fatshir. The road was long and boring, but it had been so worth it. The green-haired man hopped up his horse, telling the man that followed them to find places to sleep, and food to buy. They could normally stop through other towns, but preferred a straight way to Biron. Because he really doubted that the ones they were after would really head to Logas. That would mean the premature end of their trip. Or maybe they would wait to get them at Jaterak… he had no idea.
The only think on his mind was to get back to his beloved Radwan. Apparently, the other man was at the inn, and surely hadn’t moved much from there. Both males at opposite personalities, and opposites attract… where Xylon was outgoing, silly and usually happy-go-lucky, Radwan was a lone wolf, serious and quite dark. But he couldn’t blame him to be this way, no. He loved each and every trait of the older man. The mysterious aura that was characteristic of his lover attracted him, turned him on. He felt like he could get lost in that man, never get back yet still feel secure.
On his way to the inn, he had bought candles and oils, hoping that they would have the time to be a bit romantic before leaving the next morning. Maybe the blue-haired man would remain of ice, considering the circumstances, but the possibilities were low. Not a lot of people had been able to get through Radwan Jayser, as if he had feared attachment of any kind. Of course both were very stubborn, and a few times, their couple had been in danger, but they always got back together. Nothing was easy, but everything was possible for them. To Xylon, every fight they had reminded him how much he loved his partner.
It was still dusk when the small man reached the right place. In feline motions, he made his to the counter, and asked for his lover’s room, looking the innkeeper over. He loved the icy blue eyes that looked at him, the sandy brown hair, those hunky shoulders… reminded him of Radwan. But the latter was much better than anybody else he had fucked – or been fucked by – in his whole life. After two years together, he still was highly attracted to his boyfriend, no matter how many flings and one-night stands he had when he was alone and wanted company. One thing he knew, is that most of the times Radwan was basically aroused by the stories. Some kind of masochism, he figured out. Who would really want to hear about their lovers’ sexual activities, if not when it was with them?
Xylon knocked softly on the door, leaning on it before hearing rustling coming from the room. The other man might have been in bed already or simply resting. He had opted for the second option. The wooden door opened, revealing a tall figure, whose piercing blood red eyes had this seductive glow to it. Even his face didn’t remain indifferent. No, Radwan was unable to resist to the younger man. Completely helpless. A sigh of relief escaped the lips. “You made it safe. Thank heavens.” The spearman let his lover enter the room and closed the door behind him. “I was worried. We got attacked a few times on our way, and I hoped the same hadn’t happened to you. I would have never forgotten myself-“
“You’re too sweet. I kill for a living; I would’ve destroyed them like this.” The green-haired man snapped his fingers and walked up to his boyfriend, happy to be back in those arms. Those arms that would protect him forever, that would do anything to save him. Deep inside, they were both eternal romantics.
“Talking about destroying… any news on the prince’s whereabouts since here?” the older man asked, his head tilted in puzzlement. Since he had been ordered to stay here, he had no idea of what was going on, and what their destination would be. There were too many possibilities to think about.
Not taking the “change” of topic as a sign of rejection, the small man simply parted from his lover’s arms and sat at the table, looking through his bag for some alcohol. Red wine he had gotten a short while ago. “Shall I serve you a drink?” When he received a nod as an answer and saw the other male walking to the table, he got a hold of two glasses and poured the liquid in them, then brought the glass to his lips and took a sip before speaking up again. “They are actually headed for Biron. It’s going to be a long way there, honey. We’ll have to leave tomorrow morning, and spent most of our time awake. We can’t wait too long, yet we can’t do everything too fast. Both would cost us everything, even our lives.”
Radwan had to agree. If they had little plans or the group escaped them, everything would fail. It wouldn’t make them outcasts, but it still wouldn’t be a good thing. The worse would be to get caught and being either in a dungeon for the rest of their lives, or be executed for treason. “You’re right. But before, we have to catch up with the prince and his gang. And to do that, we’ll obviously need sleep… but right now, I need some sex. Oh yeah! Talking about sex… want to know who I ended up with in Kadessa?” Xylon asked, smirking.
“Who?”
“Ethan Darby himself.”
The blue-haired man’s expression barely changed, but his glass was put back on the table. No, he wasn’t mad at the other… he could never be mad at him. Anyways, not for sex. “Really? Ethan Darby of the royal army? You gotta be kidding me, honey…”
“Nope” he replied with a chuckle. “Not a joke. And the guy wasn’t that drunk… let’s say he wanted to know where prince Shandaar was. I told him what I was told to say… that we had the prince. But after everything.”
Intrigued by his lover’s affair – and turned on – he leaned on the table, resting his head in his palm. “Tell me more, Xylon…”
“We met at the fountain in the capital, and it didn’t take very long for me convince him to follow me to the inn. After all, I was horny. We talked a bit about his obsession… the prince… he’s quite attached to him. Kinda like how I’m attached to you. Just… with a hint of obsession.” He paused in order to light a candle and drink from his glass, and then continued. “So that’s where the sex talk came in. Telling me that someone is great is fine; but what would you do to that person?”
Radwan’s smirk grew, swallowing every drop of the man’s voice.
“”How would you tell him you appreciate him? How would you tell him that you love him? That you want to be with him forever? That your loyalty to such a man will never stop? Tell me. I want to know. I want you to teach me.” That’s what I told him. Of course I’m no prince, but yet, I think I gave him ideas on how to do it. So he got to his knees, his eyes looking straight at me.” Xylon saw his lover drop to his knees as well, his arm extended in his direction.
“My dear. You have little idea of how much I love you. There is nothing neither too small nor too huge for you; I would sell my soul for you, die for you, my one and only. Forever, my heart belongs to you.” Romance at its best,
“Yeah, that sounded like that. But heh, we’re talking about a guard pining for a prince here. I still can’t deny you’re doing a fucking good job at this-“
The blue-haired man chuckled once again lifting his gaze so it met the other’s yellow eyes. “You know I do a good job at fucking you.”
The smaller man’s wound up in his, and it was brought to his lips, gently kissing the tanned flesh. “I never had to complain. And I hope never to have to. You’re a closet romantic, Radwan. That’s what you are. I love it.” He was pulled closer to his boyfriend, falling down in his arms with a laugh. “You’re impossible.”
“You’re the impossible one, always talking about sex. It’s the only thing on your mind. And on mine when I’m with you.” Their lips met in a deep, fiery kiss, and soon Xylon wasn’t touching the floor anymore, for the taller man had scooped him up in his strong arms, dragging him to the bed, where more candles had been previously lit. “That’s gonna be your night, cute thing.”
“Don’t cute thing me, Radwan.” He slapped the other male on the back of his head and ended up snuggling the bigger body in the end. He was laid on the bed, above the blankets, and slowly undressed. Kisses were spread from his jawbone down to the chest, eventually arousing the swordman. He didn’t know if he should go ahead and start to fuck already, or play along for a short while. His large hands roamed all around the body, brushing against the hardening member, making his other half moan quietly.
Xylon closed his eyes, letting the feelings overwhelm his body and spirit. The spearman’s touch was soft and strong at the same time, and in the wrong times – not now – would be a danger. The left hand finally encircled the man’s member, slowly pumping away. Sometimes he’d use his tongue and lips, making the green-haired male moan louder and louder each time. Slowly, he crawls on top of his lover, not letting go of the hard-on. His other hand moved to a candle, grabbing it, and then lowered himself again. His red eyes made contact with the yellow orbs once again in a mischievous grin. A few drops of hot wax wound up on the smaller man’s body, making him yelp, his back arched. Wasn’t extremely painful, just something to enhance the pleasure…
And again. More moans escaped from his mouth as he was being given one of the best hand jobs in his entire life, his hands balled in fists as he clung to the sheets, trying not to ejaculate right now. This was way too wonderful, it just couldn’t end. As he thought this, the fingers that were previously holding the candle were by his mouth which he opened to let them in. His tongue ran on every one of them, wetting them with his saliva, a feeling Radwan seemed to enjoy… but even more when the same tongue ran on his hardening member. Oh well. He’d jerk off later. Now he just wanted to take care of his green-haired boyfriend.
Once the digits were wet enough, he took them back, almost willing to put himself in a 69 position, but quickly gave up on the idea. That would mean stopping his activities for a second. Instead he brought the long fingers by Xylon’s entrance and gently inserted one, after playing around with the flesh. He wanted to avoid the contraction of the muscle, but that was like asking for the moon… so he lets the other male get used to the feeling before moving it around.
“Nnn… Radwan….”
Upon hearing his lover moan his name, he decides to introduce the second one, scissoring here and then, yet still moving them around, trying to loose it a bit. It didn’t take too much time so he could go in with the third one. In and out, in and out… and again, and once more. His pace was fast and hard, but the swordsman seemed to be asking for even more, judging by his thrusts. So he accelerates the rhythm, and adds a fourth finger to it all.
How this was much, much better than getting examined by a doctor, even though it was basically the same thing. However, it was done with much more love. His mate didn’t do it just for a business, it was a ritual… a good one at that. He had been with many men before, but he had declared that his current boyfriend was the best one ever, and that no one could ever replace him. Radwan had taken a particular liking to that; normally he was a loner, somewhat cold and indifferent, but with the green-haired man, he really couldn’t stay of stone. Well his hard-on could…
When he felt the smaller man shaking and moaning even louder – that HAD to be loud! – he pumps faster and faster on the member, wondering if there would be blisters on his hands from such rubbing. He knew it wouldn’t last longer, and finally lets go of the erection… only to over it with his mouth. He didn’t intend to see all those seeds go to waste! After a few seconds of deep-throating, Xylon reached his orgasm, sending a jet of warm, thick liquid down his blue-haired lover’s throat. Everu drop was dropped or kicked, and he barely gagged this time.
“You taste wonderful…” he adds, withdrawing from the member and going back up again to present the younger male a deep kiss, almost sure that the guy would taste himself.
Xylon opened his eyes after the tongue-wrestling moment and looked at his boyfriend, suddenly growing more serious. He really loved being with him… but if they wanted to stay alive In order to stay together, they had other things to do as well. “You’re great… but I think we’re gonna have to go to Biron fast… so we better leave soon.”
Even though it sucked not being able to stay there longer, he had to say that the swordsman was right. “Okay, let’s just recover some, take a shower and leave… or wait. Shower, now.”
A grin formed on the smaller face as he got up and started to drag Radwan to the bathroom. “Then come on. I think we could get it on a second time!”
“Great, Xylon, great…. Ow…”
The grin turned to a sheepish smile; he stopped pulling for a second, and resumes it afterwards. “Oops sorry, but come!”
