Chapter 10
Review Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love to Read Reviews So Please Review!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“So where did you run off too Saturday?” Kevin asked Robin on Monday in their literature class.
“I didn’t run anywhere. Marty and I just left.”
“Oh, just wondering,” Kevin said then turned around just in time for class to start.
Robin went to the cafe with Kevin after class to. They were laughing and chatting when Marcus walked in and spotted them.
“Hey baby,” he said as he kissed Robin’s cheek, then he looked at Kevin, “Hey.”
Robin knew that having Marcus and Kevin around each other was not a good thing, but Marcus was her man and Kevin was her friend. Maybe one time won’t hurt.
“Join us, Marcus” Marcus looked at Robin like she was crazy.
“I would, but babe I eating with the Alpha guys today,” he kissed her once more then walked away and joined the guys.
“Hey man I thought you were eating with your girl.”
“I was, but she’s eating with Kevin,” he looked at her table again and frowned.
“Kevin Davis is not someone you should let your girlfriend be around. He ain’t nothing, but trouble.”
“Yeah, man I know,” Marcus told Chris, a member of Alpha.
“No man for real, get Robin away from him and watch your back.”
Marcus did not like what he was hearing, but he already knew Kevin only wanted Robin and not her friendship, but she was just too nice to see that.
**********
Things were playing out just like Kevin wanted them too. Robin was having lunch with him instead of Marcus and if he had it his way she would be doing other things with him too, but he had to take things slowly. He knew she would believe that lie about him wanting to fit in with the guys and him really being a sweet and loveable guy. The killer was when she went out with him and his brother’s friends. He knew his brother was a dork so he used his friends to make Robin think he was a dorky guy too. Then when he saw her at the party Saturday looking at Marcus and Tina he made his move and things were going great until Marcus cut in, but Kevin didn’t mind because in due time she would be his, but while he waited he would just spend some more time with Whitney and her friends.
“Kevin?”
“Oh I’m sorry were you saying something.”
“Yea I was laughing at that look on your face.”
“What look?”
“That stupid look,” Robin laughed when Kevin looked more confused then before.
“Hey do you want to get out of here and maybe go hang out.”
“As good as that sounds Kevin, I really need to head to my room and start on my art project.”
“Oh, what are you doing?”
“That, I can’t tell you.”
Kevin sometimes got tried of her always wanting to be the best when it came to school. She always had something to study or paint.
Just when he was about to say something else he noticed Marcus walking towards them. Damn, that man got on his last nerves. He didn’t see what Robin saw in him. Ok he was a pretty boy and smart, but he was annoying as hell.
“Babe are you heading back to your room yet.”
“Um I thought we could meet in the union circle instead of my room because you know we won’t get any work done in my room,” she blushed.
“Ok, are you ready?”
“I think so,” she looked at Kevin, “I’m going to head out. I guess we can hook up later.”
“Sure, thanks for having lunch with me.”
“Any time. Bye Kevin.” Robin grabbed Marcus’ hand and walked out the café.
***********************
Robin was sitting in the library a week later when she saw Kevin walk in and automatically spot her.
“Hey girl.”
“Hey Kevin. I haven’t seen you around much.”
“I’ve been busy studying for that test we have in two days, but I still ain’t ready.”
“What’s the problem?”
“I don’t know. I just can’t seem to get any of those journals. Can you help me a little?”
“Sure.”
“Cool, why don’t I meet you at your dorm tonight around 8?”
“That’ll be good.”
“Cool.”
Kevin showed up a little before eight. When Robin opened the door she noticed that Kevin was not dressed for studying. He had changed into dark blue jeans and a striped button up white shirt and he smelled good as all hell. She herself was in her cotton pajamas and a pink tank with her hair up in a ponytail.
“Hey,” he smiled making sure to show all 32 teeth.
“Come in Kevin,” she said as she closed the door behind him, “You look nice. Hot date tonight?”
“Nope.”
Robin just looked at him for awhile then finally walked over and sat on the floor. She only had two hours to study with him before Marcus came over so they could study.
“So where do you want to start?”
Kevin opened his note book to the first journal. “Ok this one right here.”
Robin looked at what he was talking about. Sitting this close to him she could smell his cologne better and she liked it.
“Kevin what are you wearing?”
“Perry Ellis. Why?”
“I like it, but anyway let’s get back to the journal. This one was a little hard at first, but I researched it and found out that it was actually written by Professor Smith. She talks about racism being around in today’s society. So if you know that you can understand the rest.”
“So all this talk is just about racism?”
“Yep.”
“What about that gay shit she put in it. What does that have to do with the other shit?”
“Oh that was just her trying to include the homosexual community, but if you ask me she didn’t do a good job. Like who cares if they are looked down upon for being black? What we need to be worried about is that they are being killed for being gay.”
“Yeah that’s true,” Kevin said while he smiled at Robin’s point of view.
Robin was looking over Kevin’s last journal when she noticed that he was a little bit to close for comfort. When she turned to look at him, he leaned in and kissed her. She didn’t know what to think. At first they were studying and then he was kissing her and now she was kissing him back. Wait I’m kissing him back. When she realized what was happening she pulled away just in time to hear someone knock on the door. She hadn’t even looked at the clock because if she had she would know that it was 10:35 and Marcus was at the door.
“Hey baby,” Marcus leaned in to kiss her and was shocked when she gave him the cheek. Then he noticed Kevin sitting on the floor smiling up at him and he noticed Robin looking ashamed, “Something wrong here?”
Robin looked back at Kevin then quickly to Marcus again, “No, I just forgot what time it was.” She forced a smile on for Marcus then poked him, “By the way you’re late.”
“Sorry about that, but at least I brought books this time,” he tried to smile, but he knew something had went down here and, though he wished it was not true, he knew what that something was. He watched as Kevin got up and gathered his books.
“Um I’ll just be going. We can talk about this later Robin,” he looked at Marcus before walking out the door.
Marcus closed the door behind Kevin and walked towards Robin, “Talk about what, later?”
“Nothing just some work we were doing.”
“You sure,” Marcus was trying to give her one more chance to tell the truth.
“Yeah baby everything is all good,” she grabbed his hand and pulled him into the room, “Don’t worry I can handle things.”
Marcus was beside himself, he could not believe she just stood there and lied to his face. Why wasn’t she just honest and tell him that Kevin kissed her or maybe she kissed him.
“Baby?”
“What?”
“What’s wrong Marcus?”
“Look Robin I need to get out of here. I’ll tal……”
“Ok we can go out if you really want to.”
“No I am just going to leave. I need to think about some things,” he looked at her then walked out the room.
Something definitely was not right with her lying to him. He couldn’t believe she lied for that guy. Kevin really deserved what was coming to him and Marcus was going to make sure he was the one to give it.
