Epilogue
Epilogue
As the group attempted to run away from the castle, the walls fell in front of the path out. There was no other way out now that the main way was covered with rubble. Damascus held Rachel very close to him, knowing that if death were to come that it would be with each other. “Is there any other way out?” Damascus asked, trying to make his voice full of hope when he knew there was none.
“No,” Akastus says as he feels his heart sinking. “It is a death trap now,” he whispers.
Rachel heard that and just held tighter to Damascus. “Akastus…Tristan, touch Damascus. Hold onto him,” she whispers as she looks up to her love.
“Rachel, don’t. You are not strong enough love,” Damascus says as if he knows what will happen next.
“I must love….if only to keep you alive and the other two. I will not have you die just because you wished to save me. You did….in more ways than you will ever know,” Rachel whispers.
Akastus and Tristan take a hold of Damascus reluctantly. Neither wanted her to die if they were going to survive from this.
Rachel concentrated hard as a white glow surrounded all three of them. The group was taken to the place where Damascus had been sent to stay protected. As soon as she was done, her eyes closed as her breath slowly stopped.
“No…Rachel, please…” Damascus pleaded as a tear fell from his eyes. “I cannot live without you, please don’t go. Please…” He whispers as blood tears start to fall down his face and fall down upon Rachel’s. “I need you….”
At the words, Rachel very slowly started to breathe again and her color returned to her cheeks.
She would live, for now and in the years to come. Happiness would come to the two of them as would a marriage. It draws to a close here, a sunset waking the Prince into his new life that is much more full with Rachel in it.

Author’s note: There might be a sequel, but I need to finish up other things first. Probably either Masks or Rebirth and then the sequel to this.
Thank you for reading this!!!
