I will be keeping up with my other WIP. promise ;)

on with the show!!

~~~~~
How do lives intertwine? What is the deciding factor? Is it fate? Or do we just fall prey to coincidences? Why was I made…?
Before I get to ahead of myself, let me introduce myself. My name is Kitsune Riona Lawrence. I’m 21 years old and barely following the natural systems that were laid down for me. In fact you could say I’m something of a rebel. In this day and age, there are a lot of tests running to make a better human, one who can run faster, be stronger and be all round powerful.
This is where I come in.
I was to be the perfect human. A god being of sorts… and I was to be the first of many. Or so they thought…
~~~~~~

The city was crowded with people living their ordinary lives, and carrying out their business as though nothing is wrong. I was able to blend in perfectly on the sidelines. It was actually sad how little attention was given to the homeless and the less fortunate on the streets.

‘You could have gotten a job.’ An old lady passing slamming her bag into an unsuspecting homeless person. ‘That’s what the rest of us did yuh louse.’ I guess she deserved to lose the wallet that was protruding from her bag at that point.

I watched this from a seat across the road, at the entrance to the park and smirked. Behind me I could hear a couple groaning and grunting, doing things I didn’t have to stretch my imagination for, causing the dog who followed me, and I’d affectionately called Jaan, around to whine and cover her ears and face. “It’s alright honey.” I whispered “It’s annoying but alright. Do you want to move?” she looked up at me pitifully and I couldn’t help but laugh. It was always better that I laugh.

~~~~~~
“It’s the Souseiki!!!!” people were running away from a loud explosion that took place probably four block in front of me. I should have followed them. I should have moved away from the commotion, but what do I do? I go to see if anyone’s hurt.
‘Aren’t I just looking to get caught again?’
It was the roar that rocked my ears first. Followed slowly by the tremors in the earth. Whoever was doing this was either, in very little control of his/her power, or didn’t care about the consequences that would follow. When I saw the beast; for he seemed more man than beast, towering at least ten feet tall and heavily furred, there were maybe three people cowering in a corner trying in vain to stay out of his reach. I looked at him for maybe a minute, taking in his appearance. He had two horns that protruded from his skull and curled like that of a ram, his face was covering in coarse bristly fur that was matted around the mouth with blood, his neck was thick and sinewy leading to massive shoulders along arms thick as fully grown trees ending at barrel sized hands. The rest of his body was in proportioned to that of a gorilla which would have made the average human piss themselves just looking at him. I ran over to the cowering humans and touched the smallest on the shoulder
“You alright?” her eyes were wild and her thoughts skewered
“Why are you here?” the male next to her demanded, though there was some relief on his face
“What happened here?” I motioned to the behemoth, ignoring his question.
“That guy punched him in the face.” he said pointing to an unconscious male at the behemoth’s feet “And he went berserk.” Now the question stood, why were they still here. I looked to the last one, another male, and saw his foot was trapped under what seemed to be the lower half of a car. He had tears running down his cheeks and I could hazard a guess to say his leg was crushed.
“I’m going to get you guys out of here.” I said, picking the first two up by the shirts and blocking two tables that came flying in our direction. They looked at me in awe.
“You’re like him?” the girl squeaked, her pale face turning paler as another table was sent flying in the opposite direction by apparently nothing.
“Yes and no.” I replied simply. I looked at her seriously and the boy motioned to their fallen companion. Without so much as second look, I grabbed what was left of the car and heaved it away from him, wincing at the smell of blood. Without the pressure holding the leg together, he wailed in pain. I rolled my eyes and quickly focused on repairing what I could deciding to leave the rest to nature.
“Hold on to me.” I instructed, raising the boy in my arms as he stopped wailing. “Now take a deep breath.”
~~~~

Black nothingness, stifling silence, the feeling of despair… then light. They fell to the floor gasping for air while I let out a dry laugh.

“Where are we?” the boy asked

“In the park and about three minutes from the nearest hospital.” I replied letting the boy out of my arms. He stumbled and his friends caught him. The girl looked at me with gratitude and a little bit of fear in her eyes.

“Thank you.” she whispered. I smiled and turned, contemplating if I should go back to the guy who started that mess. I decided against it, and went instead in search of Jaan. ‘At least she won’t start something for that organization to have to come and investigate…’
