Hoping for Changes
A/N: This is my first shot at an original fanfiction. I do not consider myself a writer at all, so I apologize for any grammatical or typo mistakes that might appear. I hope enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it ^_^. Any criticism for improvement is greatly appreciated.

His head was throbbing in terrible pain. It was so painful that the pain was null and sharp at the same time. Never did he think such a pain was possible. The pain in his head made him ignore the pain that was also inflicting the rest of his body. The pain is what made him come back to consciousness but fortunately it seemed he could not stay conscious for long.
“Did you hear him? I think I heard him groan,” he heard a voice, “Lei… I think he is awaking up.”
That voice…it sounds so worried….it’s so soft…
That was the last thing he thought before he blacked out again.

“Lei, stop touching him…if Keiran knows he will be very mad and you will be in trouble again. The physician is going to come back any second and see you. You already were not supposed to be here in the room with me today.” A fidgety blond said, his steel gray eyes worriedly going back and forth from the entrance door to his friend who, not surprisingly, did not seem to care and kept going about taking close looks of their ‘guest’.
“So? The physician doesn’t know that I am not supposed to be here.” Lei said as he faintly ran his fingers through their unconscious guest’s red hair. He had always been jealous of lighter hair color, too bad his own was jet-black. “And of course you are not going to tell him I was not supposed to be here.”
“But he will report back to Keiran everything! Even who was in the room with me and you know that!” The blond exclaimed loudly in frustration. His eyes widened and he quickly brought his hands to cover his mouth when he saw the previously limp, unconscious figure slowly sit up groaning.
Lei was also surprised and moved away from the red-haired man as if he were contagious with some disease.
The man groaned in pain as he covered his face with one hand. Now he could feel the pain in his head and the rest of his body. He realized that he was not wearing any clothing, but his nakedness was covered by just a thin red blanket. He then took his hand off his face and looked at the person sitting not too far from him and then at the room, before realizing that there was another person with them. His military training has taught him to take in his surroundings fast and the people around him no matter what state he was in. His eyes rested on Lei, who by this time, had gotten up from his sitting position and made his way to his blond friend. The red-haired man observed that the two people in front of him were beautiful. The one that had been close to him had long black hair, the blackest hair he has ever seen on a person, tied up in ponytail. The black haired person had piercing steel gray eyes, his nose refined, with milky complexion and full lips. Off his first impression, if he had to describe such a person in a few words it would have been sultry and exotic. The other person was a completely different kind of beauty. He had long blond hair tied in a braid that hung over his shoulder. He was slightly smaller than the other young man, who was already rather small himself. This one also had steel gray eyes, but they were big and seemed much more innocent. This boy’s features were similar to the other young man, but much softer. Due to the way they were dressed they were definitely not servants. They were dressed in robe like knee length silk garments and had a scarf like material wrapped around their shoulders. The black-haired beauty dressed in various shades of blue while the blond one was in red. The jewelry which included the earrings and bangles on their wrists suggested to the red-haired man that these two before him were definitely privileged in some sort of way in whatever place this was.
“Who are you?” Lei was the first to speak. He had also assessed the man before them. The red-haired man was very tall, lean but built and despite all the injuries on him, he looked like he could fight; short red-hair and a very interesting shade of hazel eyes. His features were handsome and chiseled.
“LEI!” The blond one exclaimed. Lei knew that he was not supposed to talk to other people but that has never stopped him before and it was not going to now.
“Geez calm down Sare nothing bad is going to happen by just asking his name!” Lei exclaimed back to his blond friend in frustration. It frustrated Lei by how his blond friend was always so nervous about doing anything.
Sare looked back at the stranger nervously before lowering his gaze. Lei rolled his eyes at Sare before looking at the man again. “So…what is your name??” he practically demanded.
The man just raised an eye-brow at him, “I am Aiden Maddox Quinn of Luxem.”
Lei looked amused by the title, “Of Luxem, huh, so you are a prince.”
“And you two are…?” Aiden asked in return, he wanted to stand but not only was he naked, he was in so much pain he did not think he could. The battle on the borders of Luxem against the Kingdom of Urbin had gone horribly wrong, he was lucky to get out of it alive. However, not knowing where he was and how he got here, he probably wasn’t that lucky after all. “Where am I?”
“This is the Kingdom of Viera.” A new voice that entered the room responded. It belonged to an elderly, stern looking woman. “You were found unconscious right along our borders with Urbin.” The woman then curtsied to Aiden. “We found your imperial seal while we were undressing your highness. Our benevolent King Ghazi wishes for you to recuperate your health in his kingdom and hopes you will accept his kindness and hospitality.”
Aiden just looked at the woman for a moment. His memory from the battle with Urbin was basically gone at the moment. He was still very confused and disoriented and feeling very concerned about his current situation. Viera and Urbin are known for their alliances and loyalty to one another. Why wasn’t he turned over to Urbin as soon as he was found? This woman’s words did not make sense to him at all.
“For your safety no one other than the King, the Queen, his personal attendant and I know your identity your highness.” The woman said as if she knew what Aiden was thinking.
Aiden looked at the woman to the two young men also still in the room. The prince wondered if the blond one was the personal attendant but then who was the extra one that, as he heard while coming back to consciousness, was not supposed to even be here with them. Aiden then looked at the woman again and nodded. “I deeply appreciate your King’s rescue and I am indebted to him for my life.” He still was not sure what was going on and he was not certain if he could trust this woman’s word, but his only option right now was to remain calm and see what happens from here.
The woman smiled, “I am Lady Min and I am the King’s secretary. If you need anything at all please have me summoned.” She then turned to the pair in the room. “Sare come here.” Lady Min summoned the blond one. Sare quickly walked over and stood next to Lady Min facing Aiden but had his eyes lowered to the floor.
“This is Sare, King’s Ghazi’s personal and trusted assistant. He is also our palace physician’s apprentice and he is a very talented student physician. The King believes it would be the best if Sare treats your wounds as he is more trustworthy in keeping your identity secret than our official physician is. Is it alright if he tends to your wounds?”
Aiden noticed Sare’s eyes widened at Lady Min’s words. Apparently the blond attendant did not know he was going to be the one taking care of the Prince of Luxem.
Aiden just closed his eyes and nodded, “That is alright with me madam.” He was just so tired and in so much pain. He was not able to stop himself from falling back into the pillows and soft blankets on the floor. Aiden knew there was nothing he could do to stop from passing out again.
“Sare, go and attend him. Make sure you are careful in treating him. Lei….you come back with me.”Was the last thing Aiden heard before he finally blacked out.
