Life and Death
The following material is all original. All characters were created by me, for the purpose of this story. I would like to say though, that inspiration for this series came from Mortal Kombat.

*Act 1*
*Scene 0: Prologue*
**Prologue**
Centuries ago....
For many years, every decade, there has been a sacred tournament, in which the greatest warriors from all over the world gathered into one temple to prove their worth. To the winner goes wondrous prizes: Riches, land, women; nearly anything they desire. And to the to the loser, well, their fate lies in the hands of the victor. They are allowed the simple choice: Mercy or death.
**Cast of Primary Characters**
Teresa - A young girl, aged 20. For years, Teresa has trained under the guidance of Master Montalvo to be a sorceress. Her learning has been shaky and has hit many roadblocks, but nevertheless, she is devoted to learning everything she can. This decade will be her first in the tournament.
Mercy - A female fighter, aged 29. Mercy, who once made it to the final round in the tournament, is a pride filled soul, who tries again and again when she fails. After being granted mercy by the one who defeated her, Wildcat, she has trained constantly, hoping to again face her again.
Wildcat - Current champion, aged 32. Wildcat, who defeated Mercy last tournament, is the reigning champion. By employing a combination of cat like reflexes, sharp wits, and even sharper metal claw weapons, Wildcat is highly underestimated due to her looks. The saying holds true in this woman. "This kitten's got claws."
Montalvo - A sorcerer, aged 68. For many decades, it has been the sole duty of Montalvo to train the next age of sorcerers so they will be ready to represent their country in the tournament. Having been the master of many successful students in the past, he now turns his attention to training Teresa.
Sargon - Former champion, aged 101. Sargon is the former seven time champion, winning every time he competes. As of late, due to his winning streak, he has been appointed by Valeria, watcher of the arena, to oversee it as a ruler. At anytime however, the winner of a tournament may challange Sargon for his position. But deep down, everyone knows he cannot be defeated in a fair one on one.
Johannis - Former champion of the tournament, aged 328. Johannis is a mighty centaur warrior whose brute strength and stamina in battle makes him a force to be reckoned with. Two decades ago, Johannis defeated then champion, Tybalt, and became a fan favorite. After losing last tournament to Tybalt in a rematch, he aims to win again and regain the graces of the tournament with his centaurian country.
