Well, one good review deserves another, so here goes!
Right off the bat, the Prologue chapter sets the inital framework for everything. It's like showing your class the year's sylabus, giving them a general idea of what to expect. The character desciptions here are short and sweet, giving a bit of form to each one.
As for the first chapter, you certainly spare no expense on descriptivness! It's very easy to visualise anything you put into the story, with even minor details getting light. Each of the characters, from Erika and the elderly owner of the gym, right up to the Gods themselves, seems to have a well-crafted and very beleivable personality. Mercy's seemingly limitless rage, Teresa's borderline ineptitude, Wildcat's seductiveness, Montalvo's patient wisdom; everyone has a belivable, genuine humanity in them. I am definately going to keep an eye on your works, King. This one's a gem!
