The paragon you could have loved does not exist
Now your ideals are blown to bits
And rising from the mist

The child you raised from your own belly
Second chance to make it all well
And then this private hell

I wanted so much to make you understand me
I thought there was room in our family
At least now I'm free

The one thing I could never, ever have been
The one way I could see to win
Free from original sin
