And back with such a powerful memory... I wanted to jump in there and get between the two protagonists, and just scream for them to stop. I've dealt with some toxic people, but this is an extreme level, and the emotional abuse and manipulation was almost worse than the physical abuse and self-abuse.
I'm glad this is in your past, and I can only hope fervently that you've found some healing. I'm very glad you came home to AFF to exorcise a little of it by writing.
