Good use of the prompts, and a really good ending. But that part in the middle, the agony of that moment when he thinks to save himself, but he's thought of it too late. It's in the nature of the drug, and I've got to say this really affected me when I read it. I imagine it's the same feeling people have when they jump off tall buildings, but with an opiate those moments are horribly prolonged. Well done.

It's really to bad you limited the story to a 1000 words, cause this was pretty compelling. Very curious now what the plan for the defense lawyer would be and the background of the killer.

A nice return, too, with a proper tale of revenge well savored. I have to admit, you managed to make Marcos remarkably unlikable in a few pithy paragraphs, and I was rooting for Korey even if his brother HAD been guilty, to be honest. Very clever, very plausible, and thoroughly well done!
