My Interpretation of your poem is that we; ‘the traveller’ in this piece, may need to follow a fateful beleaguered path plagued with foreseeable pain – our life journey.
However, the voice ‘our saviour’ is soothing the way; goading the traveller to take the path to the road to salvation through the darkness, with fortitude and focus, and not to dwell on the things which may drive us from our true path. And when the end is reached, and the darkness ends, then the path will be awash with an eternal glowing light – our salvation, and we can then walk without fear.
