Your story was heartbreaking because it had so much truth in it. It is sad because I have gay friends in here in the rural Midwest and I know how much courage it takes to be openly gay. It is very hard to come out to friends and family - sometimes it is impossible until you are old enough to make a life for yourself somewhere else. Very good writing.
