Hi Kiix,
you know I didn't believe Sex and Claudius would be all good but I admit the tub-scene was unexpected. Not so much for the tension etc. but for Claudius actually being the first to run away. In all of the former C-books he was supposed to be the voice of reason and not to act all emotional. Even when he did, he was composed. The new Claudius is something (I dare say) we - the readers - have to get accustomed to. I can't imagine Claudius running off without a statement in the fashion of, 'I will earn your trust'.
He was ready to share with Sex. If being called Alexander set him off, I wonder what he expected from sharing. He would have to endure the same heart-ache, offenses etc. Why running that exact instant?
Sex trashing the flat is alright and I still think he should get a go at the red piano but flying away ... Hasn't he learned from the OW-episode? And how is he going to rule the nation? Emperors aren't civilists, that can act on whims and run when heart-ache is overpowering. He is Emperor by his own choice and will. He has to stop loosing his head like this. He has one big advantage - 3 brothers inside the same body. Before loosing composure in front of the court he should transport his ass back to the beach and let X take over while he lives out his tantrum. Such behaviour earned Sigmund the title of a maniac and in the end his own funeral. To outsiders there isn't much of a difference apparent and more than one Thomas ranks high in the nation. Sex has to grow up more. At this particular time X would do better as head of the nation.
For Clove getting darker - I'm a fool for dark. Until you surprise me, like I know you will, I give in to my musings about Clove and keep my laptop in reach, so I can look for updates :-) I don't think you are out of the universe. Give in to Sex and see where he leads you.

Hello Kiix,
in case you followed our musing about the shields of vampires, a little insight would be appreciated.
ATOI:
The mindwalking-thing has the same effect on me. It is somehow like cotton candy. I have several problems with the shields. A vampire (lycan) uses the shield to protect against detecting and as a sort of mental armor but why does a vampire need it anyway? Humans can't detect them other than by sight and hardly break them. All vampires in Kiix universe have basic mindwalking skills (they use them while feeding from humans, but the brothers and Marcus talents are unique. While Marcus is more experienced I got the impression, he doesn't see as 'clearly' or 'pictured' as X. He told him, his mindwalking works different and referred to X's mental passing by as a balmy breeze (if I remember right). So the question is, what sort of vampire can attack a shield in the way Sex did to Claudius? How does an ordinary vampire do it anyway? And how do vampires make out their kin usually? That would be important to know, because it seemst to be the reason for making shields. Alarik only said, he broke Claudius' first shield but never how. If vampires can attack a shield mentally in a similar way to filtering human memories, in which way are the brothers and Marcus that different when it comes to mindwalking? Thats a bit of a miracle to me. Maybe Kiix will enlighten us? She already created several bloods: the hellcats, the seers, the vampires, the humans, the lycan and the orcanlovs. None of those bloods seems to meet the criteria for mind-breaking by mindwalking. You see my problem here.
To the light question. Let's treat the existance of the shields as a 'because Kiix wrote so'-thing and therefore a given. Light might work against younger vampires but once they pass a certain age, they can withstand the sun. (After Sex drank from Liam on the beach, he said he had the abilities of about 200+, so the mark would be the time a vampire becomes an ancient.) I assume up to that age the light-shield could work but younger vampires naturally aren't likely to go against others. So I would create a different sort of shield and additionally mix it with light (like mirror or water reflecting light). Against a Hades or a Liam, even a Xavier would light be nothing but a glow to bask in.
The blood-thing. Cool idea! I guess it would work because the beach is somehow mindwalking, at least Liam referred to it like that, and the blood taken on the beach does work out in the real world. The brothers have one big advantage. Due to the fracturing they can mindwalk without worrying for the body as long as one takes control of it in the real world. If not ... they end up thrown into a tub full of ice by Liam :-). I wonder if Marcus ability would increase, if he learned to 'share' with Armor like the brothers. Could he take longer walks if Armor took control of the body while Marcus mindwalked?
