Wow, that was very, very sad. It's kind of like my life, except I'm seventeen, single, and without offspring, but I'm very, very, very lonely. Everyone in my house always leave me alone and go out and do fun things while I just stay at home. At least you are not techincally a spinster. I'm going to be one, not that I'm happy about it

Change the title. It's hard to care about what's happening when you get the idea from the title that it doesn't really matter. If it's JUST a story, then isn't the issue addressed herein JUST an issue? And I have to wonder... is this autobiographical? Or just biographical? It made me smile when I realized that the subject has no negative qualities. Usually, there is a reason that lonely people are alone. Where is the character's involvement in her own dilemma? I'm not trying or intending to be mean, by the way. I just feel as though this is a bit incomplete. Delve a bit deeper into this topic and your character; doing so would make this a much more interesting post.
