Exciting update! I really liked the way you described the fight with the demon, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Hurray for John learning to use a little magic - even if he did faint afterwards (lol). The scene with Beras was interesting, too. I wonder what, exactly, it was that John's father didn't agree to? Well, I'm sure everything will be revealed in good time. Keep up the good work!

I tried to review your story this morning, but it wouldn't let me. And now half of it is gone! I hope you have it saved elsewhere?

I thought the new chapters revealed quite an exciting turn of events. Jessica and John make an interesting pair. I like the fact that she gets impatient with him -- it seems very probable that angels would find mere mortals somewhat frustrating. Would it be too presumptuos to look for some eventual romantic tension between these two? The possibility seems to be there. I just hope John can learn magic fast enough to fend off that demon!

Great beginning! John certainly has an interesting history, which I\'m sure will lead to an even more interesting future. The sentence that he speaks to his dead father (\"Dad…in my heart I always thought you were more then what you seemed… but it turns out you were only human.\") struck me as particularly sad and poignant. One of the final bits of innocence that we lose is the moment when we realize that our parents are just people, not invincible heroes. I thought you captured that nicely. I look forward to reading about John as he discovers the truth about his father, and about himself. Don\'t keep me waiting too long!
