You just keep surprising me! Which is always a good thing in stories. I liked John and Jessica's opposite reactions to the marketplace. It was a nice bit of role-reversal to have the woman be the one who wasn't interested in shopping. I wonder who that man was, who bumped into them? And I wonder about Jessica's sense of forboding regarding the town. Always so many questions to keep me wanting to read more. I'm glad that you have some time off to spend writing!

Oh, you know me. Once I find a story I like, I tend to stick with it.
Wow, the man in black really can kick some serious ass! It takes a lot to get the better of an angel like that. And the dream certainly took a disturbing turn. Your description of the man with the claw for a hand was wonderfully creepy. Gave me the shivers. I wonder what role he plays in upcoming events? As always, you're keeping me guessing, and I'm eager to see what happens next!

Oooh, very intriguing prophecy! (I just love a good bit of foreshadowing!) And the mysterious man in the scarf certainly has turned into an interesting character. I wonder what deal he made with the angels? The fight scene was exciting, and very nicely described -- clear, but succinct enough to keep the pace moving fast. I always have trouble with action scenes, so I admire it when I see it done well. Looking forward to more!

Wow, that trick your computer played really sucks! It must have been horrible to lose all your work like that. But I'm glad that you're not letting it defeat you. (In my opinion, all computers are possessed by demons -- mine keeps turning itself off at random moments.)
Despite all your trials and tribulations, you managed to write another great chapter! I really loved the image of Jessica's wings dissolving into a flurry of feathers. So beautiful. That was some sacrifice she made to be with John, but it's true that heaven wouldn't feel the same if the person she loved wasn't there with her. They both seem so strong together. It gives me great hope that they'll be able to fight whatever evil arises.

Great new chapter! Longer than most, which is nice. (I always want more of a good thing!) I liked the mysterious figure perched on the top of the tower. He seemed very intriguing, and the way you described his scarf and cloak really struck me. Very vivid. And I liked his musings on destiny versus choice. (A subject I've been playing with in my own writing, obviously.) Poor John and Jessica, torn apart by the fact that she's an angel. I'm definitely looking forward to that M/F you promised!

Exciting confrontation! I thought John was doomed for sure. But he got sneaky, and actually managed to catch Beras off guard. Nice! And now I'm just dying to find out what that globe is and why it matters so much. I like the way this story moves along so quickly -- it never gives me a moment to feel bored.

Hurray for Jessica spitting on Beras -- it's nice to see an angel with some spunk. Quite a startling revelation about John's father. That must come as an unpleasant blow. You've done a nice job of backing John into a seemingly impossible situation. I can't wait to see how he manages to defeat Beras and rescue Jessica. (Assuming, of course, that he IS going to defeat Beras and rescue Jessica...)

I thought it was sweet that John wanted to see his parents again...and sad that he couldn't. But now the demons have Jessica! That fire wolf creature was really scary, and you made John's fight with it quite exciting. I hope he can rescue Jessica and get some answers.

Hey, a short update is better than no update! I wonder what Beras is up to? And what "it" is? You weave such intriguing questions into your story, they always leave me wanting to read more. Did John intend to drench himself after the dream? The image of the ball of water falling on his head totally cracked me up. More soon, please!

Very nice. I appreciated Jessica's answer when John asks her what heaven is like. It seems very wise to say that few humans really know the true desire of their heart. I also liked the moment when he woke up and she was staring at him again. LOLl! Their attraction to each other is developing in a nice, believable manner, with Jessica wondering what it's like to be human, and John only able to summon his magic when he thinks about defending her. I'm really looking forward to seeing their relationship play itself out.
