Thanks for answering my request for a quick update! Good chapter. Good descriptions of John struggling with exhaustion and starvation -- you really made me feel the things he was feeling. And Karin seems like an interesting lady. I always have the utmost respect for a skilled warrior woman.

Until the next update...

It is nice to have AFF back to normal, isn\'t it? I was going crazy not being able to post the last chapter of \"Jelly Babies\".

Love the new updates! Avion is now my favorite character. I have such a thing for people struggling to overcome their dark heritage -- very noble at heart, but still convinced that they don\'t deserve love. I\'m glad that he\'ll be travelling with our heroes. And I really liked what Jessica told him: \"It\'s the kind of love where saying \'I love you\' doesn\'t feel like enough, like there is more to the meaning of it then you may know... I was once an angel, and I saw love differently then that. But my time with John made me see how love is much more then mere words. It\'s... hard to describe.\" Love IS really hard to describe, but I thought that her words captured the depth and complexity of it very nicely.

But what a cliffhanger, with Avion and Jessica lost in the snow! Don\'t keep me waiting too long for the next installment.

Aha! I knew Aivon would end up joining the fight. Interesting comment about a "connection". Could it be that Aivon is some sort of demon, perhaps? Neat trick with Atrois's claw-tendrils. Very, very creepy. I can't wait until the second part of the fight!

Cool! I like the way the castle wasn't what John and Jessica (or the reader) expected. It's so enjoyable when a story keeps surprising me. Atrois's rather playful attitude about the whole confrontation is certainly unnerving. I hope John and Jessica have a few tricks up their sleeves!

Oooh, I have a bad feeling that John and Jessica are about to get in over their heads. But maybe Aivon will be able to help them. He seems quite cool, and I definitely want to learn more about his story. (Is he, perhaps, Sophia's mysterious admirer?) I really liked the last sentence, about the castle looking like a demon, ready to swallow them. Great image, and it establishes a nice sense of forboding. Can't wait for the next bit!

Sometimes, taking a break can be a good thing. I often stop writing for a couple of days after I finish a chapter. It gives the "inner well" a chance to refill itself a bit. And we loyal readers don't mind waiting. (Well, we don't mind too much!)

Aha! So Eion is jealous, is he? That's so sad. Somehow, there's nothing more melancholy than an angel suffering from unrequited love. Is the code that the demons are talking about the carvings on the chair? I'm absolutely itching to find out what that's all about!

Looking forward to more!

Interesting encounter between Eion and Jessica! In his own, understated, angelic way, Eion seems quite bothered by the fact that Jessica is now human -- showing up just to tell her that there's something she should know, but he can't say, because she's not an angel anymore, nyah, nyah, nyah. It's like he wants to make her regret her choice. I wonder if he's jealous? Or just doesn't understand why anyone would choose to be human? Anyway, I can't wait for the next bit!

Poor John! I mean, I know Jessica is right, but I really identify with his anger and frustration. I hate it, too, when people try to order me around. Especially in such an arrogant way as the man in black. (Although it does seem that his arrogance is somewhat justified by his skill and knowledge.) And now you've got me really curious about that chair! What sort of tale would be inscribed on a chair, and how is it going to relate to upcoming events? You leave me, as always, eager for the next update.

What an exciting combat scene! I especially liked the image of John chanelling his power through the ground, in order to strike the giant scorpions from underneath -- that was a neat idea. And our heroes even get rewarded for their efforts, with a very cool-sounding sword. I'm not certain about the forshadowing you mentioned. Was it when John decides not to fight Beras, in order to save Jessica? It seems like that could hint at some choice he might need to make in the future. Anyway, I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. Thanks for another great update!

Oooh, sexy smut! It's nice to know that ex-angels aren't too holy for the occasional blowjob. The last sentence certainly ended things on a note of menace. I can't wait to see what sort of test Atrois has planned for our hero and heroine!
