Dude, you are my hero. The last page of this post... wow. Some things about your writing bother me (minor technical errors, mostly), but overall I have to say that I don't care and it doesn't *really* matter and here is why: you are candid, unapologetic, humorous, and (most of all) honest. This is, I'll admit, the first time I've been to aff.net in weeks; the quality of posts on this site (everything including [but certainly not limited to] the forums, fiction, and non-fiction boards) is appalling, but so is the quality of review *and* the average writer's response to said review. You are the *only* writer I've come across recently who I would actually use that word to describe (all the others are 'try-ers'). You admit you're not Norman Mailer (and it kills me to look at the children who post here who seem to think that they *are*), but you do not use this as an excuse for laziness. In fact, above and beyond anything else I really have to say to you, the fact that this concept (laziness) has never even entered into your post is phenomenal. I can't remember the last time I left a critical review and the author responded with something other than, "Well, I'm lazy. What do you want?"

I always hate asking things of other writers, but this time, I can't resist: please, please, please post this last page on the Rant board. Everyone who is presently posting there could do to look at this *and* take it to heart.

Thanks so much for being intelligent, articulate, and human. Admitting one's flawed nature in a venue such as this one is a rarity. Please keep up the good writing!

SO you finaly got out of the shell and told the raw facts...You made me proud of reading this piece of literature.

Forgive me, but you are a man? You are an intelligent one, but I wonder...is there cruelty down in there driving it? Or possibly you just don't know the therapeutic value of the stories, yes, sometimes even the ridiculous ones as long as decently written. As a molested child, teenager and adult, as well as a twenty seven year old woman putting up with the pantings of 'boys' in their early teens, I NEED the therapy. I believe this could have been extremely funny if written from a funny point of view. The way it stands, it hurt more than it made me smile.

Thanks for listening, and as a woman let me add there are more like me than you probably imagine. Sorry, but I had to get this off my chest as I believe you would want me to. All learning...and all that...

You have hit the nail SO hard on its head... words fail me. All I really have to say is (and consider this a bit loud, since I refuse to use the caps-lock): thank you! Thank you for saying it all so very, very well. The first chapter of this post should be on every board on this site. I just came away from the Harry Potter, Inuyasha, and a couple of original boards and I'm not lying, EVERYTHING I clicked on fell into your categories. If nothing else, you've given me hope that there ARE, even SOMEwhere on this site, intelligent people. Thank you!

@1: Good God (may God forgive me for bringing him into this)! If you ever have a chance, come on over to the forum. And I would be deeply honoured if you actually looked up a couple of my fics. I've never asked anyone to do this, but I find your wit so relentless, I couldn't imagine you not being in my collection. On to two! (btw, I liked the part about running over someone with your truck.)

@2: If I EVER write such things, I will be sure to print off and keep this beside me. Although, the sex scenes I'd write will most likely crack me up before I actually publish! (and I wouldn't know about the thicker vs. longer arguement, I've only been with one guy, and I think I would have liked it if he were a tad more average...)Ja-ne!
