The Girl Death Left Behind
She sat on a rock, watching the water
Trying to remember
How life could have gone so wrong
Her friends had all gone
And her family was dead
Where in this crazy world
Would she ever find peace?
From guilt that haunted her every waking hour
And the nightmares that haunted her sleep.
Where was the fabled sanctuary
That so many talked about.
Where could she go?
As shtchetched her reflection in the water
These thoughts came to her,
and another thought drifted slowly up.
Is there really a place in the world for me..
Will I always be the one who is....
.....left behind?
