Until we meet again
Until We meet again
The following is a letter to my daughter honouring what should have been her 3rd Birthday on September 30th.
Unfortunately, what should have been a party for my daughter on her third birthday, turned out to be me with my mum and two friends releasing balloons for Briana's birthday.
Her father while I'm sure he would have loved her had he known, did not know about Briana until May 2016 and unfortunately it is something he has not been able to forgive me for not telling him as we separated less than three months later.
I bear him no enmity, I only wish him to have love and happiness.
September 30, 2016
Happy birthday my princess.
Today is your third birthday, with your dark brown curls like Daddy's and your mischievous hazel eyes that are just like Mum's.
You mean more to us than we can ever tell you even though you arrived when we were so young.
We got to see everything, from your first ultrasound where Nana Anne was so happy she cried because we all got to see you, all the way through to your first tooth that you screamed at us for hours over.
Despite it all my baby, we loved you, and though Dad wasn't too happy at first when I informed him that your name was already decided on, and that not only did I name you after Poppy Brian and Nana Pat, but also after Grandma Bonnie and Nana Anne, but you would get to have Daddy's last name before Mummy and he was so happy about that.
As your Mother I can say the last three years were an absolute joy even through the tantrums tears and countless calls to our own parents for advice to make sure we were doing righ by yout.
You're my beautiful girl and even though you look like me, you have some of your father's most lovable traits with a diva like personality that rivals even your Aunty Rachel and Aunty Aishleigh.
For what I gave up to keep you, I can honestly assure you that I would not give you or your Dad up for the world even if it meant I could have a do-over.
I would much rather be singing "My Favourite Things" or "Enter Sandman" to have time with you then to do anything else.
I love you Briana Patricia Bonnie Anne, always have always will.
Love forever,
Mum.
