The Gardener
The Gardener
Unlike the flowers in your roomThe ones on my kitchen table are dead
They died like an old lady dies with no one but the nightstand next to her
They took their last breath long before you presented them to me,But your flowers are still living
Pulsing with the sickly sweet smell of blood
Perfuming the air with their sickly sweet scent.
You look at them daily,Tend to them nightly
And all along their petals keep falling
Crumbling beneath your huge footprints.
You failed to keep them moistI watered mine
And kept them in a vase
Where the sun could hit their yet to decay petals.
Tell me,After all this,
Who is the better gardener?
