Ode To Dollar Pizza
Ode to Dollar Pizza
By Spiral BreezeHot from the ovenYou burn my mouth
Yet I am hungry after class.
So I persist.Your crust is chewy,Yet not too soft or hard.
Your sauce is good too.
I’m not one to complain. It is your cheese I love.Your ooey, gooey cheese.
Stringy and delicious.
With toppings on top.
But you only cost a dollar.Yes, one hundred pennies.
No tax, which is nice.
One dollar, so good. One dollar means no chicken,
Or olives or pepperoni.
But, dollar pizza,
You have flavor!
It gives me time to appreciateYour crust, your sauce
And your cheese.
And when I am feelingIn the mood my Italian friend
Made by Arabs,
I sprinkle pepperoncini
On your cheese.
It has the most wonderful kick,To your otherwise blandness.
Sometimes, I even go for Oregano
Rigani in Greek.
But you are not Greek,
You are Italian,
Made by Arabs.
So dollar pizza,Have fun digesting in my stomach.
Till we meet again,
Another fresh and cheap slice,
Straight from the oven.
